I too as an owner of two radian pros am coming around to balsa planes. My buddy has a vista and the design and stiffness are better overall than foam gliders. Foam flies great IF you can keep it out of crashes. Had I know about the Vista (or spectra or spirit)earlier I would have bought one(have a vista on order now)instead of 'RE' trying an R Pro with different mods. The Rpros cost more and are flimsy out of the box. many mods to both of mine to get them to fly well. Vista is a better plane.
Cool video, I liked it. It would have been nice to see your setup but with the info you gave I can visualize it pretty well. A tip for fixing squished foam, heat with a hair dryer or a pot of 160-180 degree water (keep heating more until the foam relaxes to the original shape) and soak the pieces for a few minutes, and you're done, but I still like balsa more too.
youre not supposed to point the ant. at the plane because the tip of the antenna is a dead zone.

I just ordered the Vista.
At $60 it seems like a bargain.
How do you like the plane itself?
And nice vid too...
