This is one of the ways caiques love to play. They tend to be more "aggressive" in their play habits -- far more so that other bird breeds. This is very normal, healthy, and fun activity for a caique.
Yes, but he has been happingly married for many years--he and his wife have produced some beautiful babies. He is an excellent daddy, and still very friendly with humans...!

I saw 4 of them fighting over a ball once, and it was hysterical.
They love to get on their backs and use their feet.
