  • Bravo!!!

  • Beautiful.

  • thats an Apex twin song horray!

  • I am starting to learn this piece, having finally come across some sheet music on the Interwebs. (I don't play piano. Trying to teach myself.)

Your finger postures amaze me. Watching your fingers dance, I hope to emulate your technique. How long does it take to play so well? And how are you able to reach so far apart? I can barely do more than one note above an octave.

I see that you have changed the music a bit, and your interpretation is very nice. Do you simply omit the final Eb's?

  • @ytube737

thanks so much! :) I have pretty long fingers already but not so long...the e to the next g up (10th) is really really hard to reach but the rest are pretty reachable for me. I've been playing...13 years. 11 years when I had recorded this. Haha...yes I did change it quite a bit, didn't I...woops! I didn't buy the music, just learned it by ear which i'm getting better at but is still very imperfect and at this point, I knew it wasn't quite the same but I couldn't hear what was.

  • how long have you been playing? i just started and i hope to one day be able to play like you!

  • Aphex Twin! Try covering mathematical equation next lol

  • bravo!

  • Maaaan I'm jealous! I'd just about chop off one of my balls to be able to play the piano.

  • That was beautiful!! This song makes me want to cry for some reason.

  • Me too

And With The song Jynweythek Ylow By Aphex Twin

  • yeah that one too

  • mee too:D

  • merci pour cette version un peu décalée de l'originale, je suis fan !

  • You did this by ear? That's really impressing! This is one of my favorite songs of all time.

  • i like your ending better. Magnificent.

  • Wonderful! It was refreshing to hear this song with your own twist. Five stars, missus.

Though, why is Marie Antoinette in the title? Was this song in the movie?

  • Before that movie there was, you know, history.

  • No way, really? You mean like, time actually existed before Miley Cyrus? Trippy, man...

Considering the small population of reasons that the name of a historical figure with a movie named after her life would be in a modern song title, it's really not an outrageous question.

  • love it!

  • nobody plays avril 14th like aphex twin

  • its better than copying the exact same way

  • and why is that , if u mean its good to be creative then i guess

  • yeah...embarassingly, I changed the end because back when I did this I didn't have a recording to listen to over and over again; just doing it from memory, and I couldn't quite "hear" the chord progression. To my ears I did have the correct ending. Of course now you can hear that it's quite different. We'll leave it as an interesting little quirk for now. :)

  • pretty good

  • ur freakking good :)

  • Beautiful, well done

  • the artist who wrote this song is Aphex Twin

  • marie antoniette? its aphex twin

  • This song was in the Sophia Coppola movie "Marie Antoinette"

  • It doesnt get any better than this. A beautiful woman playing a beautiful song. 6 out of 5 stars.

  • Russia loves U , Marie!

  • wunderschön :)

  • Wow.... that is amazing. to say the least.

    you have magic fingers hahah.

  • well done, for just playing by ear. it feels like a different version of the original. i like it a lot though. i wish i could play songs by ear.

  • c'est pourri ta version vraiment moisie

  • great play bravo

  • it's not perfect, but to have picked up that much by ear is incredible! props to you =)

  • bravissimo!

  • great!!

  • not too fuckin bad.

  • numerosi errori,pessimo orecchio!

  • is it me, or do you seriously have to tune that guitar?

  • guitar oO...

  • haha wow what the, okay that's supposed to be piano :')

  • i think you should have the creater of the song between those parenthasis, not stupid marie antoinette

  • @imalitlecloud I do believe it is a Marie Antoinette original. She composed the ditty on her return to the parlour following that whole 'let them eat cake' fiasco. Naturally the date was April 14th. This explains why the song title is in French.

  • Comment removed

  • @nichoji try again. the artist is Aphex Twin, album is Drukqs

  • ah this is amazing. i figured this song out by ear too. its amazing how people hear chords differently - you've definatly figured out some missing harmonies for me. i find this song more fiddly to play than other more complex pieces.

  • Yes, when it was recorded originally it wasnt even played by hand. Understandably akward to play for that reason, and because I often play it.

  • absolutely ace, well done!

  • oh my god!!!I was looking for this song!!!!!Thank you:):):):)Good job!4

  • Bravo!!! Excelent!

    I love this song!

  • Bravissima!

  • beautiful job by the way! you are a beautiful pianist!

  • I really want to see if Aphex twin has anymore songs like this

  • rhubarb is pretty chilled.

  • his only piano songs in this style are on drukqs. stone in focus is very very good if you want something ambient

  • Like you mentioned, not 100% true to the original, but beautifully played nonetheless.

  • Wow, relax.

  • It sounds very familiar. I certainly wouldn't have guessed it was Aphex Twin! I've always wished I could play the piano like that. You'd never be able to drag me away from it if I could. That was beautiful.

  • nice

  • you have some switched notes.

  • one of my favorite aphex twin songs...

  • very, very well done. I love this song.

  • i love like you play song this music :*

  • Woah, this was absolutely amazing.

  • wonderful!!! i love this song

  • That was beautifully insane.

  • if i wasn't already in love i would have fallen for you...

  • You are a genius! I love this song!

    5 stars!

  • Actually this song is from Aphex Twin.

  • beautiful!

  • How corny it is of me to be attracted to you because of this.

    5 stars

  • Very.

  • Incredible!

  • Beautiful!

    Your playing too.

  • C cool!! j'aime beaucoup! jvais essayer de m'y mettre aussi!

  • Take it as a compliment from a long time aphex fan that this was an absolutely beautiful rendition of one of RD James' more profound pieces. You absolutely captured the point of this song, and the fact that you did it by ear shows you have an amazing talent. Truly a worthy video, well done! :)

  • beautiful interpretation ! It's a bit different, but I prefer this version than the original... and you play the piano very well ;)

thks you for sharing your talent :)

  • ohhh, this is different, but wow, I really like end of this version. 1:11 - end is so interesting to listen to!

  • this is absolutely beatiful. better rendition than the original. i love you

  • definitely a different arrangement than rdj's, but good nonetheless :) good job

  • i'd let you push me into a bush....and i'd just look up and go...oh...fair enough or..walk into my house...and knock over all my cups...i'd probly even thank you for it

  • Nice, you used different notes in some areas but it worked and sounded beautiful.

  • I get the same static on my copy of the song as played by Aphex twin, like little hisses and pops..

  • that's because it's a prepared piano piece

  • Sorry but i don't found this partition !!

i love can you send me ?? tell me for give me this !

  • i don't know anything about reading music- i've worked out Opus 36 by ear but for some reason my piano is sharp for the first note on this song X( its driving me crazy!

  • if her music sound, all my words and sentences means nothing.

  • Marry me, please.

  • i like that you aren't trying to copy it exactly but just playing the concept of it.

    good job.

i think richard james (aphex twin)played avril 14 on a piano with some screws in between the higher strings.

the album avril 14 is from (drukqs) has several other songs played on a prepared piano.

  • He did not use screws but chains. He used chains on the piano chords to get the effect he wanted.Influenced by Jhn Cage who actually used SCREWS....

  • Johnny Cage?

  • actually he invented his own "prepared piano technique" with no knowledge of what john cage had already done.

  • very beautiful

  • i love the way you move ur hands when u play.

you have an amazing musical ear

  • so beautiful melody! i loved the movie and now im inlove with this soundtrack lol

  • I think that is Richard playing.

  • Magnifique!!

    very beautiful!!

amazing interpretation of Avril 14th =D

  • Very beautiful!

  • amazing. well done! your piano sounds a lot like richards! wonderful job!

  • I love this song and the scene when she is walking up the lagre staircase and their dresses are blowing in the wind. it wa a beautiful scene and they picked the best song for it.

    you recited it very well.

  • Well done Marie Antoinette.

  • lol Marie Antoinette is tha name of the movie that the song was in lol.

  • I would credit the piece to Richard D. James (aka Aphex Twin) and not Marie Antoinette (even though it was on the soundtrack of that lacklustre movie). Good job though.

  • omg youre really good! i wish i had the sheet music :(

  • nice job. youre beautiful too :p

  • at 0:09 it's not suppose to descending but ascending (original). Fine job tho.

  • a bit too fast in some moments ... but hey its from a guy who doesn't know how to play a piano so don't get offended.... i'm just jealous

  • I love this song!

    Good jobb.

It's not exactly the same but...

    I wish I could play it =(

  • wow its sounds almost the same!! a few differences from the original piece! but it sounds great!!!

    congrats!

  • you're very good

  • I love this song =D

    You play it very well!

Do you have any sheet music? I can't find it anywhere Could you please help me? I am desperate

    x

  • Tifus is a dumb bish. I'd like to them play anything then talk.

I'll buy the food if you want to go out sometime.

  • beautiful.

  • id marry this girl fair play to her !!

  • It's by Aphex Twin, I suggest you change the description to say that lest people confuse it. Good playing but you're off on quite a few places. There are loads of Avril 14th videos here on youtube, check them out and listen!

  • beautifull, good interpretation ! do you have the partition of this piece of music ?

  • Well done!

  • Que hermoso. Ese tema es realmente genial. Me gustaría encontrar la partitura para hacer una arreglo en flauta traversa :P

Sigue así, tocas muy bien ^^

  • i can't read music so i too, am taking this one on by ear. nice job clockworkfairie

  • nice T^T

  • nice ear pick. Can you give me an overview of the chords your playing?

  • ok. It's an Fm/Ab, (yeah it's a stretch; in single notes, it's like Ab->F->Ab->C), Fm/C, Ab/Db, Bbm. if you need more clarifying just ask. ^^

  • C'est fabuleusement bien interprété !! Magnifique !

  • I've always wanted to learn how to play the piano, but after hearing the GORGEOUS music from Marie Antoinette I've been DIEING to. I went ahead and bought Dustin O'Halloran's sheet music so Dad could play it for me! I'm still trying to find Avril 14th, so if anyone knows where I can get please reply!

  • Avril 14th is actually a piece the electronica artist Aphex Twin wrote for piano. The original version is of his album drukqs. Buy it, its one of my favourite albums

  • mine too.

  • currently working this out by ear right now.

when i first heard this i couldn't believe it was aphex.

    beautifully played, by the way.

  • ++--n-ice

  • very nice, great sound, so calming. I want to learn how to play the piano one day...

  • Wow... its as if this piano was made just to play this exact song

  • Can I have your piano please? Just kidding. Anyway, amazing job on this. You have a lot of talent, I may even like your version of the song better than Aphex Twin.

  • haha^^ it's actually the school piano. I wish it was mine, too. ;) Thanks very much; your comment means a lot to me.

  • bosendorfer... beautiful piano and beautiful performance!! good job! bye!

    :)

  • Excellent job!

  • Very nice

  • excellent, Dont listen to J444n, hes an ass.

  • You shoulda better listen to the Mt St Michel Mix the tracks that is just before Avril 14th.

You've got a good audio memory though

  • You can actually get the score by googling for it, but your version sounds very much like it. =] I'm learning it right now.

  • i love this song so much. well played!!

  • nice

  • wonderful! you play so well.

and this song made marie antoinette feel even more beautiful than it already was.

  • you are so right...i loved the way this piece was played, as you saw the beautiful flawless sunrise over Versailles...

    *sigh*

  • Incredible. You changed some of the notes, and it worked out excellently. Very talented girl =)

  • very very good!!

where did you get the sheet???

  • absolutly amazing

  • i love it!!

    BEAUTIFUL<33

  • you play beautifully. i also made a video of this song. watch?v=TzvF2UZLDlo

  • beautiful

    nice work

i love the ending the most

  • Yeah according to my wording one listens with the eye apparently...^^; ear-picking* my bad ._.

  • it's all good ^_^ thanks for such a lovely comment!

  • You're unbelievably skilled bravo bravo ! For an eye-picking that is breathtaking...The way you've thrown a few new notes in according your feelings, it gives an almost better rendering than the original...

    5/5 v^.^v

  • I don't think I'm cool; it would be nice to write down the notes, but I'm sure to made a mistake somewhere; and I'm already taking 17 hours at my college and working 2 jobs to help out my family; time is very precious. It's not that I don't want to; I simply don't have the extra time! :) please understand. I have quite a few very good friends who love me for me, and not my talents; if you judge your friends by whether they'll write up sheet music for you or not; how is that friendship?

  • Why don't you actually make a GOOD video, then maybe I'll let your remarks on other people's videos slide.

  • hey! do you have this written down, the notes and such?

  • hi! ^_^ I don't, sorry. I could, but it would be a big use of my time.

  • how would it be a waste..

  • Hey this is really lovely - you are a great pianist =]

Is this very hard to learn? Would you rate it easy, moderate or difficult?

  • This song is SOOO Pretty1

    =]]

  • Not exact, but I still absolute
