@thorsbomber44442 , first off, that's a "Sawfish", and it's a ray, not a shark. Despite fearsome appearances, they do not attack people unless provoked or surprised. They use their snout to dig, stun/hurt prey, and also to defend themselves against predators, such as sharks.
The Tavern at Phipps (in ATLANTA) is a RACIST PLACE; THEY KICK OUT BLACKS FOR NOT GIVING UP THEIR SEATS TO WHITE WOMEN. EAT THEIR AT YOUR OWN RISK. Oh, & DON'T WALK ON THE PUBLIC SIDEWALK IN THE CITY OF ATLANTA PARK 'Frankie Allen' park; CAUSE BUCKHEAD BASEBALL IS KICKING MINORITES OUT. All with the help & consent of the APD. The local paper didn't consider it "news-worthy" when i told them about Buckhead Baseball. But you can YouTube 'Buckhead Baseball' & real ALL the comments about it.
00:18 Hammer Head shark, 00:30 Wobbegong shark, 00:38 the big guy Whale Shark, 00:52 Black tip reef shark, 1:30 Saw Shark and Giant Shovelnose ray, as you can see i fucking love sharks!
Nice vid! You know u can also read amazing dive stories on the myscubastory site. Type myscubastory into google and click on the first seach result !
I want to aquarium dive so bad, but its expensive and everywhere I've looked, you have to be a certified diver. I live about 5 minutes from Camden, NJ and they have a green sea turtle at the Camden Adventure Aquarium that I would love to swim with.
@RLScubaSchool, hey guys, good to hear from you. That's awesome that you went diving in the wild with 'em. I've always wanted to do that, so hopefully I will. Keep in touch!
Curious, do you have any pets, or have you ever had any? Nature also intended for them to live in the wild, not in your home, or your yard. Nature also intended for you to shit in the forest, and wipe your ass with leaves, not kill the trees you currently wipe it with.
After looking at your channel, I see you're quite the fish conservationist. LOL!
These particular sharks are actually in a better environment than where they came, and this is not a small tank, but rather the largest in the world. The Georgia Aquarium also raises awareness, and funds, for the plight of our oceans and the animals that live within.
anyone who thinks a blacktip reef shark is not mean I challange you to go up and pet one. I am very aware that divers do feed sharks in the wild by putting fish bait in there mouths, and feed them that way. The only problem is sharks in the wild or in captivaty is unpredictable
Thanks for the votes on my video! I did not intend to take it off the video response so I put it back up. I guess when I posted at the GA Aquarium, it took off the link from your video. It was after seeing your video that inspired me to take my own and to try my hand at iMovie...thanks! While the footage is awesome, it does not do the experience justice...like you said in your posts, if one has the chance and resources to do it, they should. A lifetime memory! Cheers!!!
You don't have to dive with them, you can swim. (I can't dive, medical stuff.) I just did the swim (see "Dana swims with the whale sharks") and it was almost effortless. And AMAZING! I can't say enough about the staff and the facilities at the Georgia Aquarium. I absolutely recommend this program. Great video, Bubba! I can't wait to go there again. I still can't believe they actually let me do this...
Scuba diving and swimming are similar but different. You actually don't have to be a great swimmer to scuba dive, but you should learn to swim decently, naturally, and most all certifications require it.
You have to be certified to dive at the GA Aquarium.
Go to Google and then type in "GA Aquarium Swim Dive". The swim program is $225 (get 10% off if you're a member), and the dive program is $325 (same 10% off if you're a member). The swim and dive portion lasts approx. 30 min., but the entire experience is approx. 2.5 to 3 hours long. You also get to view "behind the scenes" stuff at the aquarium, which is truly quite amazing.
Thank you for this beautiful and inspiring video, I'm new to the sport working on my open water PADI certification, diving in the incredible Pacific Northwestern waters. All the rules and calculations are still new to me. Can't wait to see my first Giant Pacific Octopus! Thanks again!
That is absolutely awesome to hear! I'm proud to see others learning to dive. It is so amazing and unreal. If you ever get a chance, go to Puerto Rico and dive the SW side of Desecheo Island (do a Wiki lookup on it). Check out Taino Divers on the web.
this looks so amazing..but i think i'd be terrified to do it. i'd love to do this...but honestly, i think i'd get scared going in the water with all those sharks and stingrays, hehe.
It's initially a feeling of suspense and excitement. Once you get down, everything becomes very serene. You will forget about all the concerns almost immediately. That's how diving is in general. It's the most amazing and peaceful thing one can ever experience.
well yes, that i know. i have gone diving before. i just meant the fact that there are a couple of sharks and stingrays...that's a little bit terrifying for me! haha
ok, I just did this dive on Friday and bought the video too. I am trying to upload it to youtube but it is separated into a bunch of different files. How did you get yours to upload? Help, my family is dying to see the video and I can't seem to figure it out.
I used DVDShrink to copy the files to my harddrive, and then I used "Windows Movie Maker" to convert the files, and combine the two I wanted, into a format that YT would accept.
You can find this and much more information out on the GA Aquarium website under the FAQ for the Dive Program. However, to answer your question directly:
All participants must be age 12 and older. Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult. The SCUBA option is open to all certified divers. Proof of SCUBA certification from a nationally or internationally recognized organization must be provided, along with photo identification.
The first 3 minutes is the opener, filmed previously, that most likely everyone will get on their video of their scuba diving adventure. The next 5:47 seconds is actually the pod (dive team) we were apart of. At 3:00 min in exactly, you will see me on the far right, and and my partner next to me. From then, you'll see us throughout the remaining of the video.
Wow. I'm planning on going in December and had no idea it would be that cool. I have done Disney's Epcot DiveQuest in the past, so I knew that aquarium dives would rock, but I'm very excited about going now.
Beautifully shot video. I had the honor of being in the very first group of "civilians" to participate in this program and it was an experience I will never forget. Watching these animals from outside the aquarium windows is breathtaking, however being right next to them was indescribable. If you have the opportunity to participate in this program, do not pass it up!

@blueladytiger that is to keep certain aggressive fish away from us divers.
