  • I love the part when Electra loses his wig :D I laughed the hell outta me :D can't wait to see starlight express in germany :):)

  • I saw this Greaseball and Electra when the tour came to my area back in 2003 or 2004. When was this filmed?

  • 1:08 still the diesel who's pushing them... :D

  • 1:25

    Fangirl approves :3

Haha, they're just so cute together :D:D

"I can't hear nothing!" "What are you saying?" xDD

  • One rock too many?

  • HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!! Though they look and act quite drunk...lol...but I love it!

  • They look more drunk than beat up

  • I actually love CB the most, sooo sweet yet sooo evil ;)

  • haha, I love the villains most in this musical <3

  • OMG how old is this video? I saw Drue Williams play Greaseball in 86 AND 91!

  • even though this is awesome, i kinda wish that they kept it at electra doing "No Comeback" and leaving. Maybe in a new show they al sing this then Electra goes and sings No Comeback then goes away.

  • I think they're a little loopy from their loop-de-loop collision in the tunnel!

  • is this from the broadway show

  • atcually Im pretty sure this is the us tour

  • UK tour 2006

  • I LOVEEEEEEE THIS

  • Such a great song.

  • i have seen this like 10,0000000 times! even the 3d one. i LOVE it :D

  • @SophieBabes14 lucky! i couldn't see it when it was on tour because i was in the process of a move and im not old enough to have seen the originals. guess im gonna have to go to germany

  • Drue Williams - I can recognize him under 20 Greaseball´s - he had made a great job as Greaseball in Germany.

  • Oh yes, he was The Greaseball imo. I saw him in Germany as well, awesome. :)

  • Hi,

This is Dustin Dubreuil and I was Electra in this video. So if you have any questions, I can answer them for you. This was the most recently US Tour of Starlight Express 2003-2004

  • I saw your tour twice. I thought it was absolutely amazing :) I wish so bad that it was still going on - I would definately see it again if it was!

  • Tell us more about what it was like and what you had to do for the role!!!

  • how can i get a dvd of this?

  • My God, I watch this and get a discussion about a crappy casting shows like American Idol and teenager asking what sho this is from. There is no escape, eh?

  • Jared Lee is awesome! I saw him earlier this year as The King in "The King and I" and he was amazing. Great voice and a very versatile actor!

  • Ooh... they lyrics are different than on th cd- its been so long since I saw the show I 4got the original song! Shocking! lol

  • If this is indeed the "original" and Syesha was able to do what she did with this song... She deserves to win American Idol a million times. Are you serious? Why did David Cook get praised for his copy cat versions of Billie Jean and the Lionel Richie song but Syesha didn't get credit for how she "ORIGINALLY" changed this song. What she did was freaking amazing. WOW!!!

  • it's because syesha doesn't have the x factor. nobody even cared to check other versions of her song.

  • greaseball, electra and red caboose

  • I love this Song

  • oh man was that funny! lol, I take it this is from the original broadway production?

  • Syesha owned this performance and deserved more than they gave her on the show!!

I never knew the original was something like this!!!

  • is it the original version?? Well, all I can say is, Syesha's performance is way better than this!

  • But these guys are in character

  • they totally changed the words for her, so i gotta disagree. STRONGLY disagree.

besides, these men can really SING. Have YOU ever been in musical theater? Do you know how to sing , act, and do coreography in roller skates?

    didn't think so. v.v

  • what's your problem??

I only said that for me, Shesya's Performance is better than this.. Did I say that their choreography, voice, and even their act is not good??

don't be so bitter... Try to respect other opinion.. My opinion is that, and YOU have NOTHING to do about it...

  • Completely agree with you dude. I don't understand why everyone finds the need to attack other people's opinions. I think what Syesha did with this song was amazing and she deserves her praise. Though I did enjoy this as well. It's different because this is musical theatre. Syesha was on an ultimately pop show. So changing it up was basically a must to fit her style.

Both versions in their own rights are amazing. Take it or leave it.

  • Syesha does musical Theatre as well. She won state and regional awards doing musical theatre... It's one thing to have coreographers and directors and costume designers "help" you out in theatre. But Syesha did it all her self... Come on man... give this girl her props. She appreciates the arts just like the rest of us.

  • @Kuraianime actually, the lyrics she sang were from the original London preformance, but i guess they eventually changed it to be more comedic

  • Does anybody have the lyrics to this version of the song????

  • In a nutshell, it's a story about a steam engine (Rusty) who enters a race against the Diesel Greaseball and the slick Electra and several international engines. His girlfriend joins up with one of the newer engines. His 'dad' another steam engine, teaches him about the Starlight Express which helps him find his strength and he has the faith to win the race. This song happens after these guys crash on the last race.

  • SYESHA

  • where can i go see this play? and what is it about?

  • Well... It's about.. Trains. Trains racing.

  • what is this play about PLEASE tell me!!

  • when did this become a discussion about american idol? This is a totally different performance of it, and they were both good for totally different reasons!

  • alright people. heres what i thought of alw night.

syesha ROCKED. she totally made this her own and it was awesome.

jason made me want to throw up all over him b/c hes that stupid. come on even i know that a song from cats is sung by a cat!

brooke i actually liked except for starting over. but she connected with it.

david a is always awesome and he totally changed think of me. have you even heard the original? and of course he knew a woman sang it. hes not dumb!

david c was pretty good too!

  • Syesha did a great job performing this song

  • On hearing this, I am more impressed with her interpretation of this song!! Go, Syesha. Incredible!

  • Was the helmet supposed to fall off at 1:15?

  • no.

  • Yes, it's part of the show.

  • Syesha did a great job, but it was a different version. The play's version was more up beat and comical than Syesha's. Her's was more romantic and sexy. Overall, both of them were great for separate reasons PERIOD.

  • I still prefer this version of the song. I wonder if she even knows that she's singing the part of three male trains :\

  • I'm pretty sure she knows. She wouldn't have picked it if she didn't.

  • The guy with the dreads picked memory, he didn't even know the name of the show. They just listen to the songs and pick which one they like most. NONE OF THEM, I'm sure have even seen the shows.

  • David Archuleta has definitely seen "Phantom" (I read it in an article). David Cook is actually took musical theater in college so he at least knows the shows. The guy with the dreads picked "Memory" simply because it was the ONLY song he knew and apparently, didn't even bother to research.

  • The other guy picked think of me and ruined it. I don't think he knew it was a woman singing it. I did NOT like almost any of the american idols versions of Sir Andrew lloyd Webber's songs. It made me sad.

  • No, he didn't "ruin" it. He sang it differently. I'm SURE he knew a woman sang it originally. That's why he sang it differently with a different arrangement. Hell, I think it's an even BETTER, more emotional song than that bland soprano Sarah Brightman version.

  • I just re-watched the thing and he said he had no idea a woman sang it.sarah brightman's voice IS dull. There are other singers who have performed the original version much better than she. I still like the originals much much better than the remakes on idol.

  • No, he didn't. I believe you're confusing him with Jason who said he had no idea that a cat sang "Memory". He picked it it because it's only song he knew and has heard of because there are so many pop covers of it. "Think of Me" didn't have any pop covers. The only way he could've heard or known the song is if he watched the stage show/movie or listened to the score. I watched the clip, there's no indication that Archuleta didn't know that it was originally sang by a woman.

  • lol she studied musical theatre and shes probaly seen it to have picked the song one imagines, its fairly obscure a choice. she did a very different but good job in my eyes

  • ok well you acnt really compare the two i mean, its to very different situations.

  • Syesha didn't do it on skates or have sparks coming out of her back.

  • syesha didnt have too her voice was good enough without being gimmicky

  • syesha was so much better than these guys

  • syesha nailed it!

  • i totally agree.

  • Syesha did GREAT tonight.

  • zitrone i know u feel like an idiot.....Syesha killed it tonight

  • i love this song. it's so funny.

  • actually she did AMAZING! she did the best she's ever done! Broadway is def her element

  • She will be blow this, she have great great vocals! Da best for me

  • hater!

  • Syesha's Going To Nail This Puppy Tonight

It's The Only Fun Song Of The Bunch Tonight, SInce All The Others Are Basically Ballads/Depressing...

  • syesha will be singing this on american idol tonight

  • is there a video or dvd of the show?

because i really want to see it & the uk tour has just finished so i missed it.

  • When I saw it his wig fell off at the same time...

    Still Great!

  • this is just amazing, but in german it is awesome ;-)

  • 80s cheese at the height

  • andrew lloyd webber did not write sound of music he just revied it and starlight is a great musical

  • ROFL! I love this song. It's really funny when they're sparking at the beginning.

  • Lol I doubt his wig falling off was on purpose!

  • My family love this show.

  • i totally wood b Electra 4 halloween, but w/out the skates-i wood seriously injure myself lol-

  • but you don't have a costume you can't get them anywhere if you do though tell me where

  • ....u can make ur own, b creative

  • I've got an Electra costume, for a cosplay I did once. It needs work before I can wear it again. I made/bought most of it, but I had the headdress made specially.

  • Whooaaaa where did you buy the bits you didn't make?

  • I bought an electric blue catsuit, red kneepads and red legwarmers from various dance stores, I found red+blue quad skates and red bike gloves on eBay. I'm in the process of re-doing this costume (shoulder stuff, front panel, adding the sequined circuit-board look) at the moment but it'll be ongoing for a while because I'm busy. I'll see if I can dig out a pic of how it used to look.
