I collect and destroy traps off my land every year, even though my land is posted. I have trappers jailed when I catch them, and it is even better if they aren't licensed.

In order to protect the entire fur it is best to drown them soon after they are caught. If you shoot with a .22 you risk damaging it. Just put the entire cage in water, wait for the bubbles to stop. Be sure to dry very well.

Things like racoon, muskrat, etc, have all gotten so cheap that now you hit racoons on the road all the time, they are everywhere, back when the pelts were worth more the population was kept in control because people hunted or trapped them, then everyone stopped because it wasn't worth it on them anymore.
I'm using a 42" x 15 x 15" trap with a bobcat specific bait and lure. I smoked my gloves before moving it to a location where two of my hens were attacked, put dirt and grass along the bottom floor of the cage and camoflauged it with surrounding brush. I still can't get this bobcat who's been terrorizing my poultry. Any suggestions?
Yes it can be hard basicly it takes alot of work as you have to pack the trap to a suitable location then prep it so that a cat will go in. As for how long it takes to catch one it might take a day or a month it all depends on how well you know the animal.

Yes I catch badgers they are a little rough on the wire tear things up pretty good.
As of yet there has been 1 coyote caught but I have no picture so no proof, typically they will not get within more than a few feet of the trap.
