I happen to be a title examiner by profession. If property is sold, the deed is registered at the Registry of Deeds. If the church is in Jefferson Parish, that would be the "Office of mortgages and conveyances" located in Gretna. I've been there several times, even though I'm from New England!

If it's in Orleans Parish, that would be in New Orleans. Wherever, their word is not valid in a court of law. They must provide proof, or the property would revert back to the prior owner of record.

I'm African American, and catholic...... my home parish in Oakland, California , St. Columba has Gospel Mass and i feel better every time i go worship in my church. Many of African American catholics came from New Orleans during the 50's . May our Creator and Lord bless the people of this parish and historic New Orleans.

At least one of their churches here in Okc, supports illegal lawbreakers by stealing programs and such from poor citizens and gives to illegals that disrespect our laws and takes blood money from illegals that give them money they make off selling illegal drugs. In May 2008 St. Augustine Church received a $75,000 grant from the National Trust for Historic Preservation and American Express to aid in needed renovations to the historic parish hall, a center of community services.

In March 2009, St. Augustine Church announced that due to its progress, the archdiocese had decided it would not be closed and had taken the church off probation.
