I will also check out All About Eve! Yeah, it's handy that my boyfriend plays violin. The first time I ever saw him, he was on stage playing guitar and then in the next song picked up the violin and I said to my friends "Oh my god, he is my perfect man. I am going to marry him". Almost 4 years later, here we are.

It sounds really beautiful with a band. I used to play this song with violin, mandolin, 2 guitars, bass guitar and bongos. It sounds amazing, but I don't have access to a full band anymore. Unfortunately.

Thank you very much, Isodig. I think the song was a fluke. I wrote it maybe... 1 month... after learning to play the guitar when I was 19. And the cool thing too, is that I didn't intend for it to be a deep and meaningful folky song. I just wanted something fun. So it's fun to sing, because it's not emotionally demanding or anything. Thanks for such a great comment!!!!!

But it does feel emotional, like with a more powerful undercurrent, and you are protecting it.. I don't know much about songwriting but it seems that some of the best songs come around like that. I remember hearing Roger Waters saying that one of the best lessons was to stick with that first thought and don't throw it away.. and he used "Leave, but don't leave me" as an example of something he would have trashed before learning that. Anyway, this is brilliant. :-)

That's so true. Most of my songs are written in that fashion. You just have to trust the process. My song "Aftertaste" was meant to be a happy song. My intention was to write this positive, moving forward type of song after a break up, and instead it came out sad and is my most confronting.

Usually when I perform the song we'll have bongos, mandolin, 2 guitars, bass guitar and violin. I am very inspired by world music sounds, especially since I am half Indonesian.

But I think this song could easily be turned into a pop song with electric guitars, bass, etc. I prefer to hear it in the world music way, but that's my taste.
