I keep restarting the game over every year or so and try to do the missions but i get distracted and do something else. I'm on mission 6 again and hope i go all the way. lol

It was Stephen Fry who voiced the Book in Hitch hikers guide, and William Franklyn as VAL. But I have to admit, they sound very similar.

@Gonzo Image projectors, and other such items (Lava lamps, etc) are misc items that increase the happiness of all races. Funny enough you can hang image projectors from the edges of the recreational bar! And that has no walls!

Unlike monuments which are race-only, the small items affect all races.

@SilverHeretic Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy had several iterations, they all had different stories actually and all were worth checking out. Well except for the TV series, I never saw that one. The radio series was good. Naturally having a lot of this kind of narration.

Loyalty determines how willing to fight they are, and how long they will stay on your station in sub-par conditions.

E.g. You start a battle, high loyalty peeps will go running stright to the battle, lower loyalty will loiter around before going.

They will also hang around the station longer if they have higher loyalty if it is dirty, or they haven't been promoted.

Dedication just determines how much "free time" they have in which they go and spend energy.

You need to think for example, you'll want high skill, high dedication, low loyalty Kasavagorians. This'll mean they'll do their job and maintain your security turrets, rather than run to the frontline!

Try to do the same for your greys because losing them in a firefight never helps.

Cool game thats definedly underrated. I unfortunately didn't completely get it when it came since I was quite young and not a native english speaker. If someone could post the soundtrack or give me a link to it I would be extremely grateful.

The loyalty level is also how dedicated to your station they are, i. e. if you forget to give them a raise, how long they will stay on the station before they quit. The dedication level is how long they will work at their job before they stop for a break, e. g. rest and relaxation.
