The man was nuts and eventually was excommunicqted. Thank God we finally did find the real truth throught the work of the Holy Spirit. Ask one of them what grace is. They will not be able to answer.

Deut 13:1-5 false prophet can actually do signs and wonders and have them come to pass. It is if he/she tells you to go after other gods (or tells you that you don't have to keep torah) that makes them a false prophet. If you look up the definition of wicked or wicken ones, it means "lawless one/s" or in other words "without torah". God blows out the "Lamp" of the "wicked ones" In Psalms Torah is referred to as the Lamp of my Feet. This is what the Parable of the foolish virgins teaches.

It's good that your colleague doesn't rant at you, but I don't think it's fair to take this as a sign that ex-members are getting too worried about it. I also left this group a few years ago, by God's grace. After leaving I saw the real "Truth" and was born again. My heart truly breaks for all who are mislead by this doctrine, because I believe it is keeping them out of heaven. What a tragedy. I think their truth is mixed in with just enough error to keep people from salvation, but just enough truth to give them a false sense of security. Daniel, any thoughts on how to witness to them, since I still have family in this group?
I too am dealing with the aftermath of this "cult" or "way of life" It renders you practically useless in society. And it's for a reason, to drive you back into the "cult". I grew up to believe education, information, questions were the work of the devil. To fear was to love. To not ask questions was to go in faith. It has caused me to have a "black hole" for any religion or existence of any god. This way of life stole my soul, stole my life, stole my existence.
hey daniel, i am still living with my parents who go to meetings, its hard for me to get away, i professed when i was 12 in canada but quit 2 years ago, i just cant seem to escape it!
I work with a 2x2 and he seems quite normal, he doesn't get over-excited about God or anything like that. I feel you guys are getting to worried about it
indeed i find the same, they dont get overly excited about God, which is a sure indicator that they dont understand the Gospel and havent been born again
I am Christian, being Christian is not about being born again or playing who loves Jesus most or how will i get into heaven unless i stop this that or the other.
Jesus was jewish, the only thing he didn't do was eat pork, he drunk wine, he had a normal life for the most part.
Christians need to look at what he chose to do with his life and how he did things, not twist it to their own selfish crap.
The Friends and Workers deny that Jesus Christ is true God and true man. Thomas the apostle called Him God and the pharisees sought to stone Him because He said He was God. The cults all try to bring Christ down from the Godhead. I hope that many of the Friends see these videos and leave the cult as soon as posssible. They will be shunned but at least will be free of the Workers false teachings.

I had an amazing friend that grew up in this faith and I tried to learn as much about it as possible and through research have found many of the similarities you speak of.
