He has more goals because he sits in the box a lot of the time and scores virtual tap-ins. Look at most of Gerrards goals, outside the box, some finishes I have never seen anyone else pull off. Search his goal vs Marseille as one example.

both are legends, but i think lampard is the better player. At chelsea you have to prove you self more to play every match, and lampard has done that for years. It's easier at liverpool to stay in the main team.

Also,lampard and gerrard are more offensive when they play for their clubs while zidane was not. So look at their england stats and compare this to zidane, zidane wins out. @Ayushinator Lampard is more box-to-box, he isn't as good a passer as Gerrard and isn't as physically strong. He can't control a game like Gerrard. He has more goals because he sits in the box a lot of the time and scores virtual tap-ins. Look at most of Gerrards goals, outside the box, some finishes I have never seen anyone else pull off. Search his goal vs Marseille as one example.

Gerrard, no doubt. Better leader/person/captain. (he actually is a captain). Not to mention more exciting to watch. Lampard is good but it's easier to pick up goals and especially assists when surrounded by excellent teammates. Final point- Fernando Torres. Went from being one of the best in the world thanks to Gerrard, to being.....well.....what he is now with Lampard.
