I know how guys feel on the single mom thing. I'm a single mom of 3... Two are twins, but all the same. Most guys good and settled don't want that in there life... And their familys don't as well. My kids have the same dad, but there are girls that don't, that's even harder in my opinion. I'd liked to date someday, but I want somebody that should have that time. People assume that all single mothers, were never married. There is something called divorce. Their partner could have died. They could also be co-partnering raising their children. A child is made by 2 people. Men and sometimes assume that a woman will intentionally go out, find a partner, and have a baby for the sake of having a baby. Not the case all the time. Many single women have good jobs and can financially support their own children.
I agree. I want what my parents and grandparents had. Like you said I spent most of my teens and 20s with blinders on: no drugs, no sex, no hanging out, high school, college, law school. The pure fact that you have a child whether out of wedlock or not is negative. Speaking in accounting terms your child is a liability. Women need to evaluate what they bring to the table. Thanks for the reply. I watched it. Nothing about it was controversal at all. I do disagree with one thing you said... i used to agree with you... but I've since lived and learned different (I'm now 50 with 2 20 somethin boys)... and that's this... women absolutely DO need to come right out, upfront with their kids and about their kids. Don't hide them. Why? Because that woman is now a package. She's not alone. Falling in love with mom but not her kids hurts everybody. Upfront is best.

@kevc21 I agree that women should not hide the fact that they have kids. She should let a man know up front, however, I don't think she should allow the man to meet the kids face to face until after she knows that he is a good guy and she is going to be in a serious long term relationship with him.
If a woman introduces her kids to every man she dates and she is dating multiple men, the kids have to deal with a revolving door of men in their life and this is not good for them emotionally.

I know how guys feel on the single mom thing. I'm a single mom of 3... Two are twins, but all the same. Most guys good and settled don't want that in there life... And their familys don't as well. My kids have the same dad, but there are girls that don't, that's even harder in my opinion. I'd liked to date someday, but I want somebody that should have that time. Any smart single mom would wait till their good, able, and on their feet to date. So, a good man can see that she can handle her own.

People assume that all single mothers, were never married. There is something called divorce. Their partner could have died. They could also be co-partnering raising their children. A child is made by 2 people. Men and sometimes assume that a woman will intentionally go out, find a partner, and have a baby for the sake of having a baby. Not the case all the time. Many single women have good jobs and can financially support their own children.

Why should I not want someone who shares the same experiences? As a young professional black male I will speak up for those brothers who hang in my circle. We have no interest in dating single moms. The number of children you have is irrelevant. The pure fact that you have a child whether out of wedlock or not is negative. Speaking in accounting terms your child is a liability. Women need to evaluate what they bring to the table. Having children is not a positive bargaining chip in establishing a relationship. If you're not single and childless: Too bad!

As a single mother, I think you should keep the video up. I understand where someone like you and others who have those same sentiments come from. I think much of what you mentioned is not accurate as it relates to me, but the truth of the matter is that many men do THINK those things, there is a stigma with dating single mothers, and I appreciate you for making that observation. I think it's healthy to open the discussion...
