I too feel that this version is far better than the one by Mahendra Kapoor. More 'dard' in this version. Faryal was quite an attractive heroine. Sadly, she faded away. I'd heard that she'd married a pilot of a foreign airline. Hope she's happy and contented wherever she is today.....
@TheMenon49 - According to Wikipedia; "Faryal married her long time boyfriend after quitting movies and she is currently living in Israel. Up until early 1990s, she worked as a nightclub dancer and an entertainer in Dubai, Qatar and other parts of the Middle East".
Yuanji you are fantastic. Once again I have to thank you. I have both versions with me, but audio only, and the audio version omits the last stanza of both songs! In those days this was done to limit the length to fit a 78 rpm record. It was a pleasure to hear the full songs. For me too the worth of the song is the melody and the lyric - not the movie or the actors, and I usually don't see the film clip (or the film!). Poetry is lovely - hope you understood. CR's music is wonderful as usual...
@DilipCoulagi - Thank you my dear friend Dilip for your nice comment with kind words.
Hope you have watched the other song also, posted [in this channel] under the title of "Mahendra Kapoor - Dil Laga Kar Hum Ye Samjhe - Zindagi Aur Maut [1965]"
@yuanyuanyuanyin Yes I have both songs. Earlier, I had only the audio versions, which were truncated as I said above; now thanks to you, I have both songs in full. Thanks again..............
Yes, Faryal is the real surprise package of this song! but the lyrics also touch a deeper chord than the ones in the Mahendra Kapoor version. Thanks a lot for sharing!
thank you for this gloriously clear recording even if it is slightly stretched here and there.Mercifully the melody is intact. A few' Lota Lunatics' (which includes HMV) wrote in Filmfare the Mahendra Kapoor version is better. Blasphemy ! Please you ain't fooling the likes of me! ANYTHING the great Ashaji did had to be better than that man.Thank you for this sharp recording. Asha Bhosle's vocal filigree is audible
yuan g i hv listened the other versions of this song y mohinder kapoor on ur channel. both r xclent & nice composition of c ramchandra, quite sweet 2 listen. really xclent upload. thanx.
v beautiful song and one of my favs by asha ji . often heard on vividh bharti oldies but never knew anything about the movie ..i am also surprised that this movie was released in 1965 which is the same year as guide . this song from a black and white movie seems very old in comparison . but the song is very beautiful and i have heard the last verse for the first time . this full version was never played on the radio . thanks yuan for this very melodious asha gem .
Beautifully sung by Asha Bhonsle with much depth of feeling about the trials and anguish of love. Delighted to hear this song. Never heard it before. Thanks, Yuan.
@chamogaa - Thank you my dear Professor for the nice comment.
Frankly, whenever some Indian friends used to say the words " I have never heard this song........", [this happened many times], I always used to wonder how come we Sri Lankans are familiar with SUCH songs.
We always go ONLY for the melody whereas Indian friends go not only that but for the FILM, STORY, LYRICS and ACTORS/ACTRESSES etc.
"Adventure Of Robinhood [1965]" is an example. Such good songs but many Indian friends never heard those songs composed by G S Kohli.
The actors and actresses were lesser known ones and film became a flop, I heard. I have never seen that film but songs became very popular here and remade in local languages too.
Thanks a heap for the info on Faryal, Yuanyuanyuanyin! Hope she's happy in Israel.

What a contrast to the Faryal we usually see. Biradari with Shashi Kapoor is another.
I think she was Miss. India. Another talent wasted by the industry!
