  • Sorry, my maturity is of a 12 year old, but.... shroom, like the hallucinogenic mushroom..... I found that funny for some reason....

  • Waouh!

  • ...je vais conseiller à ma femme de l'essayer!

  • It's hard to believe that this wonderful make-up was started thousands of years ago. It inspired the 1920's and 1960's. What an amazingly beautiful style. The Egyptians understood that if you bring out the eyes, you illuminate the face. Those wonderful heavy black eyeliners made the eyes look so much bigger and could make an even plain woman look beautiful.

  • Wanted to say hello! Anyone that loves hair like me needs to stick together!

  • I really love all your videos! I like how you are laid back about applying it and open to using other brands of make-up.

  • like this look.

    You just talk too much.

  • What do u use for makeup remover? I can't find a good one

  • were can i buy the pallete you´re using in most of your videos?

  • were can i buy the palette you´re using in most of you videos?

  • I feel like Elizabeth Taylor's make up was more wearable then this. smokey blue tints seem less "garish" then gold glossy tints, and her wings weren't as extreme. Just my opinion. That aside really neat tutorial and very pretty

  • I've just found your channel and I love the 'Beauty Through The Ages' series. I'm especially grateful for this and the 1920s look. I'll have to adjust everything to my medium darkish complexion and relatively small eyes. I'll have to play around with product amount and color hues.

  • i have dark skin and i was wondering if you could recommend alternative colors to use that would work. thanks!

  • did you know celopatra use moth wings and duge betel guts for eye shadow the she had a great servent named neva gofare she made make up out of egg shells and dead roses and used it like eyeliner. neva was a very deffrenet with her eventive makeup she use pig fat the thin or thiken her eyeliner well i gave a lot of history lol im a nurd over egypt.

  • @mary1868 That is absolutely awesome information! I love learning things like this. I was never known as a nerd either. lol thank you for the info :}}

  • Love this look on you, especially with your hair pulled back that way!

  • This really suits you!

  • so pretty

  • i luv ur makeup tutorials n all, but wow when you said this is a more "normal" and wearable look, i didnt believe you. this look is not very normal for everyday wear. the wings are extended too much, so i think ppl will make fun of me if i were to wear that in public. 4 halloween its ok

  • This is so lovely. I love how you say Shroom!

  • @moochie9872

  • Beautiful.....

  • Great ideas... I love women hitting parties in Egyptian looks..

  • Cleopatra was egyptian but she married a macadonian

  • her family, the ptolemys, was founded by ptolemy 1, one of alexander the great's macedonian generals. he was given egypt after alexander's death. she married her younger brother. after his death she had a child (ptolemy caesar or caesarion) with julius caesar and then twins (alexander helios & cleopatra selene) with marc antony, both of which were roman.

  • Comment removed

  • @mckaykeith kemit? arabs? I have no idea what you're talking about. I said her family was macedonian but had control of egypt. maybe you should actually read comments before you rebut them

  • oh and a third child, ptolemy philadelphius. sorry

  • yay for Macedonians :)

  • Comment removed

  • cute makeup, but cleopatra was macedonian, not egyptian

  • @deathbatgirlxxx cleopatra was an egyptian but married a macedonian

  • @wondergirlsy no, her family, the ptolemaic dynasty, was founded by ptolemy 1, one of alexander the great's generals. he took control of egypt after alexander's death. she first married her younger brother, also called ptolemy. after his death she briefly stayed in rome with julius caesar. after his death, she married marc antony. her brother could be considered macedonian, but caesar & antony were both roman.

  • wow very nice make up

  • your videos are really great!

    thanks for them all =)

  • Love.<3

  • yep, agree with stepanixox . Nice work, but this look goes only with certain facial features if you don't naturally look greeky or egyptiany it ends up looking kind of weird.

  • i beg to differ. anyone can wear it; jus pull it off... confidence is KEY!

    =]

  • looks totally amazing (:

  • On the whole greek-egyptian argument, you may be interested to know that the greeks also had very similar makeup to the egyptians (elongating the eyes and eyebrows). Also, the makeup they used had a function (rather like a geisha's makeup)- it would cut out the glare from the sun and could prevent the eyes from becoming infected.

Nice video, by the way. Will definitely watch the others.

  • This is amazing. And it just looks so much like ancient Egyptian art! 5 STARS!

  • cleopatra was of macedonian roots, big deal. my queen (of UK) has german roots, again, big deal. to most of the world cleopatra, king tut, nefertiti are the symbols of ancient egypt just like the pyramids of giza. stop being patronising idiots, julia's look is truly amazing!!

  • Cleopatra was greek, there is no denying that. However, she was the ONLY greek ruler to learn the egyptian ways, customs, dances, theology, ect.

She was as egyptian as them and she actually appreciated and adopted their culture as her own. Something that even then a lot of rulers wouldnt have done. Besides, she was raised and born in egypt.

    :/

I fail to see your points.

  • For my eyes i would bring the gold up higher... because you cant really see it tht much

  • cleopatra wasn't egyptian.

    she was greek.

  • NO ONE CARES

  • She was the last pharaoh of Ancient Egypt though so...your point being? She was the ruler of Egypt, even though she was Hellenistic.

  • i dont have a point

    i was just saying

your tutorials not bad or anything.

i didnt mean to be offensive.

  • i have to say i love your makeup era videos i think they are fantastic and this is my favorite so far.......

    xoxo
