guys drumming is not a contest its a part of music. its not about what type of music is harder. in fact no type of music is harder than enother because to be the greatest drummer you need to play what the song needs
No joke, I have seen so many kids go and play wipeout on talent shows I'm not even impressed by it anymore. Play some Metallica, Slayer, Avenged Sevenfold, Lamb of God, Behemoth, even Buddy Rich...then I'll be impressed again
it's a simple song but I mean, the kids got lots of skill. i only started drumming when i was about 13, and now I can play some difficult stuff. this kid's really good, and he'll be great in the future
@SurFacingBoy93 i appreciate jazz i play some myself, MC is just an example of a genre that doesn't repeat the same surfer beat or grade three rockschool pieces
jazz or progressive would be another example of what i'm trying to say :)
But really. I don't think you understand what you're saying. Neil Peart is good and whatnot; but he really isn't all too good. You can call me whatever you want, it doesn't change the fact that in anyone that graduates college with a BA in Music can out play any of the Rush guys. And I dig Rush. I just happen to know what the grand scheme of musicianship and skill looks like.
If you're a drummer and you're giving this kid shit, it's only because now you've grown into a BETTER drummer then you were. It's natural, we get better. Remember what it was like though, when you first started playing? Give the kid a break.
ok he is really good for playing a year. he has good timming because he stayed on time, but he did nothing on the drums that was finaminaly impressive
Here's the thing.. the croud was easily impressed as a baby with a bunch of car keys. although he has only played only one year, he did ok, but the judges gave gim way too much credit for the very little that he did. This song is not challenging at all. I agree with most ppl here, he really should have don something that takes more skill. Well, im sure theres a very large group of kids his age who would blow him out of the water with ease.
@xXetfbmthXx Every genre has its hard areas, except rock, pop, and punk, those are pretty easy. For example jazz is limb independence, for metal its the speed and accuracy with many notes, for reggae well i cant tell you cause i dont listen to reggae, and so the list goes on. A metal drummer cant be a jazz drummer, and a jazz drummer cant be a metal drummer.
Seriously guys? All this talking trash about this kid and how hard metal is? Personally I love metal. BUt it's not the hardest genre, it would probably be jazz, even though metal is hard. This isn't that hard, but give him a break, shit.
like obv he's good for a 12 year old. for a professional musician, playing wipeout def would not fly. but honestly if he gets his head in the right place musically, i think it's undeniable that he's going to go places. his time is remarkable for a 12 year old.
these judges dont know shit about drums, playing wipe out is the easiest shit. metal drumming is one of the hardest to play, but if did play metal, the judges will hate it. Fuck the Judges and Fuck the song
ppl....hes only 11 yrs old...and he got the drums 3yrs ago...look at his age and experience lvl...and plus hes really polite for a rock drummer. dang you ppl for stupid comments
omg this kid sucks dick... im 14 and i can play metal drumming 1,000 times better than that peice of shit. i hope he dies and i hope everyone in the audience that stood up 4 him all fall in a meat grinder and get turned into dog food... fuck him and fuck god
the only reason they liked it was because the whole song was a drum roll and not all to much skill he should play the end by the beatles for the solo.
He actually felt the music, and understood how to play with that track. Drum solos are all well and good if you're a drummer or in your own practice rooms, but; shock horror, the vast vast majority of people don't want to hear drum solos.
He did an awesome job in a hugely nervewracking situation. He smiled, felt the track and has obviously worked hard to get where he is.
You don't need to be rude to someone just for the sake of it.
Why hate? Sure it's wasn't amazing but the kid has only been playing for a year and is really passionate about what he does and atleast has the balls to get up there and do it. If you guys are soo much better why don't I see any of you atleast trying out or in any big bands? seriously it's all about respect, appreciate one persons love and passion for music and they'll respect and appreciate yours, without that mentallity you're not a true musician.
i dont get why the crowd cheers. the song is amazingly easy and hes not doing anything hard. i can do the tom part in the beginning with mostly one hand
@Anke333 hes doing basic stickings and accents. for 12 its decently impressive, what would really be a show would to see some paraddidles and flam accents. and wipeout is way to easy. he, in my own opinion, is getting a wee bit too much admiration.
honestly im not saying the kids bad, but from a drummer, there was really nothing impressive with that at all. i mean if you put in a good amount of time within a good 3 months you could prolly pull that off no problem.
With me in fact being 12 myself, I think that it would be a good thing to do if you were starting. I have only had my drums for 6 months and I can play this. I think it was a bad choice to do a song. I am sure he is probably good but he didn't show it through this song
people who are ignorant to music which a lot of peopleare will instantly cum in their pants once they hear someone play a beat. its something that annoys us drummers
That song's way to easy. I mean, as a drummer I couldn't say that "he's a very good drummer" like the judges and the narrators did. He's good for his age, but that song is really simple.
@fireballmania123 It depends on how old you are. Not everyone can do it. The point is it was well played no matter how what skill level it is. And don't forget it is the audition. The act usually gets better for the next rounds. =) Am I right?
hey to tell you kid. not everyone can play that. youd be suprised. wipe out is one of the most difficult songs a drummer can learn. its so complicated so many change ups. he just played a small portion.
