The Ummah was a music production collective, composed of members Q-Tip and Ali Shaheed Muhammad of A Tribe Called Quest, and the late Jay Dee (now known as J Dilla) of the Detroit-based group Slum Village. Occasional members included Raphael Saadiq, and D'Angelo.
i usually dont listen to q-tip beside the old school stuff but this album is the shittels, and just done fucking well, well i guess im a fan hell, good shit is always sticky like jelly, good music is good stuff smell me
@DamnIwannafck232 and ironically move was the best song on the album, this wasn't such a great effort by Qtip IMO, still good but not as good as I was hoping for
@DamnIwannafck232 The Renaissance Rap was produced by Dilla. I mean Q-tip sampled part of the song by dilla and just looped it (and didn't do anything else). But everything else is q-tip
i wonder if the neptunes got inspiration from here...

No, the song is ABOUT Dilla.
TheGravitationist 1 year ago
@TheGravitationist actually it's about Q-Tip's brother. He mentions Dilla in a line, but the song's mostly about Tip's brother.
