@chieffy35 back end? I'm guessing you mean the actual back end lol. Well, I bought 2 hoods from 2 Bugs at a junk yard for about 50.00. Thats pretty much it.
everything else was already here, like the sheet metal, I had scrap pieces laying around to widen the fenders.
By the way. I'm currently shopping for a Beetle to restore & hear that 67 or older is the way to go, as the 68's & up drop in value considerably when you are restoring them to original specs. Any suggestions? I have a friend who has been doing sheet metal work & painting for a few decades in his garage & will give me a good deal on the work I can't complete myself.
@DaHawaiianPunch If that's a 50 yr old climbing outta that car, then he probably can't remember the last time he's eaten food from a fast food joint & probably has a fulltime job, or membership at a Gold's Gym.
My mom had a stroke and was paralized on her left side, so I began training at the gym so I could be strong enough to be able to lift her out of bed and carry her around.
She passed away a few yrs ago (see my video tribute to her) and I made a promise to myself to stay fit in memory to her and for my health after my heart attach scare I had..
Does It still hurts when You think about it still? or not really since its been awhile? for me so far I still struggle holding back tears when I think about the time I witnessed her last breath. Its been 4 yrs since my Mom's passing, but seems like it was just the other day some times.
amazing chop! jaw dropping work two thumbs up. love the rear end could widen the stance in the front a bit though to give a more planted look like a deuce.
Uffa.lol..Just kidding.

this bug is actually a 67, taking the engine out was the same except it has to go higher then normal to yank it out.
DaHawaiianPunch 8 months ago
So what year was that bug before modification? And just how easy is it for you to yank that motor out?
