I find it hard to believe that the Democratic Presidential Nominee didn't even consider running with one of the most powerful figures in Dem Party, and the nation. I used to live in the UK & I can tell you that the one person who has had the greatest FREE RIDE- is George W. Bush. When Tony Blair had to face Parliament and account for himself and for his actions- it was no holds barred. OUR town hall meetings with Bush were a breeze, a cake walk, and a complete farce. I don't think the media has taken it EASY on Obama as a whole. The fact is- he's far more competent than Sarah Palin so they couldn't make him look like this big of an ass if they tried.

Well said. I've read scripts of every speech and interview and she seems unable to voice a coherent or relevant sentence. She is attractive, however, and is a terrific teleprompter reader. I don't think she reads anything else.

Maybe she's not a LIFETIME career politician, but she's a career politician all right, make no mistake about that - don't her answers make that clear? And there's nothing wrong with a career politician representing the US — on the POLITICAL world stage. I'd be worried if she wasn't. But what bothers people is that no matter how slick and media-friendly she is, and however much of a fast-learner (in a Machiavellian way, among others), she's still not ready for the job, if she ever will be.
