This doctor could have done a better job if he hadnt cut so deep with the first incision he made which went right through the nail and into the skin under it causing it to bleed.

The syringe hurts...but after that you feel nothing. Unfortunately, my nail grew back..which I'm really sad about. I never touched it never went to the spa and it all grew back.

Sometimes they use a gel or spay to numb the toe before even using the novicane. Like when you go to get a tooth removed.

I just had mine moved on both feet and it was a breeze and didn't hurt at all. I got the chemical b/c I don't want them to grow back. I had my mp3 to listen to b/c i didn't want to hear the clipping. Yayyyy me so happy and free of pain!! It was done about a week ago 07/13/11

@chuckreoo999 My brother had this done when he was about 18 months old. All he did was sit there with his bottle in mouth and watch it get done. No cries, no nothing. If a baby can do it, you can do it. o_O

When I was 13 my dad did this for me at home. Wasn't numbed and he used tweezers, toe nail clippers and his pocket knife...hurt like a bitch but I haven't had an ingrown toenail since.

@skatementality99 my doctor gave me 7 needles in my toe to numb it, it hurts for a minute or two, then during the removal your fine. afterwards when the numbness goes away it hurts like hell

I have had this done a few times and my toe nail completely removed. The first shot is like a bee sting followed by large amounts of pressure. you should be fine.

@SGTSnEAkypAnTs well that wasnt me, but i have had one removed. it doesnt hurt because they numb it with 4 needles. thats the only part that hurts. It stayed numb about 12 hours for me but then it sort of stings once the numbness dies off :P
