The GP40 at the front of the line of rolling stock is still used, its one of the engines used to pull the NH&I's freight trains, and it subs on the excursion runs when #40's in the shop. I believe this area is called the "dead line" where the railroad places equipment until they have the time/come up with the money to restore them.
They use that diesel another one and the steam. They buy train cars and engines fix them then sell them I ve seen many dash 9s and other engines get fixed and sold.

I think the best thing you could do is bust out the windows of the coach cars, throw in a Molotov cocktail and burn these things to the ground for junk iron.
Not sure what the noise is at 3:37 through 4:13 and again at about 5:00, but it sounds like your Geiger counter alerting. Better get out of there! They are radio active!
According to the research I've done on this, that's the "New Hope and Ivyland" railway (you can barely see this on the loco.)
This train isn't abandoned, but rather it's in storage on railroad property (making the guy with the camera tresspassing.) Most of the other stuff that looks out of comission is stored either for parts for their working steamer, or to later be restored to use.
If I was tresspassing, it was by accident. I walked right by a bunch of people working there and just smiled. I saw no signs or gates or anything warning to keep off. Mind you I took video of the inside of a railroad in another video so you got me there! You're right about the trains not being "abandoned". Some of them seem to be abandoned in the sense that they've just been sitting there rotting away. Cheers!
Most of the museum railways like that really don't mind if people wander around their stored stock taking photos and stuff. Long as you don't climb on it or damage them, shouldn't be a problem.
@applesauceman And it's people like you who end up in jail for doing stupid stuff, among them vandalism and theft. As stated over two years ago, these are not abandoned, they're in storage and used seasonally. Now, given the tone of things, trespassing on railroad property can get you in trouble with homeland security. So unless you fancy a full body cavity search and being branded a terrorist...I'd suggest not doing it. That is, unless you're into that kind of thing.
@darkyoda you're just an old, mindless, self-important dumbass. i am not someone who climbs on trains, but i am not a jerkoff "follow all the rules" idiot like you either.
@applesauceman In your 12 year old mind, I suppose 30 is old. However, I'm not a "follow all the rules" idiot. I'm a former police officer, so trust me when I say I know what I'm talking about.
@darkyoda former police officer sounds right. self-important, self-righteous, and an idiot to boot. its no wonder you were cop, 99% are dumb as shit. need to buy some artificial power and authority because you were too damn stupid to gain any on your own. ahahahaha. jerkoff.
@darkyoda Ohhhh, I thought you meant that he was trespassing on the road. Yes, technically he is trespassing by stepping on the ROW, but as long as he is not doing anything malicious the folks at the NH&I won't bother him. They're a very railfan-friendly line, and they'll let you browse the dead line and yards as long as
a) You repect their equipment and treat it as you would your own property
b) Act in a safe and reponsible manner, as not to endanger the lives of either you or others
thats sad because they once ruled the rails and now they just sit there and rust not fun watching i wish steam was still there it was more power full and if u kinda think about it it taking more then one desiel to pull 100 cars then a steam engine did
i live near that trains im 13 now and me and my friends tried to start some of em!one started it isnt showed on video we got 500$ for starting it and telling that it started!that old loco with cool wheels is there for 50 years my granny used to play on it she told me that this train was the main loco in town!
the "loco with the cool wheels" haven't been there for 50years it's only been there since 1999 (+ or - 2 years) the locomotive your granny is thinking of is ex CN #1533 witch is sitting behind the shops. that locomotive is ex N de M 3028 4-8-4 nirigra type (1 of 4 left and only one on the east cost of America) so Livardo you seen a very rare steam locomotive there
also to get this straight (because it kind of was bugging me) the only locomotives that are after the nirigra are out of commission
*also to get this straight (because it kind of was bugging me) the only locomotives that are out of commission are after the nirigra*
something got screw up in the typing there
also the 2 passenger cars in front of the nirigra at the time of the video they where out of commission. the reading company one came out from the shops on Sunday after getting a fresh cote of paint. and 2198 (the GP30 in the binging is ran on a weekly bases
The first diesel and car are serviceable; the first steam engine you showed is supposed to be worked on to be restored. And the other steam locomotive is for sale.
Thank You So Much For Letting Us View That Video! I Like At The Part Of 4:22 When It Shows That Old Engine(I Think It Is) Please Continue Your Great Work!
Yes, I am an engineer on the 2198 on occasion, and it does run, along with several of those passenger cars. Dan, I'm sure if you offered the railroad your savings, they would repair those cars with it.
@livardo You should stay away from that area. Its not safe. Your far away from the town and your the only person there. You could've got mugged. Please becareful. If you wish to go there again bring a group of friends with you.

They already started restoration on most of the cars I don't think you can tell BUT the steam engines might just be spare parts, or soon restored

@darkyoda He's not trespassing, to the best of my knowledge this is a public road that leads to a quarry to the north of where he is standing.
cool45010 3 months ago
The moment you set foot onto the tracks, you're trespassing. The rails are railroad property, as are the rolling stock.
