i went to a car show yesterday about an hour away in my '65 mustang, and cruised all the way back with a guy that has an original '66 Hertz. Beautiful car, with the Cobra supercharged 289 :D
There was a real funny story in Hot Rod a few years ago..
Circa 67 or 68..
Two college kids rented a Hertz 66 with the 289 271 hp engine, and took out that motor, replaced it with a falcon 289, and then took the car back.. Crazy you coud rent one, race it all weekend and then return it on monday.. That would be like renting a zo6 now..

I have a 66 fastback..painted it with rustoleum paint and minerial spirts...mixed it one to one..applied with a high density 6 in roller, wet sand every 2 coats with 2000 grit sand paper..... total of 6 coats...then buff with a rubbing compound and polish...total cost....70.00 bucks. I ll put my paint job up against any spray job...
the 2005 mustang gt coupe was designed with this cars fine lines in mind. Great looking machine.
