  • very cool

  • Anybody interested in some new Commodore samples?

Click my name to view COMMODORE 64 SAMPLES PACK: SFX SOUND EXPANDER IN 'C'. If you click the link below it you are also taken to a special selection of SID sounds and effects taken from famous games and applications.

  • heel vet !

  • Cool stuff :D

Would have been even more cooler if you made 8khz samplings of the same sounds, produced from the SID chip in real time :D

  • waar heb je dit allemaal gekocht??

  • this makes me giddy inside--great stuff!

  • @jobez wow, so cool you get a kick out of it.

  • dope!

  • where is the download? is it like a patch of somekind

  • Lol you're a dutchguy, huh? That accent, haha :)

    (yeah i'm also dutch ;-) )

  • mijn engels is gewoonlijk best aardig, maar met een klein beetje faalangst is het oppeens heel lastig voor me om de woorden te vinden..

  • You have really good English to me, probably the same level as most Americans....

  • your are fucking awesome!!

    man this is truly amazing,

    - love the music

    - love the c64

    - love the hacked up!! c64

    - love the monome

and love the overall passion of combining everything i love into one tight little package.

    thank you.!

  • wow, thank you.

ive seen your arduino RGB ledlamp aswell, love the chique style of it. with the stained wood. and the detail around the scroll wheel.

    thnx again for your appreciation.

  • thnk you :)

Quick question about your setup c64_monome. I have 2 none working commodor 64's AND I'de LOVE to the the exact same thing, Im just wondering where I can get documentation to hook up my C64 serially to my PC & how to use that serial data to control MLR (did you have to hack up monomeserial or something?)

  • damn... i saw this video almost 2 years ago and i still had this tune in ear. so awesome!!!

is there a full-track version of it? would really love to hear it completed. both thumbs up.

  • does the MLR program with with windows XP?

  • great!!! where can i get a 64 Commodore????? is it expensive??

  • this is not a working c64.. its just its keyboard.. look for monome on google..

  • C64 is very rare and extremly expensive stuff for the choosen.

  • lol im lucky my second hand shop cnt get rid of them i get them for 5$

  • can you buy me one and I can paypal you for the cost and airmail costs?

  • well i dont have paypal but i can see about my brothers account. would you also like a 1541 diskdrive. ittl cost you alittle more but believe me its worth it (because ill also see about sending you 20 disks loaded with games). if you do decide to get one from me ill send you my c64c because its guaranteed to work. ill p.m you to discus it further

  • Awesome song. I love the piano in it and those fast drums. Is that song made by you? I would like to get it with same kind of mixing if possible. :)

Really nice song and nice mixing on it.

  • hey, thank you for the compliments, really appreciate it. yeh, the song is made by me.

unfortunately, the original is very different to the version you hear here. these clips are basically just experiments for which i used some of the riffs from the song. this means i cant give you the this exact version. however the song itself will be placed on my myspace in due time, so look for that when it comes out.

    thnx again,

    Y

  • Alright. I will. :)

  • that's so sick... how much would it cost to get setup like that? controller and software?

    -fellow mac dude

  • it all depends.. but i wouldnt recommend it as a controller for the MLR.. the controller suffers from ghost keypresses..

a simple midibox would cost about 50 to 100 euros if you play it smart..

  • Hi there ColdInferno,

This video suggests that you have found a way to talk to mlr in midi note messages - is that right? I recently bought a faderfox lx1 (a grid of 64 buttons a bit like a lego monome) and I'm not accomplished enough to hack into the max/msp code for mlr or the base routers etc. But I'd really love to play with the software. Could you share any tips on how you did this, or even publish the patches somewhere?

    Cheers and well done!

  • hi Streetcitizen,

i have been able to "hack" into the MLR code and find the input for trigger I/O.. i built an external max patch to act as a interface for that I/O, and convert the midi on/ off messages that my MB_C64_controller is putting out..

  • it has been a while since i used the whole setup.. but right now im working on a new controller especially for the MLR patch.. once that controller is done, i will be looking into the patches again and updating it to the latest version.. once that is done i will be releasing the converter patch into the public.. so you may profit from it..

  • if you cant wait that long.. look through the monome OSC app that is needed to interface the monome to the MLR patch.. look for something going both ways.. good luck..

  • i have a keyboard that cost £10 that can do that and more

  • what programm you istall in your pc??? i have windows....and is possible i put in commodore the box of game????

  • Max/msp with my own code.

and it isnt a working commodore.. its a c64 case and keys but with custom electronics inside..

  • thats a pretty good setup u should make a vid of you mixin it up

  • how'd you make that drum loop? (the first one)

    also is it available anywhere?

  • its basically the funky drummer breakbeat..

  • I like TACOS

  • Yes, they are quite tasty.

  • wouldnt it be easier just to buy a casio???

  • what do ya mean?

  • YES. shit thats badass.

  • hey bosone666,

it is now configured as not on and off messages. but i suppose you can also send CC values if you want.. the mios source code is already downloadable from the site.. so i guess you have to search there..

  • i built several TK midibox... and i'm thinking about using a C64 keyboard left from the sid project. this utilization seems nice, but still i have to figure out what possible CAN i do with such a toy!

is the C64 keys configured for note on/off message? can i also send CC 0/127 values? (as button togglers)

would you send me the mios source code!? ;-)

  • ive build a special program so that the MLR patch from the guys at monome can understand which button i press.. basicly im converting the data.. not emulating it..

  • Did you used some kind of monome emulator??

    What program is this??

  • hahaha awesome, but whats the point in using the commodore 64 keyboard? did you install those volume knobs on it?

  • THNX :D..the commodore 64 keyboard is hooked up to custom hardware inside its case, which sends noteon and noteoff messages whenever a key is pressed. the knobs send out CC messages which in turn control the group volumes in the MLR patch.. the C64 keyboard is just something i had lying around the house.

  • wow, amazing work. I really wish I knew how to do that stuff.
