Each year I go to Festival for my birthday and I always make a point to see The Rogues and buy one of their CD's for my father's birthday. It's really the only love that he and I share. I am very disappointed that they won't be making an appearance this year... :(. Ah well, I will just have to make an adventure out of it and see where else they're playing!
I always enjoy watching this group at the MD Ren. Fes. when I get the chance to go. They're great live performers; getting the audience into the swing of their music. Awesome editing on the video. I at first didn't realize you used some shots from the White Hart Tavern stage as well as the stage up by the joust for the majority of the video. Nice work.
I had the pleasure of watching you with my Hubby at the opening weekend of CTRF, Easter weekend April 23, 2011...I heard you play this song and felt it deep down in my soul. I loved the Last of the Mohecans...this was part of an incredibly sad scene. You guys did it such beautiful justice....you can see the passion of the music on your faces....amzing. I will be returning to purchase your CD
I remember seeing these guys at the Gig Harbor Renaissance Faire in Washington a few years ago. I really loved them, great music to dance to. :D I am so glad they're on Youtube! ♥ This isn't my favorite song of theirs, but it's definitely one of them. Nice video, too.
@JOE11106 I saw them perform at the Maryland RenFest last weekend at one of the pubs. The place was PACKED wall to wall. They're the most popular act at the festival. The audio in this video does not do the song justice. After hearing it LIVE recordings just don't have the same impact.
@TheZorch You are right, I watched them about 2 or 3 weekends ago there and that was my first time seeing them in concert. Even their CD isn't as good as seeing them live. Which there new CD was good I still like them live much better. They are very interactive with the crowd.
Wow, I miss these guys. They used to come to the Great Lakes Medieval Faire in Ohio, but they don't come anymore. I guess we aren't a big enough faire for them, or something. Love their music!
As a fan of both The Rogues and Mark Wood, I was happy to see a Wood Violins "Stingray" in the group. I hope we hear more of it. I think it compliments the pipes well.
p.s. I moved from McKinney, Texas to Sacramento, California last year. Is there any chance The Rogues can tour the west coast in the future? There's plenty of Celtic Festivals in the spring & Ren Faires in the fall, out here.
Respect!

@CaliFlyz Even the violin solo in the middle of the song sounds like another song on that soundtrack called The Kiss.

I think it is just a variation of the violin... but an electric one...

I don't know if you can answer me or not but The Violin looking thing the the one gentlmen plays what is that? Is it a Violin or something else?
LokiDevil666 2 months ago
@LokiDevil666 It's an electric violin. Since the sound is "made", it doesn't need a resonance box.
