can anyone help me out i'm going to buy an electric guitar but i don't know wich one?.. i wanna play music like Daft Punks aerodynamic or the Trigun op theme.
@BoNgWaTeRdEmOn NIce! I spent like 1100 on my Peavey Classic 30 amp and my Fender American, which was a 2002 standard + locking tuners, fender/lace pups, and a different pickguard. :) The pair is definitely a match made in heaven, which is perfect because I use it a lot for worship stuff. :P
What is the tuner name model that you are using ? i love the idea of sticking it on the body for setup . Thanks a lot and you are the best source for people to do things right ....
@snakeweirdo u can buy a strat at walmart for less then a 100 dollars...no its not all about them strats bro...im sorry if my sexy guitars make u jealous, cuz u see.....the action on a strat is so retarded, ok...now go play on jackson soloist for dinky....check out the action...soooo sexy
ive had this cheap strat copy for a while, i didnt know why some chords sounded in tune and chords on different place of neck sounded out of tune im trying to intonate it and it was so bad that E string on 12th fret would be semitone too sharp omfg thats why
@timrocket2 if you want to have a good guitar for good price i can reccoment the yamaha pacifica that guitar sounds very clean and is very good for a low price i play onn it myself
are all of the saddles the same length? cause i took them and put them back on while stringing my guitar, and i might have done them out of the order they were in the first place. can anyone help me? it would mean soooo sooo much
@GALAHINA all the saddles are built exactly the same, most people (myself included) will try to make sure they put them back on in the same order just to be overly careful. One thing you may want to check if your not sure you put them back on in the right order is the height. This can be adjusted easily enough though by adjusting the little post things on the saddles (the annoying ones that dig into you hand when palm muting).
what was that second scale you jumped on. it was like blues, and then you just got on some other scale and i have no idea what it was or how to practice it. any quick info would be great. thanks :)
Adjusting the B string, 12th fret is flatter than open string, I loosen the saddle screw to make the string shorter, retune, little to no change, I keep doing it over and over, retuning and checking, little to no change. From totally tight until the screw came out of the saddle. What is wrong? Is it because the string is too old
@rleb888 it could very well be that you are using a heavier gauge string than he is.......try a set of .oo9 strings.....any brand. Also.......it could be how your guitar is adjusted. If the strings are high off the neck that could add to the problem. If your guitar has never been professionally "set-up"......bring it to a music shop and tell them to set it up with ,009 strings.....it may cost you 60 bucks but worth it if the guitar plays alot better. Good luck
i have a problem...i have a ESP MH-50 24 frets floating tremelo bridge. i can get up to the 12th fret intonated really close. 12-24 i have some strings that are up to 1 1/2 steps out .......any help would greatly be used. i cant find anything on web to help me.
i do know some guitars have a double intonation or something..but not sure of it completly
do squire strats have the same body measurements as the fender stratocasters, i want to put a better neck on my squire but im not sore it wil fit.. will it?
I only listen to music and really wish to learn how to use a guitar. I know nothing about it . do you think I'm capable of learning in my age now? am 28
your amazing, and made me feel frustrated a bit cuz ill never be as good ad you are lol
@Rezaroth It's never too late to learn how to play. Go for it. You can do anything you put your mind to, within the space of a year or two (given a bit of elbow grease) you'll be able to jam out, improvise, and be capable of playing lots of music you like. Just be consistent with short, effective practice sessions.
What is that black growth on the guitar, and should the bridge be lifted up at an angle when the strings are tuned up, or should it be flat? I have that same tremolo bridge btw.
I have a question! I just bought a blacktop fender strat HH. Supposedly the intonation setup has been already done. But I have a few issues with it. If I try to fix the intonation myself will I mess it up???
@jo951000 get a fender man its a great investment guitars last for life thats how look at it i spend a G on a laptop and now its broke after 3-4 years so i wasnt worried about paying 700 for my les paul of craigslist shit will be with me forever
that's a simple method of playing to check that the guitar is in tune and stuff. OR it's just him showing off in front of the camera. haha i wish i could play like that :(
@onetruerebublic Instead, lets just destroy idiots who think stupid shit is important, and makes big deals out of nothing. This "plan" is just as materialistic and ignorant as "modern autotune music". And AC/DC sucks. Thumbs down to your dumbass.
@AKingJohnR really and you think that what you say on youtube will effect anyone, the only thing you do when you leave a comment is just you own thoughts and my plan is something that probably no one will ever even think about doing it and I don't care.
@onetruerebublic Exactly, so why should anyone care about your opinions and attack Justin Bieber, or whatever? It is senseless and simple-minded. Oh, please help me with your speech, I can not figure out what you are trying to express "the only thing you do when you leave a comment is just you own thoughts." That last part....what the fuck kind of english is that?! I can't even respond completely because of your stupidity.
@AKingJohnR I just simply said that no one cares what anyone says on youtube and what's is the point of leave an jackass response to something you don't like and know you have actually helped my plan by fighting with me cause now when people see the fight they will go down and see what started it and you know I don't like bieber's music so I think it should be destroyed
Quick Question: What say the intonations flat and you cant move the saddle any closer due to that screw on the top E string? what options are there please?
well as many things ...it's actually more than that , to perfectly adjust intonation u need a strobo tuner which go for 700-1000 $ if u have a guy setup yr guitar ask him if he has that if he doesn't call him amateur and leave
You're a life saver! Or a nerve saver. I've been trying to get a couple of used guitars I bought intonated forever, and you're the only guy on the Internet who's got it right: if the note is sharp, move the saddle AWAY from the neck, not towards it! Everything else I read has it bass-ackwards! Now my guitars are playable! Thank you!
Having someone doing your "set up" who is experienced is very important. In a typical strat set up the following are checked and adjusted......pick-up height, neck rod adjustment, bridge/tremolo springs tighten, frets polished, fretboard cleaned and oiled, fret edges checked and filed smooth, bridge height, intonation, neck screws tightened...etc
I have a fender custom shop strat, custom classic. I want to change the pick ups, so that it has higher out put. I like the tone of this strat. May I know what pick ups they are?

The bad sound is most apparent on the bridge pickup, and fades when i move to the neck and middle pickups.
Is this an action problem or a pickup problem or anything else?
@leeguitare I'd check these things: intonation, pickup height (may be too close to the strings), and check for a high fret way up there (may need to be leveled some, this is pretty easy to do.) Good Luck.
@leeguitare dude i've been having the same problem and i havent found any way to fix it. could you send me a pm or whatever to tell me when you find a way to fix it? i'd do the same
once you have set the intonation should you ever have 2 change it again.
it doesnt matter where u put the saddles on my guitar when it has new strings the intonation is perfect.but after about a week hte high strings go flat and if you move the saddles right to the top and rite to the bottom it doesnt make a difference>
hey here's an idea how about you mention that when you turn the screw on the bridge saddle the harmonic goes out of tune so then you have to tune the string again. in most cases this is a vicious cycle where you tune your string then tune the screw and tune the string and tune the screw until the saddle screw comes out. no guide seems to mention this.
this way of adjusting the intonation doesn't work as well as if you do it by comparing the 5th harmonic on one string to the 7th harmonic in the next string.
I have problem with my strats I don't know how to level it right so that it could sound better and clearer. and where I live there isn't a guitar repair shop.
Listen kids, do yourselves a favor; go to the guitar store with your Strat. Talk to the guitar Tech about what strings you should be using, and by that I mean string size, not manufacturer. There are many manufacturers of guitar strings, just pick one. I myself like Ernie Ball Slinky strings, but like I said it's just a personal OPINION. If you're a newbie, you probably want light strings .009-.042. Then ask him to do a complete set-up on your guitar, about $40.00, and well worth it.
OK im wondering why my bridge is coming out of the body, is that just bad springs? losing their tension? i tightend the nuts in the front part of the brdige on top, but that just raises it up more out of the body. if anyone else knows plz help! thx
ya im a noob lol, i have 3 springs in my strat, and the tightener was only halfway tightened.. so i tightened it nice and good and its perfect now, still some pop out when i use the trem, but ill just buy another spring to help with that probably, thx
well i broke my whammy bar and a little piece of it got stuck in the bridge. im thinking of removing the bridge so i can also remove the stucked piece of my whammy bar but i am afraid that if i do it it might affect my guitar in any way ..:s CAN SOME ONE PLIZZ HELP ME! my guitar is a squier stratocaster!
haha, I thought I was the only one who had that problem, I had to get the bridge out of the guitar to finally pull the broken piece out with tools, after a series of failed attempts or you can allways get a new bridge anyway..
I had been told that my guitar needed the bridge set up properly.... thank for the Video..

@rleb888 hi,it could be 1 of 3 things:either
the action is too high, check youtube for how to change it,
the strings you are using are too 'heavy; thick
or the string is gettong caught on something most propably the frets(if one has been dented it can make the fret sharp and even snap your strings)
hope you find an answer...

@leeguitare dude i've been having the same problem and i havent found any way to fix it. could you send me a pm or whatever to tell me when you find a way to fix it? i'd do the same
thanks
ArmendarizBlood 1 year ago
@ArmendarizBlood i still haven't completely fixed it, but i fixed the intonation (like in the vid) and it helped it out a little.
leeguitare 1 year ago
@leeguitare amm ok
i've found that the strings have a lot to do with this issue
i'll buy another set today, maybe the string is the problem and not my guitar.

@12345678ix I think that's the American Texas Lonestar Strat that came out in the `90's. It has a Duncan Pearly Gates in the bridge.

weaponx29 2 years ago
you can ask your local guitar shop to do it for you tho ;)
i just bought my strat to the shop in order to change my brdige pickup, theyre chargin me 25£ (brittish pounds)
WillPG1212 2 years ago
once you have set the intonation should you ever have 2 change it again.
it doesnt matter where u put the saddles on my guitar when it has new strings the intonation is perfect.but after about a week hte high strings go flat and if you move the saddles right to the top and rite to the bottom it doesnt make a difference>
HELP

does the level of the saddle affect the intonation?

hey...my guitar buzzez...if im not playing it..it buzzez a lot....what should i do?
weaponx29 2 years ago
a. check amp and cables for problems
b. get new guitar
c. replace pickups (for strat single coils dimarzio or lace sensors are good)
d. get the boss ns-2 that eleminates all buzzkill and feedbacks (worth the investment)
CoombesKidd 2 years ago
uhm dude...my guitar is new...but its only local made...not a fender....and im using a zoom g1x...maybe i should consult a guitar technician..
weaponx29 2 years ago
if ur desperate get the boss ns-2, it gets rid of all buzz and feedback no matter what amp, guitar, and effects you use

so this is how you do a setup on a strat?
zer0frk 2 years ago
thank you. i never bothered about the screws and took notice about this thing with the octave to be fine.
Tubenjunge 2 years ago
hey here's an idea how about you mention that when you turn the screw on the bridge saddle the harmonic goes out of tune so then you have to tune the string again. in most cases this is a vicious cycle where you tune your string then tune the screw and tune the string and tune the screw until the saddle screw comes out. no guide seems to mention this.
xorcyst1 2 years ago
Wow, I had no idea you had to turn the screwdriver so much. I've been turning mine about 1/8th turn each time and wondering why it's not working.
agger08 2 years ago
you need to have new strings set up when you are setting the intonation
RevilationGuitar91 2 years ago
this way of adjusting the intonation doesn't work as well as if you do it by comparing the 5th harmonic on one string to the 7th harmonic in the next string.

OK im wondering why my bridge is coming out of the body, is that just bad springs? losing their tension? i tightend the nuts in the front part of the brdige on top, but that just raises it up more out of the body. if anyone else knows plz help! thx
Despotes518 2 years ago
Your probably using big strings. I had the same problem, so I just added 2 more springs.
terryrouge 2 years ago
ya im a noob lol, i have 3 springs in my strat, and the tightener was only halfway tightened.. so i tightened it nice and good and its perfect now, still some pop out when i use the trem, but ill just buy another spring to help with that probably, thx
Despotes518 2 years ago
Mine does the same thing. it's hard to use the tremelo bar cause it's practically hitting the pickguard

deathlocker142 2 years ago
haha, I thought I was the only one who had that problem, I had to get the bridge out of the guitar to finally pull the broken piece out with tools, after a series of failed attempts or you can allways get a new bridge anyway..
nicomurder 2 years ago
I wouldn't remove the bridge. I don't think that would help remove it at all.
