First of, it's not like their wasting the animal. Second, it's their tradition. Third you guys shouldn't judge other people like this before you look at your own culture, for all those meat eaters protesting. This is in Tana Toraja, Sulawesi, Indonesia, the people here sacrifice buffalos in weddings or funerals. The richer they are, the more buffalos will be sacrificed.

in ceremonies like this, the whole village will participate and yes.. they will eat the meat... as the meat will be the main feast of the ceremony.. some ceremonies even last for a whole week with hundreds of buffaloes being slaughtered.
