  • I had heard of Big Boots and about how it was this great legendary unreleased song but never really bought into the hype... then I was watching Meeting People is Easy and I heard this song and I thought "wow, this is a great song, wonder what it is?" and then the end came...

"the worms will come for you

    big boots."

    Mind. Blown.

  • the ending is just perfect. this should have been released like this

  • It seems to me a place where they play, is now used for filming "Live from the basement".

  • I actually like the way it sounds here. Recorded this part of MPIE as audio only and love listening it as a recorded song:)

Someone should cover it the exact same way it sounds here (minus the talking:))

  • @TyakaB I know exactly what you mean, it sounds haunting but perfection.

  • you can actually use this beat in a hip hop tune

    radiohead rules!

  • BIG BOOBS

  • for me, best part of this recording is the guitar while thom sings in the beginning. it sounds so.. raw. i dont know what the right word is. its just sexy and amazing

  • So this is Radiohead failing to nail a track. Just makes you wish they'd show some footage of when they get it right!

  • 2:22

    Shit it wasnt me guys!

  • still to us...it's per genius !

  • well done with the editing from meeting people is easy

  • 1:20 when everything is pulled together, sooo epic.

  • this song and lift are two of the greatest radiohead songs that never were. hope this one gets on lp8.

  • awesome

  • The one song that should have been on a studio album.

  • fuck fuck fuck. i want this song. i want this song. i need this song on the new album. i need it

i just watch this vid over and over and i love it so much.

  • ahhhh!! i feel their frustration but dang they are picky! this song would have been the pinnacle of ANY other band's recording career....if only things had gone better that day. shoot!

  • 2:46 omg ghost

    ;-)

  • Seeing Thom get really excited about Jonny's synth playing at 2:28 was the best.

  • I originally taped this old school thru my television, always loved it!!

  • haha, they look so bored

  • What an asshole you are man! How they can be bored in this video if they were doing thier music, if they were doing what they love the most in their lifes... Think a little bit more your comments, your words back up your thoughts, think about that. Bye!

  • wow, dont get so defensive. you can tell that they are getting stressed out and it doesnt exactly look like they are having fun. i love radiohead, and all i was saying was that they just looked kind of miserable.

  • lo malo de radiohead es que suenan tan bien en vivo que las versiones de estudio nunca superan estas

  • Well, fingers crossed they will get it together with this studio session. This could make an appearance on LP8 (or whatever is next released)

Play it at Reading Festival please!

  • What Albim is this on???

  • hasnt been released yet....such a shame

  • Unreleased

  • The speakers on top of the mixing desk at the begining, look like faces

  • can't put it any better....fucking brilliant...

  • I prefer this version to any other tbh

even if they did release it officialy, I'd still just listen to this :)

  • Come on!!! this song its great!!!, i don't know why they don't like it..... =(

  • brilliant

  • Thom is always so mean to Johnny because he is like the youngest one..Poor Johnny =[

  • He said fucking brilliant. He wasn't being mean.

  • it was just so fucking brilliant, he had to emphasize the fuck. that's all.

  • what are you on about? please explain!

  • ... In case you didn't notice, this is Radiohead. You want happy, you came to the wrong place.

  • Fair point, well made. now where did I leave my gun....

  • this song is amazing

    hmmm yup

    so good!

    xxxx

  • hopefully this will mirror the development of nude, they work it over for 10 years and it turns out as one of the most butiful songs ever written.

  • the bohemian rhapsody of the twenty first century! I hope to god radiohead get off the blow and realise that. the fans need this to be released!

  • really? sorry didn't realise i was in the company of a genius?! forgive me but fuck you! get back to whatever it is you pass off as music..educate me!

  • Company - not to my knowledge.

A tad profane arent we? Time of the month perhaps?

    I forgive you.

  • I don't know, Radiohead has said that they abandoned the song. Yeah, there are a ton of songs they have written that have been released much later in their career or was a difficult process (like Knives Out). I hope they do release it but maybe its one of those songs that they just keep screwing up and fighting over.

From this version it sounds like they are trying to add too much. The live version is pretty simple.

  • i hope to god they DO record this song. it's great.

  • there are vids on here of it from 98

  • This will be in the next album, just watch.

Nude was in the works for 8 years at least, I have a live album that had em playing it from 2000.

  • That's ten years.

Radiohead have been remaking their abandoned stuff since The Bends anyway.

A few examples are: Sulk and High + Dry are Pablo Honey leftovers, and The Bends (song) was written in 1993.

  • there is a live preformance of Nude from 1998

  • orly??

  • geniuses at work

  • god this is such a good song...hopefully in the future they'll release this on a new album cuz this is just amazing

  • where did u get this video

  • It's from the film, 'Meeting People is Easy'

  • Ed wrote half of this song.

WHAT YOU SAY ABOUT THAT BITCHES

  • Im acually surprised..The only member of the band that writes songs besides Thom is Johnny..Never expected Ed to write. thanks for the info :D

  • @theleo2004

Ed wrote the guitar for Street Spirit and Go to Sleep, if I'm not mistaken. He can be awesome when they let him out of his cage.

  • @theleo2004 bitches generally bark, so "woof" i guess

  • @theleo2004 hahahahaha. Brilliant!

  • @theleo2004 maybe thats why they never recorded it!! Just jokes - love Ed :-)

  • This video almost makes up for the fact the song never got a propper recording. I really like the way the song sounds in bits... It's actually really interesting to hear all the separate elements coming together

  • i think they have always been closely approaching musical perfection

that's gotta be difficult to follow

cuz they're always improving somehow anyway. they could do a track that would sound awesome to me but how do they impress themselves when they are already so good

hey, any secret b-sides from in rainbows kicking around on?

  • disc 2 is the the b-sides :-D and it fuckin rules.

the wormz will come for you.....big boots..

  • loved it

  • it was only a joke...granted that it might not have been a good one anyways cheers to an incredible song.

  • I don't believe that they haven't released this because they can't get it right...I think they know that the world isn't ready for this yet, I mean something so beautiful could have a very dangerous effect on society, I mean I would assume that everyone would just lay down where ever they heard it and never get up again...WAIT THAT"S IT, That's what's uttered at the end of the Just video, the guy says big boots, even the name is enough!

  • society doesn't exist

  • It's such a shame, they really seemed to be onto it, despite what Thom says, the way the song sounds around 2:00-2:30 is amazing.

  • its nice to see thom so encouraging to jhonny at the end :)

  • waaah.. waaah WAAAH why they not record this great song?

  • Drift all your life from ocean to ocean search the whole world for drunken confessions and hijakced afairs that make you more aware if you come home I'll bake you a cake made out of your lies I wish you could see me dressed for the kill what a nasty surprise
  • So unplug the phones

    stop all the taps

    from poisioned elves

    to poisioned dwarfs

    what a nasty surprise

the worms will come for you, big boots

    for you, big boots

  • Corrections in capitals.

    "Drift all YOU LIKE..."

"...WILL JUST make you more ALONE"

    "...Made of all THEIR EYES"

    "...Stop all the taps,

    IT ALL COMES FLOODING BACK,

    From poison CLOUD..."

If memory serves, the lyrics were written somewhere on the DVD case of Meeting People Is Easy. They were also buried in some early incarnation of the Radiohead website.

  • the lyrics are on the blurb of the dvd. In weird format.

  • Muse. . . and Radiohead!? what's all that about?

  • My two favorite bands...

  • I just find it unusual that anyone could use the two in the same sentence? I've always thought of muse as a kind of 'poor mans' Radiohead maybe but each to his own I suppose.

  • Jeez... I'm not even gonna start.

  • MOOG ROGUE!!

  • Any1 know if they have actually recorede a version of true love waits yet?

  • they recorded it on the "I might be wrong" EP

  • classic song

  • The bass line kicks my ASS!

  • Soo deep

I love In Rainbows, but it's such a shame they didn't make it a double album with more tracks on the second cd, like True Love Waits, Big Boots ...

damn it, i hate to love soo much Radiohead.

  • cake is a lie

    cake is a lie

    cake is a lie

  • DESU

    DESU

    DESU

    also, cocks.

  • fag memes are for fags

  • What is this song about? If u can tell me of cource(I'm not English-talking)

  • it's about loving someone and letting them be free to find out for themselves that you're the one they love.

  • That's all? About love? Are you sure? How disappointing... Btw I have a dvd of "MPIE"=)

  • yeah, I have it too. Great dvd.

Are you kidding me? Love is the most complicated thing ever.

  • Of course I'm not. Love is simple and not interesting. Theme for pop singers.

  • Pure and the most strong chemistry, control, many deceptive confusing mechanisms. So it just wont let u understand anything. And if u try, it hurts, prevents so hard that u feel a real physical tearing away of true thoughts.Very strong and difficult.

  • @norfnorfnorf huh? Sure it is a pretty overused and insipid theme in most pop songs, it really does my head in. But actual love? If you have ever really loved someone, surely you must know it is anything but simple. It has been scientifically proven that love and madness are not really that different.

  • @RH98

actual love? love between 2 genders(or gay love nvm)? I meant it. It's like madness because u r being controlled by your brain and that logic is not yours but your brain's logic. It controls you, corrects and helps you in any other situations but not that strong. Normal emotions for example: It makes you angry to help you to fight, it works awesome sometimes, you know=). Just take a look on any aspect(when u're not in love) and u'll see how does nature work, it lies you.

  • @RH98 fan of hamlet?

  • If u r talking about love between 2 persons. Another type of love - love to all. And it has many different reasons and no mechanisms.

  • i really hope their next album is based around this song, like extremely gritty OK computerish dark songs with synths dissonant distorted guitars and drum loops..

  • I actually own "Meeting People Is Easy" and had completely forgotten about this segment! Thanks!

  • i think they tried just about every instrument in the studio and it just wasn't doing it for them.

  • yeah well it was doing it for me by god lol.. especially in the middle when the drum and bass really kick in

  • sur in rainbows, ça aurait été super! elle est très belle cette chanson!

  • thom said he'll bake us a cake! :D

  • oh putin avant 3 min les boutons bougent tout seul :O Nigel Godrich est un magicien c'est verifié !

  • Wow I think this might be my favourite Radiohead song now...

  • haha i like that user name.. i've been thinking that quite a bit... and man o war is definitely one of their best... i really hope they studio record it

  • This has been my favorite Radiohead song since I bought "Meeting People is Easy", 7 or 8 years ago. It's a shame they've never recorded it or really played it live.

  • how the hell did they not think that was good, it was sounding awesome!

  • lol at 2:18

  • Please please release this materpice radiohead! We luv u guys! Also please release lift another masterpiece!

  • they scrapped this?! why would the scrap this!

  • i agree with you! This is good stuff I cannot understand why they are releasing it..

  • Why are they soooooooooooooooooooo good

  • this would have been perfect on in rainbows....

  • I love seeing them work in the studio. Evidence of brilliance.

  • wish this was on hail to the theif to be honest. great song.

  • I was hoping this would bo the new album

  • Hey, radiohead, how could you throw this song away?! It is such an amazing song..

  • that guitar part is so awesome.

  • If only this could come out sometime this year

And I heard rumors that it their album might come this winter or fall

  • Only a band as amazing as Radiohead could even think of throwing a song like this away. This would be the seminal work of almost any other band.

  • o know, but they have gone too far in HTTT, some songs just cant be taken easy no matter how

  • they've done it live a couple times (even after this recording period), and it is sweet like candy.

Check out the message boards at the ateaseweb website in the mutlimedia folder for files. I have the Salamanca '02 version.

  • gimme? lol

  • they HAVE to master this song!!I love this one so much

  • reminds of talk show host

    reminds of placebo too

please put it on the new album

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!

i have a live recording of this and it sounds amazing

  • They can be a monster like Kid A but no recording Big boots? It's incredible!

  • This is a part from 'Meeting People Is Easy'.

  • "We've been actually wOrking ALLLLLLLLLLL day" yeah he lOoks very exhausted at 2:00! Love, lOve, LOVe RadiOhead. Napalmit I'm goina buy thOse damn mOvies, I can't wait! PeOple tresOrs are on the virgin megastOres, and I'm gOina buy them!! And, yes, ThOm fuckin' recOrd all the Big bOOt's sOngs you've dOne, pleeeaaaaz!

  • I WANT this song! :'(

    C'mon guys...

  • One of my favorite things ever in the history of the world is watching Radiohead create this fucking awesome song. No, they never recorded it but they do play it live at there shows occasionally- and it never sounds as good as this.

  • I totally agree. This is probably one of the 5 best unreleased songs ever... but the way they cut this in MPIE with Thom's commentary cutting in and out was just brilliant. Sometime, though, it would be nice for them to release this properly. I'm sure a tape of this session exists somewhere...

  • yeah shame this didnt come out, so much potential. maybe i'll do a cover sometime

  • Oh, actually I listened to it again and caught it. N/m.

  • I had this one rough version of the song (it was occasionally interrupted by them talking, like this) that had this cool electronic break after the chorus. I always wondered why it wasn't included in any other version of the song I've heard. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

  • Heheh, 1:55, Thom looks exhausted hilarious

  • One of the great unreleased Radiohead tracks. Agree it's a shame they never recorded it.

  • I love this song, its such a huge tragedy their not recording it.

  • ace track! so did they go back and try to finish it? i dont get how a day in the studio justifies a real attempt to complete a song.

  • I've always enjoyed this song

  • incrdible song

  • no. "big boots" was a song from the 1995 the bends tour that they could never seem to get right. this movie is from 1998. they've scrapped it since.

  • is this the stuff they are working on right now?

  • we can hope so.

  • It sounds good doesn't it? But to Radiohead, this wasn't good enough. They have such quality standards. Thing is, it sounds as good as anything off 'Hail to the Thief' doesn't it?

  • my favorite part from an awesome movie about my favorite band. thanks!

  • its vintage radiohead, and one hell of a tune, the early versions of the song were a little more straight forward and bendsy, this version fits the ok computer mould which makes sense, maybe they'll resurrect it again like they did with motion picture soundtrack on kid a

  • Any other band would kill to have a song of this quality. Damn you and your brilliance, Radiohead.

  • yeah that was a stupid suggestion of mine its never gonna happen!

  • if they recorded this for LP7, i would probably die. this song is that good. although i think them leaving it at this was a good choice.

  • LOL at the person above me

anyway cheers for this, one of my favorite parts of mpie :)

  • great footage, sounds like it could be awesome i hope they try to record this for lp7!

  • Thanks for posting, really great footage!
