  • @SGTMcCmuffin Actually, he's not messing up, just waiting for Alex to start playing.

  • @Supernikomaru no he is actual playing the wrong notes when he starts singing

  • Maravilhoso!!!

  • this is the whitest thing ive ever seen

  • When I grow up I want to be just like RUSH.

  • hilarious when alex changes his guitar, and geddys waiting to sing. @ 3;45. he is so ready to sing! i love these guys!

  • Vektor brought me here

  • incredible how alex's guitar can change colour on stage

  • Only 100 more years until the year of 2112

  • superfavorite !!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • ever wonder if the drummer sometimes feels left out haha \m/

  • what other band in the world, play´s an instrumental song, where people, can fittingly shout ``hey´´ during the song...

  • saw them in early 80s in their prime when Tom Sawyer came out. Great times!

  • all 3 virtuosos!

  • gods

  • Alex and his changing color guitar, lol.

  • At about three : twenty something. The guitar changes from black to white. :P

  • Ged's like, bitch slapping alex at 1:44

  • Hah, lame tap-dancing at 1:12

  • like this if you're listening to this in 2112!

  • THAT IS Tom Hanks! Dayum!!!

  • I have both the cd and dvd of this tour, I also have every studio album the babd has produced except the first "RUSH" my ex killed it when we split, But I will have it again soon.

I will alwys support this awesome band.

  • saw rush back in the mid 70's still the best.

  • saw rush back in the mid 70's still the best.

  • Man, that is some bad hair....

  • This bass Geddy is playing has such a beautiful design, but I prefer 2112 on the Rickenbacker.

  • @JASONCALEDONIA I personally think there better than ever now! Best band today is still RUSH by far

  • Too bad they arnt that good anymore..they old now!

  • @JASONCALEDONIA Oh yea? Guess you diddnt see the time machine tour then fuck face!

  • Adoro este grupo.

  • 1:38-1:41 is why I love this band. They can play amazing music, but they have fun doing it. They're friends, and they show it. They play with each other while playing. It's so amazing to watch them do this.

    Amazing.

  • @aharonfreeman what are you talking about they do that from start to finish

  • I can keep beat with my feet perfect to this and every song, but i have no practice with hands, but the Lord is giving and i will get it with a little help in time. And i honor and applaud you guys. You are priests, angles and were chosen by God himself back in the day you write. honor him.

  • haha I love these guys, especially when they just have a good time on stage and goof off.

  • Why is none of this on the CD???

  • os cara toca muituuu....toca muituuuu...#sonzera.

  • Happy birthday Geddy!

  • @johnanderson2112 no offense but his birthday was July 29 because I am blessed with being born on that date also

  • what bass Geddy is playing?

  • He was playing a WASHBURN bass at the time of Show of Hands...

  • @walterslzr Unless I'm completely misunderstanding you...he's definitely not playing a Washburn...it's a Wal...

  • @readinguni99 @walterslzr Wal Mk. 1 with a black gloss finish, to be more precise.

  • @walterslzr its a wal mk. 1 actually

  • I remember Rush at the Sheffield City Hall (UK) in 1978, All The World's A Stage Tour. I paid like £1.50 to see them. Did I get a good deal? Saw some awesome gigs that year and that was one of them. Alex, Geddy and Neil - you were and still are amazing at what you do

  • this is so good that i am practically cryiing.. i saw Rush live in concert before! they are super g r e a t !!!!!!

  • Never get tired of 'Overture' and neither do they thankfully.

    Robert Nix Rock/Pop Artist

  • OK so in the Rush movie, Tom Hanks plays Neil Peart. Kiefer Sutherland plays Alex Lifeson. Who plays Geddy Lee?

  • @SpAnKYnation44 Mel Brooks? He could get a wig!

  • @SpAnKYnation44-the actor, last name Brody,or Daniel Radcliffe?has to be someone very similar in looks, which is very hard to find

  • @SpAnKYnation44 I think I like Tom Hanks for Neil but He-Man for Alex and Cher for Geddy.....

  • SNAP OUT OF IT!!!! 1:45

  • Look at Neil in his tank-top. He doesn't give a fuck. He's just there to play drums!

  • @GeddyRules2112 Male pattern hair loss. He cares absolutely nothing about it because he knows his hair can't mutate into another hand and activate MIDI triggers for him.

  • 3:45 - such a neilish move

  • Im sorry, but how can rock and roll get any better than this!! I mean if I had to pick the best 5 songs of all time this would be close to 1! I remember listening to this in like 5th grade. What a great time to be young when Rock was at it's best (75-85)!

What do we have now, The jonas brothers!?

  • 32 people should be sent to siberia...asap

  • These three guys have the best job ever.

  • Geddy's voice is Raging good, and alex is always on top of the guitar world, and well i don't need to say anything about Neil

  • For the 32 douchebags that gave this a thumbs down, you must have a poster of Boy George in your bedroom. Piss off!

  • tom hanks on the drums!

  • @fearview aaaaahhh... I guess you saw Neil Peart acting in Forrest Gump, Big, Cast Away, The Green Mile and a "few" other movies isn't it? :D

  • @fearview muito show!!!!!!!!!!!

  • God this generation is so full of mainstream stuff and people listening to "music".

Why don't they do like rush?

Rush was told to make something more radio friendly after the Fly By Night album, instead they did the opposite! Twentyone fucking twelve!

Music is about souls and work... not write some lyrics, have some guy make a beat, and sell yourself out. Stupid mainstream pop now a days... wish I was alive in the 60-70-80's!

  • Wait... 0:52 White guitar

    0:58 black guitar?

Wow, alex IS really a god with that guitar!

  • @123DTRAY123 guitarists change guitars all the time during concerts because they might be differently tuned or sound different. Its not like hes magical or anything................... oh wait he is!

  • @123DTRAY123 Alex is a Guitar God, no doubt. However, it looks like footage from several concerts on this tour were edited together for the DVD . . .

  • I was at this gig seems like so long ago......it was!

  • When will these guys finally marry?

  • @fanofeverything Niel's wife died.

  • @hammerheadshark45 What!!!!??????

  • @fanofeverything They've been married since their first album (at least I know Alex for sure)

  • 3:31 xD coooooool i love rush :)

  • neil peart, forever alone xDDD!

  • I am Rushian, get it?

  • Best live band ever. Cheers, Chemical Fred.

  • Neil Peart never had full hair xD

  • @tsubasa1988 what about the mullet?

  • @passion4drums

    It's the 1980's dumb ass.

  • @JAValdes1000 good for you? i never said it wasn't... explain yourself please.. that dumb ass said he never had full hair, and i gave him the argument that he did and gave an example... and you come in saying what year it was..?

  • Man I was born in the wrong decade. Saw them last night and they still kick so much ass and the effects where the shit!!! Im 17 now but I was I was 17 back in 1976-1986. But whatever I'm lucky to have seen them.

  • I'm so happy that I got to watch them play the entire song live on the "Test For Echo" tour.

  • Still friends since 1974. Alex Lifeson, John Rutsey and Geddy Lee were the start in 1968, then in 1970 or something, Geddy went to a band named Judd, then in 1972 he came back, then in 1974 Neil came in.

  • bravo sokolovi

  • neil peart, one of the very few drummers to ever show up early, why? because the set guys need to build his drum set AROUND HIM

  • @Treifla if you think Neil's drum set is big, check out Terry Bozzio's. Its ridiculous. Too bad he hasn't done much of anything interesting since he stopped playing for Frank Zappa...

  • Rush <3

  • Were is the rest of the song?

  • @SuperHairyDick They only play Overture/The Temples of Syrinx live, not the whole thing.

  • he is without a doubt, the best drummer ever!

  • @jimguy3040 i do agree Neil Peart is 1 of the best drummers ever, But 2 say ( the best ) might be a stretch !! there so many drummers out there like Carl Palmer from E.L.P. , The drummer from Dream Theatre, and so many more. Even though I like Rush's music better these other drummers are right there. Neil's licks are perfect, But is perfect always perfect if your looking 4 emotion. I'm not saying He's not an emotional drummer but it's like compareing Steve Vai and Eric Clapton. U cant do it.

  • @dansuerowe1 mike portnoy is the drummer of dream theater, but i heard he got kicked out =/

  • It's good thanks for your message...

  • Geddy looks like my friends mom. I never said she was hot...

  • This has to be their most badass concert

  • @CK3890 Actually, it's 988.

  • all of your uploads from "a show of hands" never have the end in it

  • Alex does voodoo magic trick and turns his guitar white!!!!!!!

  • 3:31 Y U NO PLAY GUITAR, ALEX?

  • @CaptainKupo If only you could put a picture along with your comments lol

  • @CaptainKupo He broke a string/tuning slipped so he changed guitars :)

  • @CaptainKupo No talking shiznit of Neil;)

  • Although I am guitarist Geddy just makes me want to play bass.

  • @SavageDutchman same!

  • AND THE TRUTH SHALL SET US FREE

  • you will never find a three piece band with half the talent as RUSH. One of the few bands that sound like their recorded music. Best live show you'll find.....

  • @GrooveCat713 Emerson, Lake & Palmer.

  • 31 people think the Jonas Brothers are a better trio

  • An orgasm for your ears.

  • I know i'll probably get a bashing for saying i discovered Rush through Guitar Hero...but OH MY GOD, THIS IS AMAZING.

  • @laura2908 No shame bro, the good thing is you discovered the epic that is Rush!

  • i belived they just humped the crowd with there rocking

  • wow dec 12 21 2012 11 11 wow his music is telling you something lets wake up the world

  • @dstarlight1000 I know! I mean like, 11 + 11 = 22 and 22 + 889 = 911!!!!! WAKE UP YOU IDIOTS!

  • At 3:30 I LOL every time.

  • music class wooo!!!

  • 2:14 = orgasmic

  • i was about to comment that i feel sorry for neil not being able to jam with the guys at the front of the stage, but then i remembered that he is neil peart, and hes is one of the greatest humans ever born. x

  • Yeah...

  • best band ever.

  • @bobmarleyisgod1

i think it was a "Wal" bass he used at the time.

  • Watch Geddy at 4:47 kick his groove in, singing like an Angel and rocking the bass. Everytime I watch a Rush video I have a different favorite moment, and that is now my favorite moment in this one. ;-)

  • Watch Geddy at 4:47 kick his groove in, singing like an Angel and rocking the bass. Everytime I watch a Rush video I have a different favorite moment, and that is now my favorite moment in this one. ;-)

  • @bobmarleyisgod1 That is a British Wal bass. He used for about 7 or 8 years. From HYF to RtB.

  • 1:40 - 1:47 hahhahahahahahahah

  • Ha , 0:17 - we got a gormer

  • Look at that amazing mans drums set!

  • I photographed Rush in 1975 and 1977 in Canada. You could see the shots by going to .ianmarkmusicphotos (.com)

  • Not a bad song, well orchestrated.

Now I'm afraid I'm going to piss off all the rush fans, but IMO:

Rush is an ego streak, which I personally dislike

  • @MrWayJay As long as you know they make good music I'm fine. If you dis rush for anything but that, i'm fine.

  • @MrWayJay

what do you mean by "an ego streak" ?

  • Wow. These are talented musicians. Plus Geddy plays bass, piano fills and sings. Each of their songs that starts you immediately know its them. The radio does not even have to mention their name because you know its them. Incredible drummer and lead guitarist. Thanks, enjoyed the video.

  • This is the version of 2112 most dear to my heart....got to know and love rush on this live album....solid fan ever since. 6X live, back for more

  • i wish i could play bass like that....

  • For those of you who like complex guitar solos, listen to rush´s guitar solo from the song cut to the chase.Crazy shit

  • Esse baterista é muito foda

  • Rush gives me shivers!

  • Peart is the living Forrest Gump. Not only the looks, but the whole life dificulty stuff. Cheers to Neil!

  • this song live gives me butterflies

  • 2:14 Geddy whispers "I Farted"

  • MASTERPIECE

  • From the opening of Overture, back in the OLD days in jr. high in the 70s, I was hooked for life on Rush! I probably wore out 4 or 5 copies on vinyl over the years till CDs came along! The great thing about CDs? I can hit REPEAT and just let classics like this roll & roll till I get my fill! Damn I still love this stuff!

  • 3rd best-selling rock group of all-time, only behind the Beatles & Stones. Enuff Said !!!!

    No actually, where's America's answer to these 3 bands. Notta ... That's Where !!!!

  • Man, Geddy and Alex are fool arounds, really funny guys. Especially Neil too. Even their laughs are really funny to hear, even in other videos.

  • Love the way Geddy and Alex goof around onstage. while playing.

  • geddy lee looks an awful lot like rob dyrdek

  • 28 bieber fans

  • I love that they have so much fun on stage.

  • Because of the usual lousy-singing from the great bass-player Lee, I can not up the volume... Too bad because the super awesome drumming can not be fully enjoyed.

  • Pert is the number 1 drummer of all time, I looked it up on several sites. Rush is in my top ten for sure!

  • ha love it the best LYRICS EVER & MUSIC,,,,,,& IM 42YRS..LOVE THE BOYS..????

  • Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Pert are the greatest musicians in the history of the universe. Period. End of story. All haters go lock yourself in a closet with a strobe light and an epileptic.

  • That song always pwned my selfcontrol.

  • I love this. Half of it they're messing with each other, being the goofballs they are, and the other half there's just completely fucking owning the performance. Rush forever.

  • feel like im in highschool when i listen to this...great great stuff!

  • BEST RECORDING OF 2112 EVER

  • it sure is awesome seeing three famous guys jamming out and having a fun time

  • Amazing stuff for 3 ace guys

  • "Neil Peart Looks like Tom Hanks OMG"... No... Tom Hanks Looks like Neil Peart.

  • @Esperant3 and Alex= Kiefer Sutherland!

  • @Esperant3 Holy sh** tom hanks does look like neil peart ;)

  • @Esperant3 Geddy Lee looks just like a witch

    Think about it

Picture him with the tall pointy black witch hat

    Hes a witch

  • tom hanks looks like niell peart

  • 27 idiots that dont like rock dident like this.

  • Anyone know what kind of bass Geddy is playing here? Looks cool.

  • @Metallifuch cant remember, theres an interview where he goes through all the different basses hes used over the years

  • @Metallifuch That is a Wal bass my friend.

  • I loved it..Pure Canadian, Eh?

  • Of all of Neil's kits this is my favorite. The reason I like it better than his tama kits: the deep 6x9, 8x9 and 10x9 double headed toms. The color pops! Also, this kit flat-out sounds better than his DW. The cut down 8" Dw toms have too much of thin "plink plink" sound that doesn't even sound as good as concert toms.
