Nice work. I like the concept. Keep it up! If you would be willing to give some of my videos a peek I’d love to hear some of your thoughts. Thanks again and keep at it!
Great! My only critique would be lack of dialogue. Would've loved to see some yelling back and forth towards the end. But that's my 2 cents. Otherwise, another great video duuuude!
Like i said before it was really good, but Ill offer some constructive criticism. The gun shots should be louder so they have more of an emotional shock to them. The music and cinematography was amazing, and the acting was good too. What I would suggest is using more practical blood. But with practical blood you will need different locations, for instance in my movies, I have the shootouts take place outside or in some place where we can spray blood on the walls and let it pool on the floor.
@iJuStEriC didn't get to watch it all, just a few minutes of the first part cause I was in a hurry but I liked what I saw! good writing too in the beginning with the voiceover. Shot this with a Canon Rebel T3i, and a 24-75 L Series lens
@zombifiedmaster Yeah the parts of my film get much better as they go on as I learn more and more about film making. Please be sure to watch all of them, you will love part 6 if your into gritty violence, and by the look of "Rage" it would appear that you are. Also, if you wouldn't mind, I would love to use some of this music in my next movie, its pretty amazing.
@iJuStEriC Yeah I'll check it out for sure! For the music just contact my friend Trey who's name is in the description and let him know, he'll probably want a credit but be down to let you use it. you can email him at thecafediscobeat@gmail.com
Ok, finally have time to critique. Cinematography and camera work was good, I liked the premise and circumstance. I think the script was a bit thin, you could have directed it better. Not the shot choice, that was good, but the performance. I think you could have pushed the subtext more, through the actors' emotions. It also would have been great to elaborate the moments around the heavy lines to build up tension. Also, structuring a character arc would make your films better. Overall, nice job.
That was good man, dodgy dialogue but still very good. fuck the haters and the nay sayers unless they are constructive and not 2 arrogant of course. How many short films have you made ? I'm about to make my first in the next few months for VFX course..and I'm working on my own of course on the side :D
Few things, awesome camera work and cut scenes ext. but your regoil was bad, flares on guns were bad gun sounds were bad and you need to get gas blow back guns so its more realistic. This could be totally fucking awsome with those minor adjustments
thought the cinematography was awesome. FX on the muzzle flashes didn't seem quite right to me. Kind of small, and no smoke. Also sounds on the guns could have been better. Good stuff!
@PuRpLeXkoBrA How about stating those reasons Mr. Spielberg? That's like saying "I hate you, but don't hate me because I have my reasons". All you said was it's terrible, without offering constructive criticism (which you say you have but you didn't put in the comment), that sir is trolling and you should get all manner of hateful responses. Furthermore I doubt you even have reasons or know the first thing about cinematography anyway so why did you even just troll? I face-palm at your stupidity.
@TheGreatKadik Ok, so you don't think I know the first thing about cinematography!?
I'd be happy to share my reasons.
1. Acting; Actors stayed to close to the script
2. Dialogue/script, the lines where written with no thought of emotion to be developed by the character; EX: "Just give me my share of the fucking money man" "Why don't you just go fuck yourself then"
3. VFX; unrealistic muzzle flashes
4. Make up; Just a bunch of blood, no cuts or scrapes.
@TheGreatKadik I don't know if you read the bottom line, but it says, "To be continued..."
key word "Continued"! Did you stop to think that maybe I would educate you with what I personally know about cinematography in the CONTINUED video response? I just need to get my Canon 7D back from Honduras, my film professor took it with him to film specific parts of his documentary at 60fps so he could later then slow some of the footage. He only has a Canon 5D mark II which does not shoot at 60fps..!
@PuRpLeXkoBrA Allow me to educate, cinematography is the craft of lighting and exposure for filmmaking, none of which you mentioned, hence proving my point. I'd pour more of my film school education on you, but you shouldn't get the free lessons. Go read a book.
@TheGreatKadik Whoa whoa whoa, you didn't prove your point! I mentioned the flaws or cons of the film making. When I get my camera (Canon EOS 7D) back from Honduras. I will be happy to share my knowledge of Lighting, exposure, depth of field; etc. Andrew I'm not here to make enemies with you, and I certainly hope your not either.
@PuRpLeXkoBrA I'm not I was just pointing out the troll-ness of your original comment, which I hope you now see. If my initial impression of you as uneducated was wrong, I apologize.
@TheGreatKadik Yes I do notice me being a troll in my original comment. However I did not do this on purpose. I had to go some where and I just wanted get it out there that I did not like the film for the reasons I listed earlier, although I have to say the camera work was brilliant! I have never had such a burning passion for anything else but film making. Your apology is deeply appreciated. And I apologize for being a troll in the beginning!
@TheGreatKadik Infact, I watched some of your Vlogasm's, and saw that you are good friends with all the Indy YouTube film makers down in LA! Someday I would LOVE to go down to LA and hang out on set with all them on one of there upcoming projects! Especially Clinton Jones, Keith Hodder, Sam and Niko, and Brett!!(Don't actually know his full name, just his u-tube name) AND Zach Sale, big fan of his acting and his rolls in Keith, Clint, and Brett's films!
@TheGreatKadik I agree sir, too many trollers, i see alot on the short films bagging them out but yes they have no idea about film and im sure most of them are under 17 year old retarded simpleton fuck holes
Love the cinematography - do I catch a little influence from "Drive"? Editing is great too. Really impressed with this. Would've loved to see a build up of the character's frustration with the 60/40 rule. Imagine that we see the thoughts going to his head and we see the ideas being manipulated ever so slowly. Would've created a lot of tension then it opens up at the end to this horrible moment. Would've been cool if half of Rich's face was covered in blood - a sign of him being two-faced.
@RiverRogueFilms thanks man! Yeah lot of influence from Drive ha, I love that movie, but yeah that would've defiantly been rad to do that stuff, especially the blood on the face, wish we would've thought of that at the time
Nice work. I like the concept. Keep it up! If you would be willing to give some of my videos a peek I’d love to hear some of your thoughts. Thanks again and keep at it!
