This episode dissapointed me! I went to Greece this summer, and he only showed a tiny bit of what Greece has to offer! And where's all the women in this episode?
This ep. is a good example of Tony's cultural ignorance that he only thinly disguises as "snarky." He has his clear favorites and people/places he doesn't "get," he insults brutally. But hey, that's the French in him, I guess. He thinks he's so enlightened and worldly because he eats everything...but apart from that, he knows little more than your average tourbus-tourist. Sure, sometimes he's got some good one-liners, but mostly, he is an arrogant, foul-mouthed, offensive prick.
I agree! He has no respect for the places he visits! And who goes to Greece to eat? You go there to visit ancient ruins, and experience the culture! And where's all the women in this episode?
@briantravelman Well, if you only come to Greece for the ruins and the culture and don't try the local food, you will have missed a HUGE part of what Greece is all about.
I know, but food is just a small part of Greece. I saw EVERYTHING!!!! Ruins, islands, beaches, monsteries, food, dancing, nightlife, local culture, market.
i loved this segment. but not that spleen thing, though. a spleen is a back-up or hard drive organ, isn't it? to me, it doesn't seem correct to eat it!
Scene starting at 12:07 is absolute magic. Like almost every other scene involving a chef making something hand-made from scratch be it dough, noodles, cheese, whatever... it's ALWAYS the coolest thing that's shown on the show.
I wonder what he's complaining about when he finds out they're drinking raki. Raki is much better than ouzo, after all - it's not as sweet and Vick's Nyquilly :)))
hahahah half tony's appeal comes from that he acts like he's always down for new experiences, but somewhere in an episode he'll get worn out and sarcastic. I'm pretty sure shooting off guns, killing and eating a lamb and drinking... varnish booze... would have me making a giddy idiot of myself
he is like the Jeremy Clarkson of food world..

dandelion greens. in greek they're called "wild radikia" (like "wild radicchio") but they're more like dandelion greens than chicory.

Findet Anthony das essen wirklich so lecker? Oder Gaukelt er was vor? Das kann man nicht mit ansehen was ekliges Zeugs er sich reinzieht. Zum kotzen.
