  • The mountains have this grand quality that our American mountains seem to lack...those passes are spectacular. Can't believe all the tourists---I don't know there....

  • Bavaria is so beautiful like a paradise in the mountains

  • Great

  • Bam. I stood where Adolf Hitler stood. Hell Yes

  • This place is "Kehlsteinhaus". There is much info about it on YouTube and Wikipedia. It's still there to this day as a restaurant. "The building is often mistakenly referred to as a "tea house", a corruption of its abbreviated name, "D-Haus", short for "Diplomatic Reception Haus".-Wikipedia Gretyl Braun and Herman Fegelein's wedding reception was held there. Hitler was there possibly from 9 to 17 times. He didn't like the elevator, the height or lightning.

  • Good background info and beautiful pics.

  • @BetonyGreggan Thanks it's a wonderful place to visit in early spring, not to hot or cold ;-} The Music is from the Sound Track 'The Last of The Mohicans' also a Great Movie. Both can be be purchased via Amazon . com.

  • GREAT VIDEO !!

  • @wind197119971 A pleasure to read your post, thanks !

  • is one of the most beautifull PEACEFULL place that our GOD THE ONLY ONE, had made with LOVE AND PEACE for anyone that is bless to see it and HIS GLORY.. THE SAVIOR OF THE WORLD,JESUS CHRIST.

  • @ssPsPYESHUA Ditto ;-}

  • Thanks for your reply. Just for interest I am currently reading a book called "On Hitlers Mountain - Overcomming the Legacy of a Nazi Childhood" by Irmgard A Hunt. Irmgard was a young child during the war living with her family on the mountain above Berchtesgaden. She gives a fantastic and descriptive account of life prior during and after and how Berchtesgaden's infamous resident changed their lives. (She now resides in the U.S.) Gives a whole new insight into the history of this place. Cheers.

  • @garystewart100 Thanks mate I'll check it out. We get a lot of WWII History via TV channels like The History Channel, Discovery etc. Gary most of my Youtube videos are about the Cold War (during my time).

Cheers and have a great day.

  • Was there Sept 2009 and lucky to have perfect weather. Agree with all other comments. I find the history of this area facinating from way back with the germanic period and though the 3rd Reich period to now. I am a ww2 buff from Australia so I was in 7th heaven, quite a sureal experience. Good & bad in it's past - I love the place and hope to return.

  • @garystewart100 ... "Good & bad in it's past" Yes sir and it's too bad we we can't undo the bad. Thanks, thedeitz.com

  • I was there this past July. Unfortunately, it was foggy up top, but still amazing nonetheless. Funny, there seemed to be more Americans up there than Germans. The vibe that I got over there was that the Germans seemed ashamed of the third reich and they don't like to talk about it. The Alps in Bavaria are amazing though.

  • @Daniel39363

Yes it's amazing. BTW: Like 'ourvic' wrote and I agree "Can't undo the pasts right or wrongs" I have many German friends and I know they have no love for Hitler. A lot of Germans were also killed because of his actions.

  • @theDeitz They seem to want to forget about the past, but it is important to remember it so that something like this doesn't happen again.

  • this area is BEAUTIFULL my god ...

  • nice film

  • @joydivision808, Thanks !

  • Musica stupenda e panorami mozzafiato

Posto ideale per prendere decisioni importanti come fece Adolf Hitler

    falcoluminoso

  • Can you tell me what is this music?

  • @TheOongaboonga the Music is from the Sound Track 'The Last of The Mohicans' - - also a Great Movie - I have the DVD and the CD, both can be purchased via

Amazon . com. It's great music to listen to on a road trip.

  • @theDeitz Thanks bro.

  • watch?v=c-aZSW7nbKM here is a video i found on herrenchiemsee. it was pretty cheap too. i do have pics but this vid pretty much sums everything up.

  • i just returned from the the eagles nest. the view was good but the inside seemed dedicated to a restaurant. we went hiking a bit through that mountain trail in the back and headed off to salzburg. got there too late but i'm going again soon. Have you been to Chiemsee? that big lake with the islands and castles? that place was pretty cool. well thanks for your help.

  • @thompson8305 It's good to hear you made the trip. We found out to late if you want to see more of the house you need a ticket and reservation. I have not been to Chiemsee. This is new to me. But you have got my interest "big lake with the islands and castles". Let me know if you post photos of same. Thanks thedeitz . com

  • see, i am from Bamberg, Germany and all i really hear about down there is from other soldiers that go snowboarding around there. i'll have to look more into it before i hop on the road. I never even heard of Bad Herzfeld. Alot of posts are closing down around Germany. well thanks again and re assuring me i need to do more research before next weekend when i told everyone i was going to go.

  • thompson stationed Bad Hersfeld, 14th ACR border patrol unit 90 mile N-E of Frankfurt on the East-West German Border during the Cold War aka The 'Fulda Gap'. When you have time check out my others YT videos. Lots of Military/Armor History there. Let me know if you visit Point Alpha there, I have several German friends there and they would love to show you around. One in Frankfurt that would do the same for you. Google Point Alpha, 14th Armored Cav. thedeitz, Lots to do in Germany, great duty! :)

  • i thought Eagles Nest was in Austria, not Germany. its in Salzburg on the border.

  • @thompson8305 Eagle's Nest was built on the Kehlstein Mountain high above Obersalzberg. Obersalzberg is a mountainside retreat situated above the village of Berchtesgaden in Bavaria, Germany. ... Berchtesgaden is about 24 km from Salzburg. ... Maybe others can give additional information ...

  • @theDeitz well thank you for that information. i'm stationed in germany and was planning a trip. regardless...Mozart was from Salzburg, correct? i'd like to see everything while I can. thank you again.

  • Thompson, Mozart was born in Augsburg, spent time in Salzburg. During our 2005 visit to Eagle's Nest we stayed at the Gasthof Weisses Kreuz in Innsburk (built 1465) -Mozart stayed there- Google Gasthof Weisses Kreuz. In Salzburg we stayed at the Ibis Hotel next to the bahnhof. All are great places to visit. During my time in Bad Hersfeld, Germany as a GI 1966-68 (before & after) many GIs on R&R or leave visited there returning many years later with their family. My 14th ACR page thedeiz . com

  • @benenemy I understand, I live 1 mile from the beach and I avoid the beach during the summer ... too many tourists :)

  • How is the name, of this song please?

  • @Pedy1968 .... The Music is from the Sound Track 'The Last of The Mohicans' - - also a Great Movie - I have the DVD and the CD, both can be purchased on line.

  • I am German and have here my wedding-travel made, I have here wonderful

    days enjoyed!

Thank you so much, for this beautiful video!

  • Vielen Dank @Pedy1968 - Re: your wedding-travel Das ist schoen, Viel Glück

  • fuck everyone who says "FUCK THE YANKS". We make 49% of the visitors of this beautiful place. Which means we bring half of the revenue to this town! Yes USA brings in money and tourism to this town. If it was up to other countries you would have starved to death! So fuck everyone else! US is indeed the best country to live in,,, love it or hate it. This is where the money is baby!

  • @Neki79 what?! the money definetly is not in the U.S you are 2 trillion dollars in debt

  • @93rhysie

are you kidding me bro??? if US was in so much debt (2 trillion) don't you think we would be walking around starving and begging for food! Trust me, it's just numbers to manipulate people. Common man, it's all propaganda for rich to get richer. Let's look at the world cup for example. The most sold tickets for world cup is in USA. I close my case!

  • @93rhyit doesnt matter if people from the USA bought the most tickets, it's the goverment and the country that are in debt not the people. All most all countries are in debt except for a few like Japan, China. USA are in huge debt.

  • most romantic plave i have been.. and the music... im crying :(

  • The Fuhrer may have left the building, but all that he once surveyed is still there for all to see. If only the mountains could talk to us,what stories they would tell.

  • Great video, were you able to get any photo's of the inside or was it destroyed? I have to hand it to him, he picked a beautiful spot. As for the comment by Aglosaxon1921, not everyone hates us "Yanks", especially when they need a hand-out. We never wanted to ruin your quest for "world Domination" it just the instruction manual involved wiping us out and we didnt think too highly of that. After all we have families to protect. I lost good relatives in the Pacific, none in Europe.

  • B4UwereBorn1, reference 'the inside'. We only went in the dinning section. To see more you have to take the tour. If you Google 'Eagles Nest Tours' you will find a lot of information there. Good Luck from Wilmington, North Carolina.

  • Glad to see 'some' of you like my slide show. Vielen Dank, The Deitz born and living in the U.S.A. - U.S. Army in Deutschland 1966-1969.

  • nazi scum

  • nobody likes American's mate. Fuck off back to your colonial shit hole.

  • Can't undo the pasts right ot wrongs....was there in 2008 simply breathtaking.

  • Thanks ourvic, very well stated

  • Eagles Nest=Peaceful

    Great Video.

  • I had my 4th trip back to my mother county & did not get to the eagle's nest due to the snow in April. These are breathtaking picturs, thank you for sharing.

  • Sylvia441 Thanks, we lucked-up with the great weather June 2005. Glad some snow was still around, gotta, wantta go back :)

  • wars indeed.......but dont you think ???like the zum turken hotel....the rest of the buildings on the obersalzburg sould have been saved too....like the platterhof hotel and dare i say it the berghof.......also the tee house....all in my opinion would have been as popular to tourists as the eagles nest.....thank god they....americans/british/germans did not blow it up as they wanted to......or we would have all been enjoying the great view sitting on a pile of rubble..........

  • pity they destroyed everything else.....there were some good buildings bombed.....and for what??????

  • @sprintdevil Per my research: "In late April 1945 the house was damaged by British aerial bombs, set on fire by retreating SS troops in early May and looted after Allied troops reached the area. The burnt out shell was demolished by the West German government in 1952."

  • @theDeitz ..i am fully aware of the history.....and i have stayed in the zum turken hotel which i may ad was also a buned out wreck as with the other buildings......all which could have been restored as with the turken...........hitler is a good tourist puller and the berghoff would have been very popular today.....a big money spinner i reken.......

  • No doubt a place of great inspiration and harmony , only a elevated mind can create a place like this, highly surprised it was not destroyed by the "freedom and democracy",,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  • n4120p: same here, so glad it was not destroyed and at the same time I'm glad they were not using it as a firebase drawing fire upon this treasure.

  • great video.awesome pics.5/5

  • Roger that sniper and thanks it was one of my first, over ;)

  • np.thanx for sharing.

  • Well Done in Every Respect. A Much Desired Rendition of the Natural Beauty of Berchtesgaden, Germany.

  • Thanks and well stated by you "Natural Beauty" thanks

  • Klauss was there, awesome mountains, awesome lakes, Kehlsteinhaus ROCKS!!

  • Yes klausshimler, without a doubt, the most popular tourist site on the Obersalzberg now is the Kehlstein. Thanks,

  • Don't mention it, super place to stay there on the top of the mountains, nice place Kehlsteinhaus but the music you put as a soundtrack is very ok as well,

  • Nice video btw!

  • They demolished Berghof right?
