I don't get this longing people have for everything to change in COD. It then wouldn't be COD, which I for one still love. Black Ops innovated. Ok, MW3 probably didn't but its still a great game. I'd rather have more of the same and know what to expect than not knowing what to expect and not have a clue what the fuck is going on for 3-4 months. Battlefield will never beat COD. Ever. No game in the market will. It'll take something truly new and fresh that has never been done before.

I agree lol but battlefield isn't good enough to kill cod. Yeah it's a good game but Its not even close to as good as a game has to be to convert all of the cod players to a new game. Recently the only thing that I find fun in cod is trying to get 360no scopes but eventually thAt will get boring and repetitive just like cod always does....haha that's the only good thing call of duty does consistently, no no one is surprised when it sucks

I didnt end up buying mw3 because im so sick of cod, i just wanted somthing different. I got bf3 instead, and im really happy with my decision. Im not sure if you bought it or anything, but i would definatly recomend it to someone who is already familiar with first person shooters. It doesnt seem like a good noob game, but once you get the mechanics and everything down this is a very good game, and i would definatly recomend it.
i don't think COD has to reinvent itself overtime it comes out with a new game. COD is a good product, otherwise people wouldn't by it. I think the addition of specialist and support packages are a game-changer, and are reason enough to buy the game. finally, people don't have to corner camp behind a claymore anymore to get kill streaks, and make the game miserable for anyone else. The only thing that's a negative for me is the lag, and the maps (too many buildings!!!)
IW dot make MW3 looks really good cuz it would take away the 60 FPS per sec and IW like to give people 60 FPS per sec so yes it may look little like MW2 but thats why.
I think that halo could kill cod even though it is more futuristic and not really on the same level as cod or bf3 but still I enjoy the variety in the multiplayer in halo to break up the monotony of the cod multiplayer.
Also, many "improvements" turn out to hurt a game. Look at killstreaks for example: in cod4, they didn't dominate the game, and it was possible to run around the map killing campers. Then when MW2 came around, killstreaks became the main purpose of the game. Sure, this gave players something to play for, but it forced players to be much more cautious and helped campers (xcal gives a good description of this in his first mw2 video).
I understand the argument against cod's failure to make anything innovative, but you have to see it from the developers' perspective as well. What can they do to improve? The players have seemingly failed to put out any really good ideas, and every time a game improves, it becomes harder to further improve. This happened with cod4: it was almost the perfect call of duty, and the only real improvements that could be easily thought up were those of balance and how the game ran (host migration!)
I didn't play much of MW2, since Black Ops was my first FPS on my own console, so I can't really compare MW2 to MW3, but I do enjoy MW3, but it does seem very similar to MW2. What I think is gonna keep COD alive is the continuing of younger kids buying the new games as they come out.

Hello - Halo 3 anybody? That was out in 2007 and had theater mode (AND the file share system) which Black Ops stole 4 years later. That is NOT a big advancement.
