Any tips for the nightmare that is Ramblin' Man. It's a very odd song and I know it's alt strumming, but I can't get the pattern down. Tips for that would be awesome.

I always down-stum and don't shift my hand{I share index and middle finger for green, red and yellow and use ring for blue and use pinky for orange and use my hand stationary} like everyone says to and it works well for me

Your tutorial is the only one that I saw that was ACTUALLY good for ANYTHING and I'm going to try to alt-strum using your tutorial to see if it might work for me

im good at alt strumming its just when im about to finish a line of notes when im alt strumming at the end of the notes i allways miss a few after strumming fast.

Practicing alt strummig is really important if you play the real guitar, so it's great that you show people how to do it on Rock Band aswell :)

Whoa... I tried the song I got stuck on that I was stuck on for like a month on Expert right after I watched this and I just down strummed and I couldn't do it on Hard and barely on Med and I beat it with one try after I watched!!! this video is magic!!!

alternate strumming is up and down and up and down and so on and so forth instead of just strumming downwards =D it helps to strum alot faster.

Note: I don't have Rock Band 2 or a guitar controller, but I do have a real guitar so I can tell what alt. strummimg is, cya. (It would be nice if I had the money to buy RB2 =/)

if im not mistaken .....alt strumming is both strumming up and down ...not just down...if this is the case....it has actually helped me a lot esp on some of those constant solos that have little to no pauses..

No, that's just stupid. Thrasher on bass is a lot better, it's just a bit over the limit and there's a lot more strumming.

If you learn to alt strum all the time you will become better than down summing all the time until fast parts come up

It's just another method of handling alt-strumming sections. Do whatever works for you--I'm giving details that I found helpful for myself and may help others who don't want to go cold turkey on downstrumming yet.

its only hard at first i ended up just doing easier songs alt strumming the entire thing. i got used to it eventually its second nature to me now as i alt strum nearly everything now. as everything practice
