  • Too Broadway for me. It lacks the dark timbre and soul that a negro spiritual requires. It's nice ear candy, but it's too saccharine for a negro spiritual.

  • best version on youtube.

  • they need a larger crescendo at first

  • i've seen better from them this is okay usually they are amazing.

  • I really like how the girls didn't outshine the guys. It sounds a lot better when its a 50-50 split. Excellent performance, truly.

  • but its the way the sang it, its a negro spiritual, i listen to another recording of this same song, sung by the same group, an i didnt like it at all, this Recording is a little better, but alot of the vowels sound spread more from the sopranos, like world an joy, for example, it needs to be sung with a richer an thicker sound, it doesnt really sound like a Negro spiritual, it sounds like this kind of tone, would be for a song like "Get along home Little Cindy, I wish I was an apple", etc..

  • The womans part is gorgeous.

  • Endings are a bit... abrupt. More final consenants perhaps? But other than than utterly gorgeous :)

  • THEY NEED HAPPINESS!!!!!!!!!!! and STRENGH

  • Im singing this in my choir of 16 men and women <3

  • Dr Allred is a genius. My high school choir did a clinic with him in April, he's such a joy to work with! His choirs are amazing.

  • Three people can't tell the world about this.

  • We did a similar tempo when I sang this. Absolutely loved it--such a joy to sing.

  • I like the accuracy, but it needs more soul. great job though!

  • Amazing job. I'm an atheist, but it can still sound beautiful to my ears. Expertly done, all of you.

  • Great!! We are singing this in choir love it..

  • This was excellent

  • This is how this song should be sung. So many of the choirs make this song into a runaway train. Despite how good Marian Uni sounds, their take is waaaaayyyyy too fast. The Riddle Films version is about the same tempo as this one and it sits just right.

  • Holy shit, this choir is good! You have to be an idiot not to know how good that sounds.

  • @dschaefer2

    NOT IN THAT SONG!

  • Respond to this video... hmmmmm, wel........ maybe they are that good iin this song but gaaa souns better though they mess up alot in the past years

  • Respond to this video... they just need more strnght and happiness

  • i love singing this song, it is SOO fun!

  • I agree! Marian U. Is fantastic at I can Tell The World. I like the tempo they take it at alot more too, they actually have soul while they are singing.

  • sounds great for a choir of this size, but listen to Marian University's version. less than 20 singers in that video and Whitacre's Lux Aurumque is also a part of that video

  • that's exactly how that song should be sung

  • perfect. the blending is sooooooooooooooo nice to my ears. Bravooo. like it very much.

  • i want my choir to do a song like this lol yall did good

  • LOVE IT!

  • I like the "he healed the sick and he raised the dead". The bass's note on "raised" is raised :-) by a half-tone... great!

The Marktoberdorf performance of this song is even better, I think, if you can believe it. Be sure to check it out.

  • curiosity has me...why don't you stand on the risers?

  • This is just the formation we use. :p. Dr. Allred just didn't have us use them.

  • nice!

  • That last high b-flat gives me goosebumps. It's beautiful! I sang this song (Soprano 1) in choir 2 years ago, and we were not nearly as good!

  • It's very beatifull!!!!
