hey man, im about to graduate college and im anxious to go backpack europe...did you meet other backpackers along the way or are these all ur friends? Did u solo plan everything or just wing it all?
@kpaola9870 See womentravelalone for some tips. Maybe it will help you. Start in Amsterdam, it's the city where people from all over the world meet and have fun. Take a 'Stay Okay' as a start, you will defenitely make friends!
this looks awesome!! im counting down the days until i head to europe. im backpacking around for two months. im so stoked! im glad you had fun. i have one question though, did you find that you had enough time to go everywhere you wanted?
@xueiscool Well it depends what all you want to see, I spent 2 months and it was perfect for me, I would liked to have seen more but by that time I was ready to go home :)

Save on accommodation costs by staying in a monastery guesthouse. Thousands of them offer tourists cheap, clean, safe and well-located acccommodation. Especially in the UK and Europe - even in Australia!
wow this video has 1 dislike?? he must have been jealous.... I am working my ass to go backpacking during the summer and this definitely got me motivated great video!!!!!
@LMuratalla I remembered your video and had to come back... i have almost everything planned out... im halfway with my money and definitely going this comming summer 2012! :) :)
really great video..... I think everyone has dreams and just wants the ability to travel at their own pace and have fun. And with travelling you get to meet some of the coolest people placed on this earth...
So to all my fellow backpackers, 'HAVE FUN, stay safe and most importantly HAVE FUN while travelling. - Spent 1 month in Amsterdam so this time it's off to Australia. SEe you guys there :)
@MissKendall87 Sorry it took so long to respond, but I have two recommendation. Granada (Spain) Santorini (Greece), Paris is also one of my favorites.
im going there this summer ! the cool thing is we have family's to host us for the first month, then were on our own... hey do you know anything about ryanair? my friends swear the flights from paris to amsterdam are like 40$ were opting out of the rail for the cheapy airline.
you make me so happy :)! i realllly want to do this, but, you know, protective parents. do you think its ok to go alone or is it important to bring someone? i dont think i know anyone who would go with me.
Would anybody suggest travelling through all the states in US, because Europe would be too familiar and boring for me... Anybody done it and got any advice, but I'm not really going to be 'backpacking' though.
I have been to the states on vacation but don't really see myself backpacking through usa... i find quite monotonous... I'm from latin america and one of my dreams is to backpack through this whole continent... but it just depends on what do you like to do while backpacking, what would you like to experience, how much money and time do you have and stuff like that.
I would not backpack through USA. The US compared to ancient Europe severely lacks that beautiful and captivating culture that a lot of European cities have. Im not dissing the US. If you've never been to NYC, this is a must! It is absolutely fantastic--like no other. Visit the beautiful beaches of Florida and California. I would definitly travel to New England as well (great seafood, hiking, and snowboarding stuff).
Hi, i live in the states and im like you but the opposite... (?) anyways, yeah, the U.S. is really diverse. the west coast is very differnt from the west, lots of national parks...yeah, id recomend it...why not? you might as well
good god please don't travel every state! it would take forever!!! i would stick to the big cities like LA, Orlando, New York City, Boston, and DC! i live in florida so i would for sure visit the beaches here ( on the gulf of mexico side). but if you had to pick two cities to visit i would pick NYC and DC :]
Wasn't as conservative as I should have been, but it was my first time travelling so i didn't realize. I did meet a young aussie 18 years of age and he lived off of approx 20 euros a day and had been travelling for almost a year... and yes the 20 euros does include his accomodation, but the way he was living was not for me..
I spent much of my money on the rail pass and getting around but I stayed in hostels made my own food and went sight seeing on days that were discounted. I ate out a few times and did alot of partying. I used metro systems instead of taxi's and walked ALOT so thats about it. Just meet people and have fun.
Well if your plane and rail tickets are not included with that 5k and depending on the strength of the dollar you can make it stretch for a pretty long time. I used about 4000 and spent 2 months there
