  • This virtual sculpting is a different paradigm than the box modeling I'm used to. It's something I'm gonna have to figure out.

Also I wouldn't be too surprised if you came up with a way for this to make decent displacement maps for animatable low-poly meshes. I think the Z-brush people may have reason to get nervous.

  • is it for mac?

  • looks very nice although he looks a little cro magnon : )

maybe study how those who do face reconstruction with clay sculpts and mimic that

  • These videos are so relaxing to watch...

The beginning of this model looks like a cat :)

I'm so psyched for this project!

  • The problem with this is that once you get any kind of detail the model gets too heavy. 3D Coat suffers from this same problem. ZBrush solves it by using "pixols".

  • I don't see it as a problem in 3DC, it's just the point where you're finished the voxel phase of the sculpting.

  • This is a very interesting project, some random thoughts about what I've seen so far:

    1) the orange highlight under the cursor could be cool but make difficult to understand how you're modifying the forms behind it.

    2) the zoom effect on the button could probably be annoying while working.

The lighting while modeling is very cool, I like it!

    Keep up the good work!

  • Amazing stuff!

Sell the code to NewTek for Core....

  • Like, no lie, you are a damn coding genius! This looks way easier to use than stupid annoying Blender.

    Keep up the good work!

  • this is a sculpting tool, blender is a full modelling suite(that contains a weak sculpting tool), so it's kinda apples and oranges.

  • You're quite fast with this project.

By the way, will there be an option to disable the symmetricity?

  • Symmetry will be optional. At first there will only be a choice none or horizontal symmetry, but there's no reason why I couldn't add any planar symmetry (x/y/z/arbitrary) or even spherical or cylindrical symmetry.

  • That pretty cool DrPetter. The interface appears to be very intuitive and it looks like it works really well when modelling organic objects. I sense that it would be nice if you could add resistance to the "clay" so you would be able to lock down (or restrict) areas that you are happy.

  • Masking is an excellent idea! I've already implemented it now, and it's very cool to work with :)
