FULLTONE OCTAFUZZ - sounds fuller and more transparent, seems to have more usable tones
ELITE TONE FILLMORE THUNDER - octave sounds squashier, fuzz alone without octave sounds thinner and not as fuzzy, seems to cover a wider range of tones
***like always, it depends on what other gear you're using, how all of your gear complements/works against each other, what sound you're looking for, how it feels, and what you're willing to pay.***
all my fuzz pedals sound better with an amp 50 in front of it, kind of like when the fuzzes are played through a slightly cranked up amp, which is what these pedals might have been designed for
@JimiPlaysWoodstock Definately, nothing beats a cranked amp and switching fuzz on so when you play soft it's full of tone and clean, when you hit harder you get that natural crack and when you hit really hard the Fuzz kicks in 8D;
my only worry is that the fuzz side of the Fillmore is absolutely sweet and unbeatable but the octave side + the fuzz slightly kills the volume. I think thats mabye why I still like the Fulltone. But for my, i'd say the Fillmore kills, it's more versatile, it has gain control and you can choose the octave on it's own. And plainly because it's fuzz side sounds like it's a real fuzz on it's own, not like it was designed blocked together, Fuzz and Octave, they sound like they were made seperate.
Octafuzz sounds wilder and more agressive and chaotic. The Elite fuzz sounds a bit overcompressed to my ears, though with some nice options and sounds, like cleanish octave which is nice. But I think Octavefuzz sounds a lot more musical and useful. I see them going pretty cheap actually on ebay and such.
fillmore is better ounding and more versatile. it has more knobs and has the clean octave unlike the octafuzz. how much is the fulltone because knowing that company it's probably more expensive than the $150 fillmore.
I have the Fulltone. It's killer. But I really like the way the Filmore Thunder you can easily switch the octave on and off with your foot rather than that little switch. It's an improvement. Both are about the same price.
Of the 2, I prefer the Filmore Thunder. It didnt sound quite as brittle as the Octofuzz. Sounded a wee bit smoother to my ears anyway. As always 5 stars for another great Gearmanndude demo.
Mongo sense hostility here, hostility make Mongo's head hurt, head hurt make Mongo crazy, crazy make Mongo crazy. Mongo tired, Mongo take fuzz pedal smash face. Mongo face hurt now, Mongo have face fuzz and Mongo have Facebook, Mongo have fuzzface. Mongo tired, Mongo sleep no. Mongo eat mongo, taste like Mongo. Mongo say bye.
I think they both sounded pretty good. Guess it just boils down to what you plan on playing and sound preference. I'm a Fulltone junkie myself (already have the O-fuzz), but I think I actually like the tonal range of the Elite better.
you are the people that suck at demoing pedals. he's not going for an amazing tone to record an album with. he needs to show the complete differences between the pedals and what they do to a straight guitar signal.
go play on your ibanez jam pack and leave the grown ups alone
im flattered that your stalking me but your the one who has made no technical sense with what your saying. you said something stupid out of ignorance and i pointed it out. i believe that means im right, despite the fact im young enough to still play a gig every two nights.
im happy to see that your adding bigotry to your list of outstanding faults and erroneous views concerning not only the guitar but ways of life as well. you, my friend, are everything that should be ignored in society at large. too bad you have to prove your worth on you tube during a simple guitar pedal demo video. Im 21 years old and much more of a person than you've proven yourself to be.

Wow, the Elite Tone seriously fucks up the sound when the octave is kicked in, but the fuzz alone is wicked! I'm staying with my Octafuzz here

i notice that with all the videos you do, you never use a power adapter for the fulltone octafuzz, why is that?

I don't like it either when fuzzes sound like they are gated above certain point and you hit the string for nothing :) it's not that playable to me
