I miss King of the Ring. It gave alot of wrestlers something to do rather then the same old boring wrestlers. It launched alot of careers expect Mabel and Billy Gunn haha
Soon its time fior the King of the ring 2010. Though I remember Billy Gunn winning the 1999 one as well and I loved it. Though he wasnt pushed that immensly except for facing The Rock at SummerSlam and he never got over as a singles competitor which I will never understand why.

Regarding the SmackDown side: Christian is injured and cant compete so he wont be there. Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre are good choices. But I think we can all mark Alberto del Rio's name right into the tournament no doubt! He is one of WWE's biggest up and comers now and he is in the middle of a huge prospect for the future. He might even end up winning the entire tournament. Bare with me, I dont say that as a major fan of him!

The guy has 11 years experience of pro wrestling. He is a former amateur with extraordinary accolades; being the third best junior in the world. He's also the best amateur wrestler from the Central American region. He's also of big wrestling descent in South America. So you better know this isnt Regular Joe. This is a world-class athlete.

I already told you why Alberto del Rio had done a lot. I cannot sit here and repeat myself. He is a wellrounded, well-sound, successful routined athlete. He has more than a decade of prowrestling. Its an insult not to push.. if WWE wouldnt push him he would have gone to TNA instead and WWE would lose a major talent.

Regarding the RAW-side; how can you forget about Daniel Bryan? He should be in there, I would love for him to win. Him, Ted DiBiase are given for me. R.Truth I might agree on him, but seeing as John Morrison is engaged in a program with Sheamus I am not so sure. Feels more like he is on a test ride for the big scene with current feud with Sheamus, much like Kofi kingston was with Randy Orton last year.

Christian has had a lengthy succesful and if he retired today he'd have a proud storied career to look back on. But considering he is a healthy athlete that has taked good care of himself he might have a couple of more years in him :)
How come wwe announced that they were getting rid of survivor series and then now they are using it anyways I mean I am glad they decided to keep it but find it strange that vince would be set enought on the idea to annouce wwe was done with survivor series... and then to go back it...

King of the Ring SHOULD be every year in July and the winner should get rewarded a title shot the next month at Summerslam. And like u said the final 4 in the tournament should wrestle at the KOTR ppv. It would be great to see a final 4 of Shamus, Cena, Barret and CM Punk (just for an example)
they should unify the World HW title and the WWE title at King of the Ring then have the winner of the KOTR face the Undisputed champion at Summerslam. Never would happen, but interesting thought
Damn right, Morrison for World Champ, and that's a great set up of some Matches - However the only way i see this happening is providing they DON'T unify the titles. I doubt they would make a Mid-Carder into a World Champion if they could only have 1 Champ, I think they'd much rather pass it round Cena, Orton, Edge and Taker. Which is shit. lol - I want to see them elevate some great Mid-Carders! (E.G Morrison!!)
What I'd love to see is the King of the Ring return not only to PPV but actually having the whole thing in one night, from first round matches to the finals. While I liked the '96 KOTR I didn't like how they did the first round and quarters on TV while having the semis and finals on PPV. I like the whole tourney in one night, and if it has to go 5 hours so be it

i think you've got to chuck Kofi Kingston in there somewhere. I may be biased here but i thought that he was a great champion with all titles he's held and then he had a good feud with Orton which proved he could main event so i think he could make the step up.
There are already way to many ppvs they need to be cut down to 10 because there isnt enough time for build up in this era but WWE is growing on me again can't wait for the Survivor Series this year.
Hey Jeff I had an idea for an angle that could bring back Edge and Christian for a Mania match. Basically turn Rey heal by turning on Edge during SD and having him team with Del Rio. Win the Tag Team Titles and beat down Edge for a couple of weeks costing him Title wins and what not. GM Long tells the champs that they will defend their gold at Mania against Edge and a partner of his choosing setting up an ENC reunion for the Titles. What do you Think?

In 2002, the bracket was 4 rounds, the first 2 on television, semi and final on PPV, same with 2006, except it was 3 rounds and only the final was PPV, if your going for 3 wins 1 night, the most recent guy was Regal on the April 21st RAW, but I woulden't really call him beating Hornswaggle in 18 seconds a real valid win

Here's what I think should happen, all same night. Cena breaks away from Nexus. Wins title from Wade Barrett, but Miz cashes in and beats him which leads up to WM27 Miz vs Cena since they could build a Miz/Cena like they did Orton/Triple H at 25. Morisson wins KOTR but he challenges the winner of the Kane vs whoever because I really don't think Edge is going to win. So possibly just Kane. Kane wants a rematch but has to deal with Taker so that leads to a Morisson/McIntyre feud at WM

A perfect time for Morrison to have a good opportinuity to put him in the mainevent would probably be when Morrison replaced Jericho in the 6 pack challenge. Putting him RAW was a huge mistake. R-truth did more there.
King of the Ring is meant for a mid carder that needs that push to get them into the spotlight for an immediate title shot. Names I think would be perfect: Bryan Danielson, Kaval, Alberto Del Rio, Ted DiBiase, John Morisson possibly all for the heel turns.
Who I think WWE is going to give it to that I don't think deserve it: Sheamus, McIntyre, Cena, Miz, Dolph Ziggler.

I think Alberto Del Rio would be a perfect KOTR winner because it fits his character. He can walk around claiming that he's King Del Rio. His gimmick is that he's better than everyone else anyway so it can stick
Owen was perhaps the best KOTR. He ran with that gimmick. I put Angle and Regal up there as well. Owen even changed his name. He came "The King Of Harts" after winning it.
I remember heel Lawler - but from DVD's and sech, not from actually watching back then. He was so good at generating heat that I couldn't decide if he was good or if I hated him

@mechatommy ive seen alex riley wrestle in fcw. hes good but look at all the other guys he mentioned he would put in the KOTR...how the hell does he fit in with them when he has only been on the main roster for a few months. yes daniel bryan has only been back since august but he could be in the raw finals and have a killer match with morrsion, lose to morrison and make morrison look like a stud.
gotta say, I agree with the booking, Jeff. I am a major fan of Morrison. And for all the guys yelling at him about forgetting Austin, he forgot Mabel too, and Owen and while Mabel was ill-advised, he did become the first man to cleanly pin Taker on a PPV if I recall, so that was a big moment. Then Owen's storyline with his bro, so yeah he can't remember everything, that and KOTR needs to have a PPV again...a lot of big moments and memories there. Hope the KOTR RAW is good.
@TheBSKILL Fatal 4 Way didn't seem like a gimmick match (Or PPV) anyway. Just a regular stipulated match. I didn't see Over The Limit, but I heard it was bad.
@MXLDisturbed Yeah but there's no purpose for those shows. King of the Ring would actually elevate a wrestler and progress storylines rather than a PPV w/ a random ass gimmick attached.
@TheBSKILL, They really should drop those two worthless PPV's and spend the extra time building the people who will be involved in KOTR, imagine how many stars could be built up before the big match ups at KOTR, one of the main problems with WWE is too many PPV's and far less time to give fans a reason to actually buy them, it's sad that WWE will be a week away from a PPV and have less than 4 matches announced.
@TheDalinkwent I hate that shit. Summerslam this year had 5 matches !? WTF ! not even well thought out ones either. PPVs are becoming almost like 3 Hour RAWs. Your lucky to get two good matches per show. If they scrapped a few PPVs and had at least a full month in between shows MAYBE we'd care a little more.
I actually preferred it when RAW and SD! we're separate PPVs because feuds had time to develop and each card would have 6 or 7 solid match ups. Plus more Wrestlers GET USED !

The real feud isnt between Sheamus and Santino Marella, its between Sheamus and John Morrison which you forgot? to mention in your previous.
Secondly there is a big difference in winning the championship within 4-5 months on WWE TV AND winning a King of the Ring tournament.

Regarding the RAW-side; how can you forget about Daniel Bryan? He should be in there, I would love for him to win. Him, Ted DiBiase are given for me. R.Truth I might agree on him, but seeing as John Morrison is engaged in a program with Sheamus I am not so sure. Feels more like he is on a test ride for the big scene with current feud with Sheamus, much like Kofi kingston was with Randy Orton last year.

I doubt they would make a Mid-Carder into a World Champion if they could only have 1 Champ, I think they'd much rather pass it round Cena, Orton, Edge and Taker. What I'd love to see is the King of the Ring return not only to PPV but actually having the whole thing in one night, from first round matches to the finals. While I liked the '96 KOTR I didn't like how they did the first round and quarters on TV while having the semis and finals on PPV. Hey Jeff I had an idea for an angle that could bring back Edge and Christian for a Mania match. Basically turn Rey heal by turning on Edge during SD and having him team with Del Rio. Win the Tag Team Titles and beat down Edge for a couple of weeks costing him Title wins and what not. GM Long tells the champs that they will defend their gold at Mania against Edge and a partner of his choosing setting up an ENC reunion for the Titles. What do you Think?

Here's what I think should happen, all same night. Cena breaks away from Nexus. Wins title from Wade Barrett, but Miz cashes in and beats him which leads up to WM27 Miz vs Cena since they could build a Miz/Cena like they did Orton/Triple H at 25. Morisson wins KOTR but he challenges the winner of the Kane vs whoever because I really don't think Edge is going to win. So possibly just Kane. Kane wants a rematch but has to deal with Taker so that leads to a Morisson/McIntyre feud at WM

@freakinyaya88 shut up alex riley isnt green. ive seen him compete live and he is great. Just because you've never seen him before he came to raw and wwe dosent meen you can say that he is a bad wrestler. daniel Bryan already has a title.

@mechatommy ive seen alex riley wrestle in fcw. hes good but look at all the other guys he mentioned he would put in the KOTR...how the hell does he fit in with them when he has only been on the main roster for a few months. yes daniel bryan has only been back since august but he could be in the raw finals and have a killer match with morrsion, lose to morrison and make morrison look like a stud.

The KOTR concept is cool but MITB is now basically the new KOTR because it's a guaranteed title shot, just more exciting.

gotta say, I agree with the booking, Jeff. I am a major fan of Morrison. And for all the guys yelling at him about forgetting Austin, he forgot Mabel too, and Owen and while Mabel was ill-advised, he did become the first man to cleanly pin Taker on a PPV if I recall, so that was a big moment. Then Owen's storyline with his bro, so yeah he can't remember everything, that and KOTR needs to have a PPV again...a lot of big moments and memories there. Hope the KOTR RAW is good.

@TheBSKILL Fatal 4 Way didn't seem like a gimmick match (Or PPV) anyway. Just a regular stipulated match. I didn't see Over The Limit, but I heard it was bad.

@MXLDisturbed Yeah but there's no purpose for those shows. King of the Ring would actually elevate a wrestler and progress storylines rather than a PPV w/ a random ass gimmick attached.

@TheBSKILL, They really should drop those two worthless PPV's and spend the extra time building the people who will be involved in KOTR, imagine how many stars could be built up before the big match ups at KOTR, one of the main problems with WWE is too many PPV's and far less time to give fans a reason to actually buy them, it's sad that WWE will be a week away from a PPV and have less than 4 matches announced.

@TheDalinkwent I hate that shit. Summerslam this year had 5 matches !? WTF ! not even well thought out ones either. PPVs are becoming almost like 3 Hour RAWs. Your lucky to get two good matches per show. If they scrapped a few PPVs and had at least a full month in between shows MAYBE we'd care a little more.
I actually preferred it when RAW and SD! we're separate PPVs because feuds had time to develop and each card would have 6 or 7 solid match ups. Plus more Wrestlers GET USED !
