gas price hikes and drops arent just a local or national thing. The prices rise and fall at the same time everywhere in the world. It doesnt matter how rich or poor the area your in. If gas is going up in Africa and Europe and Asia, its gonna be going up in America too. Drilling in America would need to increase the global supply of oil at a significant level and not just America and even then wouldnt do much. China and India is burning up all the gas and thers nothing u can do.

You need to get some solar panels on your house, your wasting all that solar energy. Get an electric car too and charge it off the panels. You need to get a little more energy independent instead of buying Saudi Arabian gas for 4/5 bucks a gallon. Id give up drinking coffee before Id pay that much. Damn! I check the sales at our local CVS and Walreens, every week they have some type of coffee on sale with quite a discount. So the pharmacy/store has been alot cheaper for coffee the last few months then the supermarket!

Don't complain about your gas....in sunny California the gas prices start at $3.99 a gallon. Yes, your right....the cereal boxes are getting smaller and the price is getting higher! I prefer the Yuban Dark Roast coffee (in the can) and when I have money I get Starbucks at the market.

i use instant,Folgers usually. Im tired of having to buy cheap coffemakers from china that die within 6 months.Gas in Indiana is 3.59 today.If folks have to drive more than 20 miles oneway to work everyday ,this can really add up in a week.

Gas is still holding at around $3.85 to $3.99 here in southern CA. Up in Cambria, CA, where I have family, gas was $4.39 this past week.

Walmart has been dropping prices on produce though. Their non-organic Roma tomatoes were $2.48 lb, then dropped to $1.99 lb and today they were $1.78 lb when I checked. They had a lot of other produce price reductions as well.

All my organic prices are still the same. My weekly grocery bill has actually gotten cheaper over the past couple years.

Oil and food prices are going up because the FED is printing money. They are printing 130 billion dollars per month. Every time they print a dollar out of thin air, all the dollars in your pocket are worth less and less. Why are they doing this? Because the US government cannot afford it's $3.6 trillion dollar budget with only 2.1 trillion in tax money they collect. They have to make up the difference.

I brew my own coffe.

I buy a 2 kg can for $9.90, (don't buy branded staff) I have at least six cups a day, A can lasts me at least two weeks, that's 80-90 cups per can or 13-15 cents per cup, including filter. Starbucks charges you $2.00 for one cup.

I hate dehydrated coffee - it tastes yuk.

I alternate between a few brands of organic whole bean coffees. My absolute favorite coffees are in the San Luis Obispo area. New Frontiers market sells the best coffees I have ever had. I've never found a way of ordering it online though. I buy a few extra bags when I am up that way. I buy Raven's Brew locally, their Deadman's Reach is pretty good. Target actually has a decent Organic coffee as well.

I grind my beans and use a filter-less peculator. That makes the best coffee!

@ThePCZealot No Offense but a Perculator is the worst way to make coffee. Its not my opinion its fact. I saw it on the History Channels history of coffee. Boiling coffee and passing the water through the grounds continously isnt good. Try a A French Press. No filter and they are cheap. Around 15-20 bucks. Cheers

We drink little coffee here but I extend it HUGELY by using two parts chicory to one part cheapest-coffee-we-can-get. Equitable is not always available, & the local coffee roaster is lovely but we cut WAY back years ago. Chicory is nutritious! Two spoons of chicory, coarse, & one spoon of brand X coffee = 9 cups. I think the instant stuff uses a very unhealthy method. We use reusable, rinseable filters in France. The coffee grounds should be buried in the garden -- good for soil.
