  • This song is about as political as my left nut. shaggyshow and thedrunkenhero, why dont you go find a room and fuck yourselves? stop ruining a good discussion about an awesome band

  • Buck Dharma you genius, you're at it again!

  • I just ordered this on amazon love the cover

  • This is got to be one of the best guitar solos in music history.

  • Favorite one from the album.. strange feeling.. memories from the past..

  • skynyrd kicked these guys asse, on and off the stage lol.

  • @bisp25 You're out of your mind.

  • @MrPerfecttommy truth hurts

  • @bisp25 Skynyrd is a great band too, but don't talk shit about the Cult.

  • @c0rnp0p5 it's true google it

  • another melodic , beautiful guitar solo by Buck dharma

  • Don't turn your back.... To the dogs that hound you.

  • Don't turn your back... On the dogs that hound you.

  • this album was released in 1981 the police album im talkin about was like 1979 ,zennatta mendatta -and you hear alot of that influence in some of Rush's albums from that era like-Grace under pressure

  • I can hear alittle police influence here,b.o.c. is the greatest

  • @toastmal They were around wayyyy before the police

  • Love this song...they really got better and better and I wish they had kept working with Martin Birch.

  • I would give everything I own to be back just for one day to the first time I heard this song!

  • For my friends, my family, anyone that has ever heard this song too. I love ya'll.

  • Hay those oysters were green not blue what are you trying to pull

  • You'll never know when it's your time to go. Don't blow your amps. Straighten-up now people. Quit living a Rap video over and over. Get real; study music like this.

  • this song gives me a strange vibe with images, smells and tastes of weird things like magic shops, sugary powder candy, the smell of leather, rain and other things..and of course the 80's and blue oyster cult

  • @longfootbuddy Me too!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG SO DAMN MUCH THAT I CAN LISTEN TO IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN AND NEVER NEVER GET TIRED OF IT. LOVE IT!!!

  • MY FAVORITE FAVORIT FAVORITE!!!!!!!

  • @dollyfarinelli your favorite song but you turned your back on me!

  • Dig the artwork, anyone know who by????

  • Great 1

  • This is one of the greatest rock tunes ever - really means something unlike most rot - Don't be a trend follower - be original as these guys were and you can truly say you have lived

That little snippet of advice - things are not always what they seem.... is what all teenage lads need to hear from someone

by the way who was the creative driving force and what is he up to these days?

  • This song gave me a weird dream about 20 years ago. Funny how I never forgot.

  • the album art is so hypnotic. I could look at it all day.

  • Sound disturbingly like Crystal Teardrops from Castlevania SOTN to anyone else? Without the lyrics, I mean? I suppose that Crystal Teardrops sounds like this though, since it came out long after this song did.

  • Agreed--this is one of the greatest solos. Very melodic and emotionally phrased. Great tone, as well.

  • One of my favorite solos by Buck hands down!!!

  • She will return the favor.

  • like the bass!

  • Buck Dharma is due credit where credit is due. What a great guitar and songwriter. Someday he will get the recognition he deserves. Maybe the Rock hall of fame should open their minds. Besides everyhting I know about life I learned from BOC. So I won't turn my back...

  • love this song,if you want to see them in a movie, watch,or rent (the stoned age)thay play a small part,

  • I love Lifeson, Satch, Blackmore, Morse, Lesperance...you name it but this is the most beautifully balanced, melodic lyrical guitar solo I've ever heard...nice one Buck!

  • Buck is one of my all time fave players...he's a great talent, an inspiration to me personally.

  • I remember Buck saying this was his fav solo. Love the track and the album.

  • Solo is classic Dharma. He was a very melodic player w great phrasing & knew when to play & when NOT to play, something a LOT of modern players have no friggin idea about.

  • Very true. I have nothing against Yngwie (for example), but constant shred or mindless cacophony doesn't have the same evocative appeal.

  • Comment removed

  • NEVER turn your back.

  • D2 M&J

  • 4 M&J

  • Great solo by Buck!!!

  • cover freaks me out

  • To each his own. Personally this is prolly my favorite track from that album. I's got a real nice open kep jazz feel & the the rhythm drags nicely just behind the beat..

  • Just one great track from a great album.

  • Stealth metal.

  • yeah , i like that.

    STEALTH METAL

  • Favorite of all time.

  • Buck Dharma--shoulda been on the "Heavy Metal" soundtrack 1980...anyhow...was one of those songs that makes BOC better then the rest

  • freaky cool

  • A perfect dose of Öyster jazz...soooooo smooth.

  • sorry i hit thumbs down by accident.

  • Don't turn your back... liberals surround you

  • Thats right, and we have the pictures of you trying on your mothers pantyhose.

  • i lolld

  • @theshaggyshow yes, dont let the name fool you into thinking they care about your liberty...theyll just liberally relieve you of your money...but face it, both dems and reps will screw you..neither care about your rights or freedom to live in peace

  • @longfootbuddy conservatives are the lesser of two evils...

  • @theshaggyshow yes...but not by much...dont settle for theyr two party game...its another trick...an obvious illusion of choice really, so they can sing theyr songs of democracy...which is a foolish song by the way...american law should protect the individual rights and liberty of each man and woman...no amount of democratic means should be able to take that away

  • @theshaggyshow Yeah. Like me. BOOO!

  • @theshaggyshow Liberals are the good guys so you're good...

Cold blooded (R)eptiles are the greedy selfish CONS you have to watch out for.

  • @theshaggyshow YEAH

  • @theshaggyshow c'mon, more like ...... Don't Turn Your Back........Fauxnews Surrounds You

  • @theshaggyshow Don't spew BOC with your garbage...

  • @theshaggyshow Keep the politics out of it. The rest of us are trying to enjoy some good music.

  • Love the change at about 1:55. Fantastic.

  • Nice NICE NICE!!! WTF, after BOC everything seems different...

  • Great album, must of bought at least 15 of these albums over the years cause they get lost or Stolen but who can blame them for stealing THIS album, rock on in flames............

  • Lol sounds like me and the secret treaties album, bet i bought at least 5 albums and that many cassetes. they just kept vanishing hmmmmmmmmm.

  • i love this cd,,,,i use to listen to this prior to enlisting in the military/ there is so much truth to the music in looking back now..............BOC rocks...........and thank you to all that have served our country/ the veterans............we all have pychic wars but only those who are in real war can relate to the psychic wars

  • dont turn your back, or ill put a knife in it.

  • This is my favorite BOC album. Spectres is close...

  • H aha! I like Spectures the most. The first time I saw BOC was when they just released Spectures and they toured with UFO.

But I love pieces of other albums.

  • "you´ll use that special option in your car"..they always had a knack of writing those sinister lyrics(especially their lyricists;-))--i love the way this album and "cultosaurus.." sound--very dry and powerful, thanx, martin birch!!

  • Yeah, that is a good line. My guess is that it alludes to the first story in the "Heavy Metal" movie that some of the songs on this album were written for. The character in it was a cab driver who had a device that could disintigrate anyone in the back seat.

  • The "that special option in your car..." line makes me think of the ejection seat in "Goldfinger" . Flip, press, bubye!

Great tune and album. thanks for uploading it.

  • Now that's a trippy tune.

  • Just Ordered this album w00t!

  • I first heard this song by BOC in the eighties when I first went into the military. The tune has always loomed around in my head. It's definitely one the cooler songs on the album because is has a combination of rock, pop, jazz, and it continously sounds spooky. All that combined makes it a song that's hard to get out of your head. The lyrics are spooky and enticing as well.

  • Perhaps BOC's most underrated song. You can hear Allen Laniers influence in the smooth melody and sweet composition. Joe's bass is wonderfully understated yet fitting and Bucks overlapping solo dances with jazzy grace. BOC 4 ever!

    Peace:-)

  • Yes, everyone, go buy this; particularly if you like Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, White Snake, because this album was produced by the same guy who worked with those bands. And a great culmination product of the early metal 70's as things ramped up with Heavy Metal.

  • This has always been one of my favorite songs from The Oyster Boys. Everyone should go out and buy this album!

  • I agree 100%. THIS album is definetly in their top 3.

I used to really like this song myself...I'd play it over and over..so mesmerizing...the guitar solo at 1:55 used to give me chills..then the perfect harmony following can't be beat.

  • @JoeHoskinson I have this album on vynal!

  • This has always been one of favorite songs from The Oyster Boys. Everyone should go out and buy this album!

  • awesome song good job

  • Yay! =D
