A Japa Meditation

is this how fast i should be doing japa..i am a couple weeks into doing mala and it takes me almost 30 min to do a round. Is it ok to do it this fast ..how should it be?? if it take me about 10 min to do one round is that ok? I only do 1 round a day because i am 15 and was told it is how much i should do.. is that good?
