Kansas had an evangelical Christian influence--I was not a Christian then, but was told so . Loved this song, and Carry ON, My Wayward Son--which is Jesus' story of the Prodigal Son. Now I really feel even deeper chills up my spine whenever I listen to this--the beauty of the production and the performer's voice, as well as the message. A great song. But here in Canada, Kansas was never as big a band as the introduction says. I guess more in the USA.

Occult? Evangelica? I was told the song was Buddhist. It has so many urban legends about its origin/inspiration as to not really have one at all. So this really is confusing. Regardless where it's from, it's a well-written song.

One of the most emotionally wrenching AMVs ever made is Vlad Pohnerts Circle of Life which is a tribute to anime characters who were killed. What made it especially powerful was this song and Brightman had the music track removed. I wonder if artists ever take into account how many people have been introduce to their song by the videos that they remove.
