  • WOW dude you just activated a part of my brain thats been dormant for decades .....THANX

  • OMG!! The memories!!! Axelay had the best music!! I loved that game, and played it just because of the music.

  • I hear a bit of Policenauts at around 3:59.

  • Arms installation is complete. Good luck!

  • Don't we love Konami? Yes, we do! : )

  • Greatest soundtrack ever. Period.

  • @TheZeroresistance So true!!!

  • okay...i'm disappointed in this one. on the bgm to stage 2, you cut it off before the song even got started. normally, i wouldn't care, but i'm sure i speak for almost everyone here when i say that bgm 2 was one of the best cuts in the game!

  • AW MAN! You skipped over the lava stage. That's the best one!

  • I still prefer the Stage 3 track. For me, the best Axelay's BGM.

  • Stage 1 music is the best!

  • wow the first level sound very like the song "Musicatto" by Kansas at the min 2 :42 maybe Taro Kudou was influenced.

  • 2:42 from the song "Musicatto" by Kansas sounds just like the first level.Maybe Konami had a Kansas fan in their Music department!--Great Game

  • The Music at the Boss of Stage 2 is Epic! I failed to kill that one several times because of the Music!

  • In past, the konami games always have the real final scene in hard difficult! I love it this game, Konami you are my favorite third part...

  • developpers abused of mode 7 on snes but whatever it looks so nice :)

  • @Silfe113: The first stage is actually *not* Mode7, if you were thinking that. ;)

  • Megadrive and Snes will always be the best systems. No other console can even compete with the amazing gamelibrary of these two. Axelay however is easy one of the best shoot em ups ever.

  • That stage 3 track, Silence, has defined my standards for the best video game song I have ever heard.

  • I'd heard of Axelay, but never played it. Looks like a game I'd be into.

  • it wasnt that fun of a game, because it was to hard/frustrating.

  • THE BEST GAME

  • This is my favorite side scrolling shooter. Area 88/UN Squadron is damn good too, but Axelay always edges it out for me.

  • Yo me acabe este juego con el action replay.

    YOU ARE CRAZY

Esto dice el juego cuando te lo terminas en el nivel dificil.

  • De culto.

  • the stage 4 music is beautiful, and really all of the music on here is some of the best anywhere.

  • dude ur so right. for a game this is amazing. all the music even the boss music.

  • yeah, this is one of the early classics that showcased the full range of gfx the SNES was capable of. Outstanding graphically & musically, although short. A Taro masterpiece.

  • Fast becoming one of my favorite soundtracks out there.

  • the 3r song its very very very goood, remix?

  • SUPER GAME!! AXELAY ROCKS!!!

  • Ah, this is great game. I have it on my SNES console. :D

  • Best.video.game.soundtrack.ever nuff said.

i think the only song not that good is the 1 in the underground stage. Apart from that, epic EPIC music.

  • Wonderful game, with amazing music. The beginning of the last stage had fantastic music.

  • Is it me, or does Super Nintendo / Sega Genesis games have the best music!?

  • Super NES yes. Genesis no because it lacked the superior soundchip on the SNES. On top of that the SNES had a much stronger line up of games than the Genesis during the entire 16 bit run.

  • Uhh huh, and Twilight is a well made movie. Geez dude, they're both amazing systems. Both had strengths and weaknesses, SNES had a better sound chip yes but, ive still not heard any equals to alot of Genesis games, Streets of Rage, Shinobi, and Ecco are good examples of amazing Genesis sound.

  • I owned a Genesis. SuperCastleVania and F-Zero had some really good music.

  • Well Castlevania has good music regardless of system. Anything Konami has amazing music. And F-Zero had totally awesome music.

  • And as far as a lineup, yeah Nintendo has it's classics, all good games but, Genesis had more quality titles but, lackluster ability to keep up, only because they were next in the race. I won't knock anyone's favorites as far as classics because while we all have our favorite systems, we played em all, and we all have a right to enjoy em.

  • so true. those games back in the days had way better music than today's stuff. Streets of Rage, Revenge of Shinobi, anything Konami, Mystic Defender, even Ghostbusters(Genesis), so many...

  • @wrsmith123 Pc-engine also has the best music.

  • Yeah, this is one of my favorites of all time too. It's definitely in my top 5 on the SNES, and Colony (stage 2) is without a doubt my favorite SNES song.

  • This is my absolute favourite vg soundtrack of all time. Amazing, amazing compositions.

  • Hey, those rocket-launching ships (@ 6:30) remind me of the ones from Space Manbow (another almost-Gradius game from Konami)!

  • One of those hidden masterpieces.

  • Wow, thanks for having all this great music! I was looking through your list and was like AXELAY! Woah I gotta listen to this!!! THANKS!!!

  • Hehe, not a problem dude, glad you liked it.

  • i actually own this cart on the snes. One of my all time fav shmups. the music is very memorable.

  • Cool game and great music. I was surprised to find this tbh.

  • I cover some pretty obscure stuff from time to time, although this game really should be better known to be honest.

I'm curious, how did you come across the vid, searching 'axelay music' or something like that?

  • Yeah I just got the sudden urge to listen to it so I searched axelay music.

  • I love this game

  • Colony, magnifique musique, ça me ferait chialer.

Colony so beautiful song, It 'll make me cry!!
