If you upload a video containing material that is an infringement of copyright, YT bots catches it and stops you from posting. The comparison has to do with laws concerning content. Most reputable sites hold comments until they are authorized, even YT provides me that capability. If you uploaded videos you would know these things.
dawgnpony: That "comment pending approval" option on YouTube is pretty annoying, and it drives people away from your channel. It sometimes takes forever for the video owner to approve your comment, and by that time, the video is old news (if it was a video about a recent news event).
Nobody is going to visit your blog or message board if their comments have to be "approved" every time. It feels like censorship, and it makes it difficult to have a quick discussion.

I happen to know the owner of this channel and I can promise you that he would never put a photo of any child up and ask for captions.. as he is intelligent to know the kind of thing that would invite. I am quite certain that he has a certain amount of control as far as what people post and if anything highly inappropriate were to happen he would remove the comments just as quickly as they came in. In fact if it were that bad he would probably even take down his video. So would I.

Smartassawhip: Someone did a screen capture of that Free Republic Malia news post, and they did NOT do a "caption contest" as that idiot on MSNBC mistakenly stated.
You can post anonymous comments below EVERY news post on Free Republic.
The volunteer moderators have other jobs and lives outside of the Internet. They can't read the THOUSANDS of incoming anonymous posts 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Why don't YOU volunteer at Free Republic and monitor it for vulgar content?

I would have to see that for myself in order to believe that. I wouldn't volunteer at Free Republic for the same reason that I would not hang out at a KKK meeting. I choose not to surround myself virtually or otherwise with the type of people that website obviously caters to.

I can pretty much agree with referring to the MSM commentator here as "that idiot", although technically his intelligent is no doubt adequate. The problem is his emotional maturity and integrity/social responsibility.

He says he didn't know it and I believe him. He assumed the joke was about Bristol. Given the context of the joke it is fairly obvious it was meant to be about Bristol.. after all they are teasing her about getting knocked up.. Willow has not gotten knocked up yet has she? Use your head. Still he apologized anyway. Isn't forgiveness a huge part of Palin's religion? Yet she chose not forgive Dave's MISTAKE.. maybe she picks and chooses when she practices her religion. Figures.

I have his word for it and his writers verified it.. He had nothing to gain by lying about a joke.. The joke really only made sense if Bristol was the punchline.. the other way the joke would have been Lame. Willow has never been in the spot light.. Bristol has.. I have never seen Dave make a joke about anyone who wasn't in the spot light before. It is a matter of common sense really.

You continuously demand proof of someone's viewpoint via links documents etc, yet you don't provide proof in your allegations or viewpoints.
It always seems the right must provide proof whereas the left merely says so and it instantly becomes fact.
There is nothing wrong with having political leanings but it is clear you have a strong bias.

There are crazy people on both sides of the aisle. I heard some people insinuate that about the Palin baby.. but they were the same people who also think that the Pope rules the world.. we are going into concentration camps.. health care reform will kill us all etc.. My friend don't care for Palin and I can assure you I have never heard any of them make fun of that baby in any context joking or otherwise. We do however make fun of Palin.. well because it's Palin.

ANYONE can go to Free Republic right now and leave an anonymous vulgar comment under any news post on Free Republic, and then you can give MSNBC a call and cry, "I can't believe this conservative wrote this vicious comment!"

It's even easier to install a bot that key on inflammatory words and holds the comments for authorization. This "moderators" claptrap is just a ruse. For freerepubic to not install bots is willful negligence and thereby makes them accountable for content much like broadcasters not using a 5 second delay are considered responsible for 'live' content.

TranCendenZ, I have a web site with bots and I am not a "sophisticated broadcast news station". If you upload a video containing material that is an infringement of copyright, YT bots catches it and stops you from posting. The comparison has to do with laws concerning content. Most reputable sites hold comments until they are authorized, even YT provides me that capability. If you uploaded videos you would know these things.

dawgnpony: That "comment pending approval" option on YouTube is pretty annoying, and it drives people away from your channel. It sometimes takes forever for the video owner to approve your comment, and by that time, the video is old news (if it was a video about a recent news event).
Nobody is going to visit your blog or message board if their comments have to be "approved" every time. It feels like censorship, and it makes it difficult to have a quick discussion.

TCZ: Once more... many reputable sites use bots and comment authorization when the content requires some monitoring. I'm not surprised that those from the instant gratification generation would be annoyed. Adults understand that with certain content, a person with a particular bent towards inflammatory and hurtful remarks concerning a minor should be monitored.
