  • That is incredible ... I would save up decades for that!

  • Cool. I wish I was that lucky

  • He should really not publicize the comics he has because for people who are seeing this, the comics are going to go bye bye.

  • It's been trimmed. Deal with it loser.

  • This comic is so cool I have a reprint.

  • why do they give all the credit to this dick who pretty just ripped someone off (probably and old person who didn't know any better)

and this skeezer gave em a FRACTION of the worth for it instead of it's real value what a fucking cheesy ass dick muncher same reason I hate pawn stars and all those other shows cuz it's pretty much people just getting ripped off by faggot ass store owners like this one

  • Dude why are you handling it with your bare hands?! Get that thing graded and authenticated!!!!!!

  • Let tan Lee sign it

  • fucking faggots

  • lucky guy!

  • Wow

  • i mean he probully paid the guy acouple hundred for it maybe. the guy who owned it must have not known what its worth. so that makes him a dick, but haay hes the guy with the first apperance of batman, and im the guy who lost his virginity to a sock,......................

  • The reprints from the 70's is huge. I like the Millennium Edition better.

  • i'm drooling right now

  • I know TODD....Great Great Great humble guy....I chatted with him recently he said he is gonna hold on to it for a while!

  • i would love to have that comic

  • at 1:10 it looks like the pages are white and not tan at all, and looking at it now it look fake

  • gay im rfom ellwood and been there once. gayyyy

  • today the value of that comic is

    CGC NM value: $1,790,000

    Issue dated: May 1939

i have 2 of them found 1 in my grandparents house and one found in a old trunk i bought

  • @MrDeathkiller98 And I'm a nigger with multicoloured lips called sunshine beam.

  • i wonder how much he paid the person that brought it to him asking if it was worth anything?

  • Sell it? NOES! I know he can get a shitload of money but... I mean... I think it would be more worth it to just own it... Not for me personally though... I'm a Marvel fanboy =P

  • good for you

  • just because some one collects comics doesent mean they are a virgin fucking dumb ass you can have a girl and still love comics! geez anyone can love comics so shut the fuck up

  • I know TODD very well and he is a GREAT GUY..very humble...VERY down to earth....He went to school with my sister.....and his prices are amazing

  • That issue looked to be in at least a 5.0 maybe a 5.5. Worth a good 350,000. What grade do you guys think it is???

  • that book is my #1 dream comic. I have only been collecting comics for a year but I already have fine titles, to even think about owning Detective 27 is heart racing

  • I know

  • why do i feel like this guy ripped off the original guy who had it

  • @TheRealYoungArtist no he didnt. i know todd VERY well and he is very honest and paid an ARM ANDA LEG!

  • @harveydents sure harvey batman guy, you dont know this guy....and if he did why doesnt he say how much he paid in any video??

  • ive gotta say i go to comic conventions alot, out of the 300+ people there, there is about 5 really hot girls, the rest are ugly as shit.

  • and you're a fat douchebag turd that even ugly girls wouldn't go near. suck a dick lil bitch.

  • I think the first appearance of batman is worth a lot more then what he is saying seeing as it sold for over 1 million on an auction site. I wish I could get my hands on Action Comics 1 or Detective comics 27. I do have the first appearance of supergirl...but its not worth that much right now :p ... and for those making fun of people who read comics.. atleast they have a hobby. I'm a female and I like comics. I don't see anything wrong with it.

  • @codiecoco25 arent they cool the nice front covers, the perfect size, clever sharp diologue, and overall the release of your own imagination. I have a few in a box I made myself out of cardboard nothing fancy maybe one hundred, but every time I read one now and again I think to that 12 yr old boy interested in something that no one else cared about. peace thanx for understanding me.

  • i went to a comic convetion 2 days ago wolverines first apperance where he fights hulk i git charged 600 buck for it

  • Actually, Action Comics #1 sold for 1,000,000 dollars last monday, but two days later, Detective Comics #27 was sold for 1,075,500 dollars! Batman ROCKS!!!

  • I would try to fool the guy that came in and said if it`s worth it. I would say yeah i guess I`ll take that give him something between 50 - and 100 dollars.

  • Whatever he paid.. he was ripped off! It has been cut.

  • Just read the fucking thing you faggots.

  • You guys crack me up...your all just jealous so since he's into comics, he must be a virgin...who cares if he is or not???? Anyone can get laid with $200 in their hand. I'd take a detective #27 over ANY chick...You people would last 3 seconds with Miss March but when it's over then what???

  • $200? More like $20

  • lol; good point.....

    ..i think it's $80 bucks now...for 30 minutes..

  • @Shuley76 I agree, no chick is worth more than this comic. The holy grail for any batman fan.

  • @Shuley76 u say to all ur freends dude i fuckt miss march

  • dude do you have any idea how hot comic book girls are literly google comic book girls or obama girl this dude gets pussy hes rich

  • wow this batman almost look like the one that I know from the 90's animated series. Who made that gay blue suit with the cute eyebrow? lol

  • It's nice to see someone in Ellwood doing something other than getting waisted every day.

That's more rare than the comic.

  • I work with his dad haha

  • I know Tom Mcdevitt. he pre ordered a graphic novel for me

  • Lucky!

  • if someone gets this guy laid... he will give you the comic..

  • This book was CGC'd as an extensively restored 8.5 and sold on comiclink for around 60k. He may have lost a ton of money on this one if he didn't know about the resto.

  • it's not worth half a million dollars for a mint copy

  • yah it is dude, go look on comic book price guides.

  • lucky bastard XD

  • awesome comic book! and it's funny there's an actual elwood city, elwood city is where the arthur cartoon takes place.

  • that comic is relly rare i have a reprint of it and i also have batman black and white

  • I actually have action comics #1 and detective comics #27, their both reprints, but i love having them in my collection

  • Ha ha. Thats where I go to buy my comics. Imma try and work there soon.

  • lillucchesi21 and mley21 are right this dude if a fuckin loser, he looks like he never got laid, EVER!

  • ok, he could sell that comic, make 250000, and then get laid

  • soz no i do not

  • It is the first comic from D.C to feature batman and is one of the most important parts of the Golden age comicbooks

  • because is the orignal from 1939

  • I'm a bit confused I can see that he has like 4 copies of detective comics #27 why is this one worth so much when he showed the original has the issue been reprinted these days or something.

  • The other copies ae all reprints ;)

  • You know that ahole ripped that old widow off.

  • i see TOYFARE!

  • How much did he pat for it though?

  • any comic in any codition is going to come under some hevy fire when it's worth that much....it's not about money to me though....that means i get the comic right? because i don't care how much it's worth?

    right?

  • Looks like a trim job to me, better have it checked.

  • gotta wonder if he really paid them a fair price or not. Also gotta wonder if its just the cover and there's missing pages, or a big 'fuck you, comic gaylord' in crayon on the inside of it. That would be hilarious.

I agree that this obsession is generational and very well may not translate to young people although museums will be interested.

  • LOL! That's some funny stuff right there.

  • No he's a trolling asshole just about like you.

  • god forbid someone has an uncommon hobby

  • I want it!!!!! (HUGE Batman fan!)

  • This guy is wrong, Action Comics #1 and Detective comics #27 are not the most rare comics in existence.

Alan Moore's The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen #5 and DC comic's Elseworlds 80-Page Giant are the two rarest comics in the world.

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen being the rarest.

  • still dude anything made in 1939 is a rare find in 2008 lol

  • Rarity does not neccessarily indicate quantity. You could print up a single issue of a comic that would be vastly unimportant the the rest of the universe.

  • this is true

  • lillucchesi21 why would you think that comment was neccesary and if you hate comic books so much why view this video, so you can put that comic? i bet your a 10 year old really bored and so write stupid comments on youtube

  • the way hes talking im sure he is is, i would knowwim i justturned 11

  • It's rare and worth alot of money, you homophobic retard.

  • lmao that was my brother on my acount..so relax bro. I live in ellwood and i actually do like this kind of shit

  • what happen to this case? was it real or not?

  • Silly of that envious other comics guy who claims the #27 was "trimmed,' when in reality when comics are made they're ALL trimmed when they come off the press! Some more than others, of course, but none of them are really identical. Same goes for staple placement, etc. The other guy's just jealous that he didn't buy the book first.

  • someone bought it into my store and ask if it was valuable, and the stores owners reply was: yes it sure is " lol who are you tryng to fool?

comic dealers are the biggest crooks this side of wall street... you guys gave the guy probably 5.00 bucks, when you knew this comic is worth what at least 75 k in that condition. lol. and how much of that does the stupid person who does not know who bought it intio your store? ( yeah funny isn't it )

  • This book is for sale on comic link right now. It has been CGC'd as an extensively restored book indicating the "naive" owner who asked if it was valuable new exactly what he had. Jokes on the dealer!! Sellers can be crooks too (ebay).

  • @kansas66204 that type of of practice is considered fraud under law . i was a comic book dealer for many many years and had a few stores . When a person asks you what something is worth , you can't lie and buy for very low or you are committing fraud . you can say , example : in the condition it is worth $x x.00 , and then make a low offer and that is not fraud .

  • wonder if enybody has boght that book now

  • Cool! I was in the Comic Store earlier this week and I saw Amazing Fantasy #15 for $20000. I was shocked when I saw it. :)

  • superman and batman i have action 1 -658 anDetective Comics 27 - 68

  • Action Comics 1

    Detective Comics 27

I'd be happy with either! What a great find!

  • BECAUSE ITS THE FIRST SUPERHERO COMIC

  • ACTION COMICS IS MORE VALUABLE

  • @ZEROEVILDARKCOOL Yeah but I think Batman is way cooler than Superman. Batman doesn't have superpowers, he actually uses his smarts and gadgets.

  • Even more rare than the Detective Comics #27 find is video of Todd actually being in one of his stores for more than a minute! And if this was filmed on a Wednesday, even rarer still!

  • all detective 27's look like they hae been trimmed

  • Lucky lucky man.
