@VMercenary or if you believe the split time-line theory, he didn't exist in the timeline that ganon came back, as he was sent back in time to live in the past where they create a future where they tell the king of ganondorf's plan and then he goes to termina.

@niiiggeeer3000 No, in Majoras Mask, Link travels to Termina in search for Navi, and gets stuck saving the world again. But, Link (this is also the reason why I think Majoras Mask is the most depressing game ever) leaves after saving Termina so he can continue searching for Navi. But Link goes into the Lost Woods without a fairy, (if you played OOT, you should know that if you get lost in the Lost Woods you turn into a stalfos) and gets lost and turns into a stalfos, never to return to Hyrule

@Barrioth No, when Zelda sent Link back at the end of Ocarina to live his childhood, Gannon came back and Hyrule was flooded. But Link wasn't there, because he was sent back, which is where Majora's Mask picks up. Because there wasn't a Hero of Time existing in this timeline, no one could stop Gannon, which lead into Wind Waker.

@AipomandCats It appears to be because of the timeline split. That is the explanation Anouma put forward with Twilight Princess being "parallel" to Wind Waker. Between you, me, and everyone else who views this video, I think they came up with that after making TWW, and that the original reason was that he "left Hyrule" in MM. That's what King Hyrule implies.

Wind Waker: Japanese release date '02, NA release date 2003.

So no matter how you look at it, WW came out after MM. They're also the same franchise so they would have connections as they're made by the same people...
