I'm British and it's quite hard to find decent american comedy that isn't race related or based around cursing (swearing) if you guys know any that's worth watching I'd appreciate you posting it....
@TheMentauk welcome to Earth, you may find interesting things such as culture, good comedy and normality. oh yeah but don't go west, it's a catchy tune but it's a bit like nazi propoganda, you follow it and you get occupied.
@Edubbplate back when i made the video i didn't have that much material, i admit if i had seen more stuff at the time i would have cut the williams and saget bits. i stand by the rock, hicks, bruce, chappelle, maher, and david ones, though.
i know, i only included the clips that seemed to match best together to make the video flow as much as possible. the comedians included are not necessarily all my favorite (definitely not bob saget, and larry david is much more subtle than the clip in included). i don't think woody allen would have been appropriate, but as for richard pryor i regret not knowing his style very well when i made the video!
EDDIE IZZARD? Are you kidding me? Besides, british banks seemed to make out pretty good with U.S. money. What about the euro? -printed by british bankers. talk about bringing the world down. Look up jerry seinfeld, or bill cosby if you want clean genius

I don't usually comment on videos but felt I had to this time. There is one very simple reason why this clip is neither funny nor politically challenging - it's because it is American stand-up. I happen to be half American / half British and appreciate both countries varying approach to comedy. Having said that, just face it, the US cannot produce decent stand-up. It is mindless, witless and simply not funny. When it comes to this type of comedy the Brits have you beat, as do the Australians.
man you might be right, but i'm italian and i never heard any australian comedians nor do i know many british ones (apart from monty python, ricky gervaise, those guys from little britain and mr. bean). what comics in particular do you refer to?
I mean in terms of pure stand-up. I've just realised that my last comment was a little on the harsh side by the way! However, I think the US are better at sit-coms and feature film comedy. The UK is widely recognised as having the best live stand-up circuit in the world. Try Jimmy Carr, Michael McIntyre, Sean Lock, Eddie Izzard, Jack Dee. The list is endless. As for the Aussies, just google it. Jim Jefferies is one of my favourites but quite dirty. Oh and there are some good Canadians too.
Oh dear oh dear. Let's see how your world domination pans out in the wake of this most recent financial crisis, (not that the Brits are going to fair much better). Unfortunately the glory days of Henry Ford and the gas-guzzling US empire are over my friend. Enjoy your long hard road to recovery, unfortunately the banks won't let you spend money that isn't yours this time.
hahaha we have been through 7 recessions since the Great Depression, and have always come out on top. Our "glory days" will live on for a loooong time my friend. We still make waay more than any other country on Earth, and second place, china, is expected to dramatically halt, and even tumble and fall by the end of 2020. And don't even get me started on Military...
What do you do for a living Andrew? And where did you get the information that China is 'expected' to fall to pieces? Was it the Metro!? I'll have a chat to you in a few years when your currency is worthless and you can't get a job. Unfortunately for me, and the other 7 billion people on this planet, the US is going to drag us all down it as much as it can. Like a drowning swimmer clinging to another.
you are wrong nick,i.m english, the yanks are probably better at stand up than the brits, but who cares, its all good anyway,if it makes you laugh does it matter where it comes from?,peace!!!................bill hicks!!!!!!!!!!!
Well we can agree to disagree. Comedy is a very personal sense of taste so I guess I was a little harsh first time round. Still, the US can't make shows like Have I Got News For You. I know it's not stand-up but I love the British humous in it.
my point was to show the wide range of subjects comedians touch, from "low" (dick jokes) to "high" (religion, politics, meaning of life...).
to me most of those jokes are funny, but maybe next time i'll put a 4 minute segment with the best airport queue jokes i can find or some "man-hates-wife" routine, if you want a more representative sample of mediocre comedy.
plus it's not my fault most of your best comedians have that kind of political views, sorry man... i was focusing on comedy.
this wasnt really comedy...it seems to be a mixture of what most foreigners would think of our foreign policy with a hint of comedic brilliance.
american comedians are much funnier than this, im dissapointed you chose to pick foreign policy issues which can be argued or debated as being correct or incorrect.
Yeah I did. and I think it does great in summing up topics within American comedy but it fails to get the funny across. U know? not really a tribute if it's not funny. but that's just me
of course i could've included funnier bits (or longer ones), but i wanted to shift from cursewords to the deep and positive messages comedians can convey. it also could have been funnier if i had put all those jokes in their contexts, but i think it would have lost some rhythm that way.
