  • Wonderful. What leads a vibe musicianto Early music? I will be following your videos!

  • @janithw Thank you very much for the compliment!

I believe that it doesn't matter what instrument you play, it's important to only "what" and "how." And about early music on vibes: "Everyone has the right not to be a contemporary of his own" (Marina Tsvetaeva, a famous Russian poet).

  • Such a beautiful performance, the details of the music really come to life - and it sounds like a dance, not like a difficult piece (which it is!). The ornaments look frighteningly difficult but sound light and perfect. Thank you!

  • Wahooo - what a fabulous bit of work: it's scarily tough counterpoint, that, and sounds great :)

  • if you fancie a challenge, have a look at some c. p.e bach, solffeggieto

  • @mallis182 Thanks for the suggestion. If you're referring to this work [imslp.info/files/imglnks/usimg/f/f5/IMSLP02573-Bach__CPE_-_Solfeggietto.pdf] it's easier performed on vibes than any Byrd's dances, for example. Wherever there is only one melodic line, there are no great problems :) for the vibraphone arrangement even at a fast tempo.

  • it's pizdiets!!!

  • wow,excellent,excellent.

  • музыкальный шок!!!!)))

    спасибо!!!

  • @Jcc477 I am a representative of the Russian classical music school in action :) All my musical arrangements I am writing myself. (I'm not a prude. You can swear if you so easy to say). Thank you for comment

  • I don't know much about the Vibraphone, but I think you did an excellent job interpreting this piece for that instrument. Keep the music alive, bra!

  • Fantastic. It's so beautiful to see someone do make such a strong, complete, and well-developed statement on the vibraphone. You are expanding the borders of the way I think about the instrument!

In a sea of videos of bad Burton impressions, this is truly worth watching over and over. Thank you.

  • Thank you, James! All I'm trying to do on the vibraphone is impossible without a literate audience.

  • Beautiful. As a percussionist, you have a much better sense of rhythm (except for the one small error) than most harpsichordists! Will you be playing more music by England's greatest composer for us?

  • Thank you. You'll laugh, but a few hours ago I received a parcel from UK with two volumes of Musica Britannica :) God willing, I'll make some recordings yet. Stay tuned!

  • What did I miss out? a bit of gluckenspiel? (I'm not sure how to spell that)...

And who or what is GG?

  • Let me not to divulge some secrets :) GG is Glenn Gould (I thought that a Canadian could have guessed this).

  • Very Beautiful, Yan!

You make the vibraphone sound like a cross between the organ and the harpsichord and maybe a touch of water organ. I love it!

  • Thank you, I'm glad to know that you like my sound.

How are you could read my thoughts? :) You guessed right all the ingredients of my audio mix. Well... almost all :)

(And Canada is my dream. Some day maybe I'll come to Toronto, closer to GG)

  • Man, that cat is doing some moving with that traditional grip. Bravo

  • Only the Lord knows how it turns out, man. Thank you

  • Amazing Yan!

And you're right: it looks strangely nearly "easy" on the video, though it's def. not!

    Great job!

  • wow that was beautiful!

  • astonishing! you play very very well and it was not easy at all!

  • Grazie, signore! Pleasant when you praise

  • This is beautiful !!!

  • Marvelous!
