im muslim, shia from australia

when i see these people i sort of think that there not all doing it for the imam hussein,

i dont think the imam or anyone asked for them to hurt themselves like that, if they actully are sad and love the imam like that then why do hardly any of them show tears at mosque? or is it just infront of people that they do that?

I would seriously be shocked if any of them are doing any of this for the imam.

the reason why shi3as believe this is not forbidden to do, is because there is a hadith where it shows that sayida zainab, daughter of Imam Ali (As) did a similar thing to this, she hit her head on a pole to vent her anger, and Imam Ali Zain Abidin (as) did not stop her from doing that, wouldnt it make sense to all of you that it is halal, the IMAMS know what they are doing since they came from the prophet.. even sunnis do respect the imams...so why should they argue against that?
