  • You should put the little scene of Kevin Spacey's face dead at the table.

  • Those guys eye brows are scary.

  • you could see little globs of brain on the wall

  • he killed him because he grew up with society rejecting any gay acts and he was sexually frustrated and thought his son was doing gay stuff with a neighbor he found attractive and was the only gay option he had and his son took it, so he then finds out he misunderstood he was gay and kills him cuz he was really frustrated...?

  • Why did he kill Kevin Spacey again?

  • He loved him and shot him because he idnt like him back

  • He thought he saw his son sucking his dick

  • @Imran500 He was so ashamed of his homosexuality that when Lester rebuffs him Col. Fitts kills him. His own repression and shame led him to murder.

  • @Imran500 no he kill him just once

  • a wife who understands how much she loves her husband only after he is dead....what we have by our side, we don't appreciate

  • Chris Cooper did a great job playing the character of Frank Fitts

  • BOOM HEADSHOT!

  • Was that the homo- bashing dad that kissed him in the garage?

  • yep.

  • jajaj the marine probably was gay during the war when he was in service. . . and I think Col. Fitt kill because Lester knew at thet point that he was gay

  • best movie ever.

  • 201 ownage

  • lol i love the army guys charade he put on for the whole neigbourhood and especially fooling his son for a time

  • The guy that gets shot is such a good actor his character is always so complex yet so simple his movies are great and i just cant wait to see another..

  • kevin spacey

  • Oh: another motive for the murder may have been to keep Spacey's character quiet now that he knew his neighbor's dark secret!

  • BTW, Chris Cooper is also an astonishingly good actor, along with Spacey!!

  • "Samurai8": Well, maybe your question got a thumbs down because "neighbor or wife" neglects the evidence right before your EYES!!! (Blood-stained shirt, gloves, gun missing from its place on the wall - Duh!!) His neighbor was a closet gay who obviously had a problem BEING gay, and when he was rejected by Spacey - having "gotten the wrong idea" about him - was so mortified and resentful, that it pushed him over the line.

  • i know its mean and your all going to hate me over this probably, not that i hate gays i love them actually there so nice of people. but when he says "what is this, fucking gay pride parade?" i laughed :( i feel horrible.

  • Lol, it's okay. Sometimes you just gotta laugh. As long as you didn't mean harm, I don't see the problem, being gay myself. I laughed myself. Perhaps maybe it was just so sudden and random. ;P

  • It's no big deal, honestly. If there were no ill intentions you're not a bad person. I'm a lesbian and I always have a good laugh at whatever dyke jokes South park or other such shows can come up with. It's really just a matter of if someone can laugh at themselves or not. :P

  • obviously the neighbor he had gloves and blood on his shirt!!!

  • Sorry...sheesh I can't believe just asking a question would get a thumbs down...weird people...

there was still a possiblity it was the wife..The neighbor might have killed his wife to pursue him...

  • what the fuck iz wrong with gay people ??

    they're normal people too !!

if u diss gays ur the faggot !!

  • whats the song playing towards the end?

  • any other name

  • *an

  • XDDDD

  • Erm..."play cake"?! Hope that comment was tongue in cheek.

  • yes lol i meant to say it

  • This male actor (playing son) has some of the most powerful and beautiful eyes I've ever seen, makes me feel like watching this movie I've never seen (blush)

  • That's Wes Bentley.

  • thank you, he really is gorgeous... :)

  • You're welcome. :)

  • I guess he is obviously eye candy for the ladies, but he is also a great actor.....Wes does a phenomenal job as Ricky.

  • people remember...Spacey was AMAZING but give some credits to the writer....he made the story!

  • Hopefully he's nothing like this character in real life.

  • there is

  • who killed him and why

  • the guy next door killed him

  • Isn't obvious who killed him and why? Maybe you need to watch this video again or get a catscan.

  • I hate Chris Cooper in this film. Because he is so damn good at his role, of course. What an awesome movie with a tremendous cast.

  • I love Chris Cooper in this film, he is one of my favourite actors. The emotion in his eyes when he realises that Lester doesn't want him, is absolutely mind-blowing.I love how you can see the tears mixed in with the rain. It's a shame he couldn't come to terms with himself and his sexuality. Thank you for posting.

(I also love perving on Chris Cooper, when he is in that wet T-shirt, and the way it lies on his tummy.)Hubba hubba!!

  • I agree. Cooper usually gets typecast as a militaristic badass but he still brings so much diversity and flavor to each character he portrays.

  • Col. Frank Fitts is my favourite character in the film. He is an enigma.

Every scene he is in is just... captivating.

Chris Cooper portrayed him well. =)

  • He killed Lester because he was afraid Lester will tell everyone he kissed Lester. He didn't want his reputation ruined!

  • well, wait a min.

he killed him because he was a wreck. most gays are (no offense) he thought that lester was someone else, but when he figured he wasnt, he just have to "blow him up"

  • It's been observed, actually, the homosexuals have healthier relationships than most heterosexual couples, so don't just talk out your ass, douch bag.

  • @thefuckheadsgalore yeah you gay guys do if you remember use condoms

  • @ghostdog80 I'm a straight girl, but okay.

  • @thefuckheadsgalore Yea, but the same stats can work the other way too. For example, it's been observed that homosexual couples are considerably more likely to experience domestic violence. (FRC study, "Comparing the Lifestyles of Homosexual Couples to Married Couples")

  • @thefuckheadsgalore TRUE!!!

  • That's messed up! He didn't have to kill him. But then again maybe that was God's plan. Notice the red roses through out the movie. His last thought was his family. This movie deserved every award.

  • The type of rose species used throughout the movie is called, American Beauty. =)

  • The director is clever.

  • Take note all of you: Most homophobic men that I know, are fag-bashers BECAUSE they question their own sexuality (many are gay but try to act straight and have a girlfriend, or get married and hope the gayness will go away, but it never does --> gay guys are wired gay and you can't fix it) Anyways, Colonel Fitts freaked out to think he actually acted out sexually, kissing Lester, honoring his true homosexuality, so he lost it and had to kill Lester, his only witness to Fitts being gay. Rent it.

  • I know a few...poor them; I guess they don't have the support to come out so they don't especially if you're from a small town or crazy family...

  • lol

  • I cried when I saw this movie..Though I wasnt feeling Mr. "Cat Daddy next door"...I felt soooooo bad for him at the end..he finally opened up and look what happen!!! BANANAZ!!!

  • i hate the neighbor, i'm pretty sure kevin had other things on his mind besdies his neightbor kissing him, people should be so desparet to keep their sexuality a secret as to go to the lenghts of killing people who know.. that's so pitifull...and petty.

kevein spacy rox, American Beauty is a very inspirational and phenomenol[sp?] movie!

  • y the fuck do ppl hate gays so much thers nuthin rong with them theyre guy versions of girls thers nuthing wrong with that

  • Dude, don't hate people because they're different/you associate negative emotions with a certain aspect of them.

  • Im confused. Who shoots kevin spacey at the end. His wife or the neighbor

  • The homophobic neighbor with his own sexuality issues...

Its pretty obvious if you've seen the film... if you haven't seen the film... Rent it...

  • The Neighbor did it.

  • NO, you won't dislike Spacey if you see this movie..you will love him more. He's just a guy going through a mid life crisis...Kevin is amazing in this.

  • yea spacey is one of the realest old people out there.

  • I LOVE KEVIN SPACEY..... but...i haven't seen this movie yet and this is all freaking me out in a really weird way, am i going to dislike spacey if i see this movie??

  • no, you're going to like him even better

  • no this is what got me into Kevin Spacey, his performance is amazing

  • the scene in the rain when he's like "i'm not gay" and the guy walks away all heartbroken... that makes me cry, he's so desperate.

  • I think this scene is incredible, I´ve heard about the film a lot, specially that it was Academy Award Winner, but I never really knew the content of it till yesterday. This was a very strong scene, it made a similar efect in me as the one you described. How can a secret, well-hidden, guide a man´s behaviour through all his life?

  • chris cooper is great!

  • AMEN TO YOU.

    I love him.

  • Absolute masterpiece. B.t.w. the subplot of the selfhating gay is so true, still very present today in many gay men, even in the gayscene.

  • you gotta love this movie. it is so good.

  • amen !

  • best movie ever
