no is not unnecesary to tune a drum- my friend does before we play shows because she says the skins can streatch and the knobs that hold the skins in place can shift from being hit al the time with a friggen stick. For a music video, since the sound will be placed later on it is sa little unnecessary BUT if your drums sound like shit, thats all you can think of, even when a good sound is not really necessary
